There are countless battles via books, games, movies, text, rping, you name it ... there are a whole slew of disappointing battles.
These are my top two choices for "most disappointing battles" awards:
1.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcs2En6tGRw ... the black guy (One of the main bad guys of the whole film that is his equal in talent btw.).
Reason: One hit KO... I was hoping for an epic sword fight too :(
2.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngTP5L-dv5w
Reason: They just stand there, I was hoping for an epic battle like in the other ones but noooo.... lame.
Post yours.
You're kind of missing the point of the Equilibrium fight. The first time Cleric and the black dude fight, Cleric is in complete disarray, feeling for the first time perhaps ever. And even then his opponent only scores a tie. But once Cleric found his composure (or equilibrium ;)), he is in a league of his own. The whole point of the movie is that, while feelings might bring out the worst in us, they also rob us of the best in us.
Well, at least that's how I've always seen it.
I was more disappointed with the fight just before the encounter with the black dude, where six guys just come within arms reach with their swords still sheathed. That was just stupid on their part, or rather of the one who choreographed the sequence. I mean, the fight itself is good, but the logic behind it makes little sense. He is unarmed, and instead of drawing their swords and holding it at the ready (and thus making it more difficult for him to take it away from them) they just stand there. So by the time they are able to pull their swords out, two of them are already dead.

It does seem that the closest guy a the front is actually pointing the hilt of his sword towards his enemy.
I also read into that battle that when Bale and the black guy fought, Bale never really tried, that without a motivation to win Bale approached their battles as a practice and never had a reason to go full out. The black guy, blinded by his own arrogance never realised the difference between practice and actual battle. Its interesting how the black guy portrays a sort of sadistic arrogance throughout the movie even though he is supposed to be devoid of emotions. There is a suggestion (albeit a weak one IMO) that he is doing it to try and provoke Bale, but then he wouldn't approach the battle at the end the way he did if that was the case.
As for the last one, JK Rowling isn't an action writer, much of HP is a let down in terms of conflict and battles. Why is the stun spell, the one they teach to the kids, often used by higher mages during fights? The only interesting bit was Voldermort vs Dumbldore, and that followed the heavily used rock paper scissors method of mage fighting. If she tried to do that with Harry vs Vold, then it would have been heavily unrealistic that Harry would be able to defeat him. Instead she had to build in a lot of deus ex machina that almost painted the who cast useless. [/rant]
Anyway, battles...
Alien vs Predator: fail city in terms of battles. They instead go for 'awesome deaths', with many things dying suddenly despite being a super badass.
Bleach: All the captain battles at the end of the anime... Most are one hit kills, or just too painful to bother with... It was the last time we get to see them fight! I mean come on!
Otherwise in Man with the Iron Fists there are a few, but no clips to link to :(

Oh dear lets see,
The psuedo fight at the end of the Twilight series (I'm disapointed to admit I wasted time reading that steaming pile of crap)
They had it set up for a beautiful fight between two sides that would have made up for three books of drivel with a gory battle. Instead the two sides have one hell of a stare down and talk out their issues. Lame.
Any of E102 gammas "boss fights" in Sonic adventure are pretty lame too, particularly the last one against his old "brother" E101. Sure the music was epic, but I found the actual fight lacking in excitement. Plus the ending was disappointing.
The last remnant's entire battle system felt a tad lame and made it hard to get into the game
Fighting the Water dungeon boss from Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time was lame if you knew how to do the fast way, same with the shadow temple boss. Also killing twinrova with the giants mask and special milk in majoras mask was cake. Every boss was lame with the fierce deity mask.
Also I hear this one game Odyssey of the west(or something of that nature) for the Xbox 360 made the boss damn near unbeatable just to avoid the ending, in which the bastard falls and kills both main characters.

You're probably thinking of Lost Odyssey. Anywho....
The only one that really pops into my mind right now?
Neiji Vs Narutoduring the Chunin exams. Neiji is super bad ass and Naruto takes him out with one punch?!! I call bullshit.

Oh, and any fight between Rev and EI
Seriously, those things are full of fail between two otherwise great characters. : D

The opening cinematic of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
So many great characters taken out like professional wrestling jobbers.

Speaking of Mortal Kombat ... in Mortal Kombat Annihilation the "fight" with Sheeva with the chandler falling on her. Not to mention to witness the death of the epic of all fighters (in my opinion) Rain by means of "friendly fire":
Rain (the one in purple):

Sheeva (The four armed being):

Thats what I was getting at with the 'awesome death'. It is fast, probably a impressive or serves some plot point, but in the end fulfilling :/

If you want to talk about fail fights in Naruto look at sakura vs Ino in the chunin exams. That was lame.
Lost odyssey was fun at first but got old reaaaaly fast. Just like final fantasy thirteen, another fail.
Also the first "real" boss in The Last Story. Yay time to reinforce the slash mechanic by making it the most broken skill against this clown...

Ino Vs Sakura wasn't bad. It was one of my favorites in the Chunin exams, actually.

Gaara vs Lee blew all the other Chunin fights away. It still is my favorite battle to date in Naruto, and one of the best show cases of the animation style in the whole series. Compared to the other battles, Ino vs Sakura seemed mundane. Although the character exposition was good, the Hinata vs Neji was better in that respect.
Gaara vs Sasuke was pretty crap... There was Hayate Gekko vs Baki and of course Dozu vs Gaara...

Of ALL the terminator movies, THIS is the best fight you can think of? Really? Do I even have to mention why this battle was disappointing?
(Yes I do)
Throws him around (that's all) instead of snapping his neck easily... stands there, then VERY SLOWLY like a snail, follows him. On top of that, it isn't really Arnold.
