View Full Version : {RP Forum Game} 1 Line at a time RP
So it's time for another one of these funky little forum games to try to spur on activity during this holiday season. This one comes from a game we played in the car during on really long road trip. It's also, pretty dang simple. Each person will post one line of a roleplay about a specific character/story. Since I am starting, I get to pick both. Woohoo. You simply add line by line to the roleplay until it comes to a conclusion. Since this isn't judged, anything goes - metagaming, powergaming, absolute ridiculousness, etc. Nothing is off limits.
Ok, now I will begin. (I am going to post an opening paragraph. The next person will reply with just one line of the next paragraph to continue the roleplay)
Ravens Villa was enduring yet another storm. Storey didn't hate the storms, but she certainly didn't like them either. At least not the thunder. She could bear the lightning and the rain, but the thunder always forced her into a little ball under her covers. Thankfully for Storey that storm brandished no thunder for her to fear. Stepping out from her home she ran out into the pouring ran and frolicked about happily. As she twirled and twirled a flash of lightning caught her eye and she froze. A good ten to twenty seconds passed without thunder and she giggled. "Nothing to fear, nothing to fear," she exclaimed to absolutely no one. A second flash flickered across the sky and she shuddered. Something about the lack of thunder this time made her heart race...something wasn't quite right.
(Okay Althanas, you're on!)
She had actually heard about this before, and in a moment of clarity the absolute truth came to her, "It must be aliens!"
There goes her imagination, making up reasons for what she felt.

She giggled at the fanciful thought, and continued her dance beneath gentle rain only to come to a startled stop as she noticed a young child standing beneath the nearby willow.
Upon closer examination, the little girl's eyes had a noticeable strange hue to them, and just for a split moment when the lightning lit up her face it almost looked like she wasn't quite human.
Again her imagination was playing tricks, or maybe it was the far off lightning that caused the change of color, it doesn't matter, all she knew is that she had been classified as "mentally unstable" due to her constant alien sightings.

It also didn't help that she had a penchant for eating random mushrooms she found in her cellar.
As Storey contemplated the strange, musty flavor of the one she'd had that afternoon, the little girl beckoned to her from the darkness, thin arm outstretched and glinting white in a crackle of lightning; she was holding something in her hand, but the light went too quickly to see what it was.
Storey, being ever the curious one, edged closer to where she had seen the little girl standing.

The next blinding flash of light to fill the sky revealed not a young girl, but an odd old man in a large top hat with his wrinkled hand outstretched; in it was a colorful mushroom, and as the old man faded with the light, the same young girl told her to take it.
More intrigued than disturbed, Storey accepted the mushroom with only a small amount of hesitance, then drew it slowly to her lips.
Taking a bite her eyes widened.
The mushroom tasted of cuteness and adorable-ness, everything her memories of My Little Pony could register.

Suddenly Storey just wanted to punt a kitten over a fence, the taste souring in her mouth

The cool wind abruptly turned to wailing shrieks that tore at her ears, the soothing rain became painful stings that had her huddling and crying in moments, eyes clenched shut, but one glimpse down at her bare legs somehow banished the screaming wind and the stabbing rain, and she slowly stood again to find the nearby willow tree towering alone in a silent field beneath a motionless sky.
It was in that very moment she realized the cute and adorable then quickly sour-tasting mushroom, the creepy, old man, the young, frail girl, they were all nothing more than a distant dream, the result of her many days of work under the grueling sunlight, and the restful slumber only the gentle shade beneath the willow tree would be able to provide her in her time of most dreadful and dire need exacerbated only by the distant memory of her slain family from the family farm only a year or so before.

With a sudden clearness she also realized that there was a giant tarantula no ten feet away ready to devour her, her intestines, and possibly her brains if it was a zombie tarantula...

With fear gripping her like an angry priest she threw her half eaten mushroom at the spider.

The spider barbarically devoured the mushroom, its fangs dripping with venom. The spider then let out an unearthly screech.

It was then that the spider inexplicably exploded, and as the young girl vainly tried to wipe the chunks of discolored goo from her dress she caught the sound of a flute drifting from her nearby house.
