TRAVEL RAIAERA!
A Guide for the Confused Traveler
Produced by the High Bard Council

Welcome to Raiaera! Many travelers come through this land every year. Some are returning for another visit, with fond memories of the last time they took in all that this wonderful land has to offer. Others may be coming for the first time, destined to leave with a newfound appreciation for the art and culture waiting to meet them in the country of the High Elves. Ours is a land of rich culture and history, and we hope you enjoy your visit.

Oftentimes, people wonder about Raiaera. A question often asked is "What can I do in Raiaera, besides listen to music and look at art?" There are many answers to this question! For adventurers seeking fame and fortune, there are whole areas of the country open for exploration. The Red Forest (Lindequalmë) (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=241), The Obsidian Spire (Minas Teradryn) (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=242), and The Black Desert (Tel Moranfauglir) (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=240) are three areas of Raiaera filled with mystery, adventure, and perhaps even treasure. Many things, both dark and divine, lie in wait for the intrepid explorer. Be warned, however: some areas of the country, such as the Obsidian Spire, are off-limits by decree of the High Bard Council. You may still manage to get there, but it won't be easy.

Perhaps, though, you are a wandering mage, seeking knowledge and power? Raiaera has everything you need. The four schools of Istien University (http://althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=490) are the most renowned institutions of magical arts in all Althanas. Each school trains magicians in the arts of a different form of magic. Also, do not be afraid to enroll even if you are not a bard and cannot sing! Even if your only musical talent in an instrument, it can be imbued with the powers of various schools. All races are accepted in Istien University, and there is much to be learned from these powerful bards.

And what if you seek the fast-paced, big-city life? There are several options for you. You can become a player on the world stage by becoming involved in the Elven Army or the Bladesingers Guild (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=749), both of which keep headquarters at Anebrilith (http://althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=239). If high diplomacy is more your thing, the city of Eluriand (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=120) is the location of the High Bard Council (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=226). Headquarted within the Grand Palace of Velicë Arta (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=225), the Council is open to anyone with the skills and power for the job. There's also Valinatal, where you may find yourself on the front lines of any assaults that come from Alerar; Trenycë, where gamblers and thugs walk the night (and the Bladesingers seek in vain to keep the peace); New Aurient, in the north, where the small Raiaeran navy tries to keep shipping lanes safe; and Carnelost, a budding population center at the entrance to the path to the Obsidian Spire.

There's something for everyone in the Realm of Raiaera. Come join in the fun!
