Tythiss

Tythiss made his way through the hustle and bustle of the Bazaar. His eyes bounced from one tent to another, the occasional person caught his eye as well. The variety was most impressive. His only experience was in Kachuck, sure there was an Elf now and again but here! He did notice more than a few people watched him as he moved through the crowd, but the Saurian paid them little mind as he was here to acquire items he would need for his journey.

First on the list was an alchemist shop.

Tythiss kept moving through the crowd, looking at the displayed wares, trying to identify a potential merchant that would suit his needs, and perchance, carry a few of the items he sought. Then something caught his attention, a smell. The Saurian's black, forked tongue fanned more prominently now.

Sage... Tythiss identified, And Lavender.

The scent was strongest off to his left, and began off in that direction with a hurried pace as his excitement became harder to hide, this was it! The start! His mind was overflowing with the potential that would be in this tent, the solutions, the ingredients. Oh the concoctions! From this drab and unassuming tent masterpiece will be born to this unassuming world!

Tythiss stepped through the entrance with such passion and prominence his power gauntlet tossing the flap to the side like the shackles that have held him back for so long. Standing there, stoically as the piece of fabric slowly drifted back into position. The sudden influx of daylight waned from the interior as Tythiss finally took the time to look over his unsuspecting partner's business.

There she was, humble and bent over her work, no doubt solving some ailment with simple plants. Tythiss cleared his throat and started for the counter his eyes never leaving his protege. She turned carrying her work, the Saurian eye dropped to behold the glory that bore. The glory of the, flower arrangement.

"Th..." Flower arrangement? The Saurian glanced frantically around and realised he had made a mistake. Looking again at the woman as she took her place behind the counter with a smile growing on her face. He smelled the sage, and lavender, clearly alchemical ingredients. Why then was he in a florist's boutique?

The flower.. That was it! Locking his eyes on the bouquet that was just finished and lovingly place upon the counter. There, it sat the two purple flowers of sage and lavender accenting one another's beauty. It was horrible. Wasted! Resources wasted for, for their scent!? Tythiss looked down disappointed audibly sighing before looking up.

"Alchemist's?" He questioned in common.

The shopkeeper's shoulders stooped just a fraction and she gave an all too practised speech, "Two tents left, northside." then turned back to her work, letting the Saurian walk out, picking up the pieces of his pride as he went.

Exiting the Florist's tent and slowly making the walk of shame to the correct establishment, Tythiss unceremoniously slid through the flap and lifted his eyes to see if he got this one right at least.

(( All of this assumes that I have starting gold. How would I look it up if I did, and if I don't I will still play this out ))
(( Edit The ever attentive Letho noticed this question and answered it ))

The young woman was fast at work upon her most recent experiment. Her notebook with scribbles only she could scarcely read sat draped open unceremoniously on the counter. Just as Tythiss slipped through the flap entrance, a cloud of smoke erupted from the small jar she was poised over, quickly filling the entire tent. The young woman coughed and gagged and without a word ushered Tythiss out onto the bustling street.

As she dusted herself off, she looked him over.

"My apologies, you happened upon one of my little experiments. Were you my Mother, this conversation would begin with an 'I told you so', followed by a wonderful accompaniment of 'you'll never find a man playing with potions all day.'"

She moved over to the tent entrance and pulled the flap open, exhausting fumes by flapping the, well, the flap.

Tythiss’ tongue flicked at the lady as he watched nervously fan her failure into the atmosphere.

“I hope that your experiments don’t end that way often. I am here for a few items, Chameleon Mineral, Sweet Oil and a few double flasks. Also, a small durable mortar and pestle for travel.” The Saurian said, bringing his gauntleted hand up to his chain and started to tap his muzzle as he spoke, “ I suppose a few dried out stems of lavender, Aloe and Peppermint would also do. I guess it would be wise to carry a few medicines…”

Without missing a beat he continued, oblivious to what the woman was doing “ I also need to locate a Hidesman, to purchase some leather, a Clothier too I suppose for a few tools to make the belt… A pickaxe; I will need one of those too. I should probably learn to use a bow and just get my own leather. I mean, how hard could it be? I made the PWRPK I imagine letting dead skin dry wouldn’t be much of a challenge at all.”

Pausing finally, to look up at the woman, waiting expectantly.

She eyed him curiously. His list was quite...extensive. As the smoke completely cleared from the tent, she peaked inside saying nothing as she entered. There was the matter of calculations of the list of items he wanted, and while she was quite the scientist at heart, she was by no means a mathematician. Grabbing a notepad from the counter, she jotted down his list and the various prices for each item and then tabulated the amount.

"Well, sir, it appears your total for everything excepting the tools and leather items comes to sixty-five gold pieces. I can also help you locate a tanner for the leather, if you so desire. No charge for that."

" Except the tools? Now the Mortar and Pestle are a tool, so are those on the excepted list? Also, 65 gold? I don't believe I specified an amount for the Double flasks. Well I did. A few is typically three and by three I meant five." The saurian prattled as his excitement began to boil over.

"I would gladly accept your help in finding a tanner. Now, how about a tool shoppe for the pick axe and perhaps a tailor for a needle and thread? Would a tailor's needle work on leather? A leather worker then! They are sure to have the needles I need. Perhaps even a utility belt for sale so I won't have to make one?" He stops, looking at her again waiting for answers to his rapid fire questions.

She hesitated as his sudden barrage of questions.

"Well, let's see, the 65 was for everything I could provide, which yes, by my calculations does indeed include the mortar and pestle."

Pulling out a large parchment she draped it over the counter and then pointed down to a marking on the map.

"We are here. The tanner can be found here."

The words came as she traced a line along a couple of alleyways and then stopped on a rather small nondescript structure.

"Actually, you will want the tanner for both the tanning and the leather working as his brother does all the leather work for him, and usually at somewhat of a discount. As for the utility belt, you would have to ask them."

She eyed him as she awaited his response on the 65 gold piece transaction.

Tythiss looked over everything then at the woman again.

"Agreed." Tythiss drew a small purse that was hanging from his PWRPK and began to count out the payment.

"Just wrap the Mortar and Pestle in with the herbs until I can get a means to carry it easier." The saurian added between his counting. When he reached the agreed upon amount he looked up again, making sure she agreed with the count.

She did as he requested, carefully wrapping everything together. Once he had counted out the 65 gold pieces, she nodded satisfactorily.

"Okay, so that is the 65 gold pieces, I think we are all settled here."

As she finished the last line, she pulled a few items from behind her counter and began to 'experiment' again. It was probably in Tythiss' best interest to leave quickly...

{{OOC: Did you want to continue with him heading to the tanner now or make a separate thread?}}

(( Continue ))

If Tythiss were a mammal, his eyes would have widened at the sight of her beginning her haphazard science in the name of mayhem. Clutching his bindle, the Saurian turn and nearly dove through the flap of the tent to safety.

"Get Back!!" Tythiss hollered at the innocent soon to be victims of the bazaar. "She is mixing an alchemical disaster that you don't want to be a part of!" He then hunched into a mobile fetal position and ran. Taking time after a few meters to see the crowds reaction.

If he had lips he would smile at his little foolishness.

Leatherworker! He reminded himself and started to head off in the direction that was indicated to him. He stopped only a few times, to allow the merchants time to peddle their wares before moving on to the next store that caught his eye. It was not too long before he arrived at the Leatherworker. His tongue sampled the air, now thick with resin and hide.

Tythiss walked up, looking at the craftsmanship, then stopped and waited to be acknowledged, knowing the importance of not interrupting work.
