The LCC is nearly upon us. I'm curious as to who you think will win round 1. Here are my predictions:

Caned But Able over Misery Business -- I hate Zack Blaze for being a Dirks clone and it's Duffy's year...
Lute and Hammer over Carry the Flame -- Cooler name
Golden Dawn over Child's Play -- I have to root for the home team!
Champions of Lornius over PETA Posse -- Sei Orlouge is a force of nature, this is your finals team
League of Nightmares over Bittersweet -- Letho and Sage only write in tournaments, Homun and Ciato are posting machines
50 Shades of Gray over My Little Homicidal Maniacs -- Predicted highest score of the round--Logan is badass though and like I said, it's Duffy's year
Osynligs over Chivalry and Savagery -- Probably the only battle outside my own I'll read
Skullfuckers over Plane Curieosity -- Luned writes better as Luned, and I hate Duffy's Mordelain character because she didn't bang Ceidon
Rage over Lone Wolves -- 2 Manda characters only 1 Manda win and Less Careful is probably Zook and I need her to bug him about posting to win the Golden Dawn fight

It'll be child's play! like both the name and nature of their win... and I guess their attitude and their actions when presented with a more lighthearted approach. But I guess its the observer who sets the tone and ultimately will be responsible for if it is or is not viewed as lighthearted and then defining it as indeed Child's Play. While I'm here, shouldn't it be children's play? I could be an old grammar I suppose, like the royal 'we' or something...

PETA Posse over Champions of Lorinus, simply because POKEMON AAAAAH
Bittersweet over League of Nightmares
My Little Homicidal Maniacs over 50 Shades of Gray, because it's my team and My Little Pony references are better than Twilight fan-fics.
Osylings vs. Chivalry and Savagery I have no idea
Skullfuckers over Plane Curiosity, because we know her as Luned, not Resolve.

Caned But Able over Misery Business - I know it's cocksure to vote for yourself, but I think Aimer and Duffy's dynamic will win the day here. It won't be a massive victory on all accounts.

Lute and Hammer over Carry the Flame - Knowing who is behind the latter team, my weight's behind Lute and Hammer.

Golden Dawn over Child's Play - If Max actually writes, and Zook can give dynamism to his character beyond the jewhammer, I think it's going to be a team to watch out for (across the whole tournament, I might add).

Champions of Lornius over PETA Posse -- Sei Orlouge is a force of nature, this is your finals team - Champions for certain.

League of Nightmares over Bittersweet -- Letho and Sagequeen are two of the solids, I'd be a fool to vote otherwise, though surprises always happen.

50 Shades of Gray over My Little Homicidal Maniacs - As long as two people lose their genitals in this thread, (and Andy will, most certainly lose his), I don't much care who wins - it's the journey that counts, and Ruby is buying new shoes just for this occaision. That, and the old people have to show these young 'uns what for, right?

Osynligs over Chivalry and Savagery - I have serious doubts about one of the participants in this time posting enough, or at all...

Skullfuckers over Plane Curieosity - Plane will get the score for battling, but it will be seriously tested by storywriting from Luned's team. Could go either way.

Rage over Lone Wolves - Avery. Without a doubt. That thing is vicious.


But again, nobody's written exceptionally well and consistently through a tournament, and it's a busy time of year and we're on the flip of a slump - I would strongly urge people to be cautious with their betting - this is going to be the year of upsets and new victories.

I don't really know where along the way I garnered such high regard, Max, but it is appreciated all the same. For once, I feel confident in saying, 50 Shades of Grey will go above and beyond all expectations. We're playing this for keeps, damnit.

Personally, I don't like throwing around predictions at this stage. I prefer to let the judges judge without any expectations or outside influence.

My Little Homicidal Maniacs over Misery Business -- Homicidal Maniacs shocked me by staying active during round one, but I should have expected that because they're both in chat all the damn time! Zack Blaze and Ags write well in this one, but I draw both of their attentions to a far more important battle with my constant nagging. Homicidal Maniacs by 2.5.

Champions of Lornius over Plane Curieosity -- The aforementioned important battle. Plane Curieosity surprised us all by having the highest overall score of the round, but they'll have their hands full when Silence Sei and I come to town. Mordelain offers Dirks a blowie, but he refuses and the guns and glass are two much for the feminista squad. Champions by 3.

League of Nightmares over Lute & Hammer -- Otto is an up and comer, but he and Eriag didn't get to show off too much in their first battle. The veteran League of Nightmares comes to play and takes the win. League of Nightmares by 2.

Golden Dawn vs Rage -- My vote for the highest scoring battle of the round. When you take into consideration the OOC context, this battle has the potential to be epic. Obviously I vote for the home team. Golden Dawn by .5.

Did anyone notice my reasoning got shorter and shorter as I went on? I just know, okay?

Actually MLHM did not stay active. There was a span of nearly 5-6 days where one or the other went AWOL (mostly due to really crappy forces outside their control). However, I would put my faith in them for round two. BnB is not playing around this tournament.

My Little Pony--er, Homicidal Maniacs over Misery Business: Sei and I have some amazing things lined up, but the judges have accepted my bribes and victory is assured.

Plane Curiosity over Champions of Lorinus: If Resolve brings her A-game and Mordelain focuses his efforts, they will be able to eke out a victory. My vote for closest match.

League of Nightmares over Lute and Hammer: Same reasoning as Dirks.

Golden Dawn over Rage: I keep wanting to call them Golden Sun, which is the title of a B-tier RPG franchise that Nintendo and Camelot worked together on, and I'm really fond of the first two games. So, there's that.

I'll back up the predictions for My Little Homicidal Maniacs over Misery Business.

As Logan said, we had problems last round, but with no relatives in hospital, I can guarantee I'll be active enough to stab someone.

Apart from that, no predictions- I'd rather wait and see.

To be fair, Otto and I had to wait five days between postings for our partners, though I'd say the lackluster character was mostly my part because Eri was consumed by dust even without the interruption in flow waiting for a post. Ha ha. I'm pretty confident that we'll do much better this round. :D Huzzah for more time spent translating blackspeech!

I'm pretty confident that Plane Curiosity is going to win over Champions of Lornius. I don't really have a reason.

I'm also pretty excited about Rage vs. Golden Dawn. This could be the setup for a pretty epic thread, but at the same time one of Zook's coworkers just got fired so he may have a huge increase in work hours and blaaaah. I think as long as he can stay on task, this thread could easily take top score for the round, though I am biased. ;) This one is tough for me to pick a winner because I want to root for Golden Dawn since they've got an interesting story set up and be supportive of my husboo, but um... I also want to root for Rage for the same reasons, and also because I am biased as fuck.

I was fairly certain of Duffy in round one, and less so of Mord/Resolve. Having said that, I am really 'getting' me and Luned's interactions and ideals, so I'm much more confident we can thrive together in Round 2.

Assuming, as Andy says, I can remain focussed, and don't have an episode mid-swing.

Rage gets my vote for the other match, not sure elsewhere - someone will wipe Ciato's smirk off his face, though :cool:.
