Rathaxea Square is the government district of Knife's Edge. Protected by an impressive wall that separates the area from the rest of the city, the Square is home to Castle Rathaxea and a variety of offices, barracks, and towers. The large paved square in between all of these buildings that lends the district its name contains a multitude of statues of ancient kings and forgotten gods. There is only a single gate leading into Rathaxea Square from the city and it is heavily guarded at all times. Anyone seeking entry into the square must present proof that they have an important reason or dire need of entry.

Castle Rathaxea is a massive palace that sits on the western side of the Square, thought to be the oldest building in Knife's Edge. It is a structure of brick and stone that has been added onto and rebuilt over a period of thousands of years, so that it is a haphazard collection of architectural styles with towers of varying heights. If you are able to gain entry to the castle--which is not easy at all to do--then you would find yourself in a veritable stonework maze of hallways, conference rooms, barracks, libraries, and private chambers. Ancient magic is said to be woven into the very walls of the building, protecting it from harm in ways that guards never could. King Iorlan Rathaxea and his councilors rule Salvar from this great palace.
