The Order of the Golden Dawn

Description: The Golden Dawn exists half in light, half in darkness. For the light of the Sun to rise, it must first pass through darkest night.

The Order of the Golden Dawn, known also by Stella Matutina and Argentum Astrum, seeks the dark mysteries of Althanas, to prevent their abuse. Artifacts and relics of bygone ages, as well as secret histories, are to be exposed to the light of the Order, and buried in its night.

Prenhafan, a small Sinai village in the nearly coastal jungles of Dheathain, south of Suthainn, and amongst the foothills of the Neahm mountain range, plays host to the Golden Dawn. It's leader, Cohen Ephraim, negotiated with village elders for residence, promising to lend his strength as a magician to their needs.

Membership: The Order is led, in the best of circumstances, by a council of its three founders. More realistically, members take their instructions from, and report to, any of the three founders, as they rarely find time to gather in Prenhafan.

Members are initiated into the Order either out of character, with a 50-100 gold donation, or in character, in an Order sponsored acquisition or investigation quest.

Current Roster:
Cohen Ephraim (Zook Murnig) - High Councilor

Ceidon Loré (Ceidon) - Councilor

Tshael Nito (Tshael) - Councilor

Rules: Stella Matutina is a very secretive organization. The things they study are of such a nature that they are not exposed lightly. While the existence of the Order is no secret, their activities should always be shrouded in mystery. Violation of this directive will bring about punitive action.

The initiated are encouraged to have other interests and to pursue them, so there is no rule against being in other power groups, nor governing their actions not in the interests of Argentum Astrum. However, should they come upon a situation where they must decide between revealing secrets of the Golden Dawn, and continued activity in another group, they are expected to choose according to the Order's interests or suffer the consequences.
