Personality: Jessi is mild-mannered, despite the stereotypes about redheads with green eyes. She’s fairly patient, and doesn’t get angry quickly. She is very trusting, maybe a little too trusting, but she’ll learn. Her favorite color is green. She does tend to come off as a bookworm, but that doesn’t bother her.
Appearance: Jessi wears ankle length dresses in various shade of green. The bodice is snug to show off her curves, but the skirt flares so that her legs can move freely. The sleeves are short, coming to half-way between her shoulder and elbow. Her firey red hair is very curly and falls to her waist. She often has it tied back in a half-ponytail or braided. Her shoes are sturdy, common shoes, but slip off easily so she can be barefoot when she needs to be quickly.
Skills:
Knife fighting – average, mostly self defense. Very little offensive maneuvers as she doesn’t go looking for trouble and prefers to use her magic for offensive measures anyway.
Nimble – while not extraordinarily acrobatic, flexible, or speedy, Jessi is surprising nimble. It is not wise to assume that because she’s a bookworm and amateur mage that she’s incapable of moving quickly and confidently. (note that this does not exceed a normal person, just surprising given the bookworm aura)
Abilities:
She is learning magic. She has a small notebook that she keeps on her person at all times full of notes about what she is learning and has learned.
Light:
Orb of light - the orb is about 6 inches in diameter and can be used nearly indefinitely, it requires very little magic energy. She can make it bright enough to fill an average living room or dim enough so as to be equal to a candle (and anywhere in between of course, it’s not a full bright or full dim deal).
Water:
Jessi can control water that is in the area to some small extent (ponds, rivers, lakes, ocean, puddles etc pretty much any contained water. water vapor does not count, rain that has not yet collected somewhere does not count). She can make it form into any shape she wants, but cannot exceed a square foot, to be thrown at an enemy or put in front of an enemy to slow them down.
Earth:
Jessi can control chunks of earth. This can go from making a 5’ wall that is 2’ deep by 3’ wide surge up as a shield to picking up several handful sizes of dirt, packing them into balls and throwing them. The most she can pick up at once is a single square foot. The wall cannot exceed 30 sq feet. Height, depth, and width can vary, so long as it does not exceed the 30’.
The caveat for her earth control is that she must be in direct skin to earth contact. Whether her hands or her feet, it does not matter, as long as some part of her skin is touching the earth, she can control it.
Weapons & Armor: none really.

a small (6” blade) steel knife that she wears in a thigh holster under her skirt (a hidden slit in the dress allows her access),

History: Jessi was born and raised in Knife’s Edge. She is an only child and had a relatively normal childhood. Her father was a leatherworker, her mother does not work. Her parents are loyal to the king, and the recent war has driven all of them into hiding. Her father wishes to join with those that are fighting back against the church, but her mother has thus far been able to talk him out of it. Throughout the war, Jessi herself was unsure what she believed was right. She wanted to get away from Knife’s Edge, but was unable to do so on her own. She waited in hiding with her parents, helping however she could.
When the war was finally over, Jessi packed a travel bag said good bye to her parents, and headed to Alerar. There she planned to study at the Great Library. When she was done there she thought she might like to see what remained of Raieara to further her education. While it was not her goal to be the greatest mage of all time, neither was she content with the few little tricks of Light, Water and Earth that she had managed to learn on her own.
