This includes a light leather jherkin, steel greaves, and reinforced arm supports. I'd like to pay the hair colouring (permanent), and associated style, as well.

I'd like to purchase:

One master-work monocle.

Two large, empty parchment books bound in leather with secure clasps.

These should be enchanted so that only Oliver can see the things written on the page, unless he wishes the reader to see. If possible, could they also be enchanted to resist water damage, ink spills, and general wear and tear (but not more forceful damage?) Depending on gold available.

Original sale price of items: 525 GP

Due to natural declination of value over time, the value is now closer to 475 GP. The shop keeper would only offer you 400GP initially, though. (We can rp out the haggling if you like).

He would be willing to make an even swap for the jherkin, greaves and arm supports. The hair coloring would be included at no additional charge, though the styling would tack on an additional 5 GP. (meaning you'd currently owe 5 GP for the hair).

The monocle would be roughly 30 GP.
The parchment books would be roughly 10 GP just for the books, no enchantment.

The enchantments would run roughly 125GP total for each book, bringing the total for both to 250GP.

For an additional 500GP you could also add an enchantment where what is written in one book would be visible in the other book.

So, what would you like to do?

I will have to settle for the books as described in the original post, sans the additional enchantment (though a nice idea).

I am just short I believe of the required gold, so I will forego the monocle for now sir.
