History: After two years (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?23996-Lord-Tiger-(Arden-Janelle-Level-Four)&highlight=), Arden Janelle has come home. With the Greater Oni defeated, and Akashima saved, the silent swordsman has left democracy to rebuild his ancestral heartland on its own merit. When the Komodo drove his sword through Arden’s heart, his fire died. The demon that had started to consume him after falling for the darkness was sated. Though it left his spiritual center in ruins, and his connection with the blood magic of his ancestors weakened, he found a new lease of life after he reincarnated.

He remembered who he was, and what he had been in Scara Brae. After a long journey over the war-torn sea, he and Lillith Kazumi find themselves thrown back into the world they thought left in the past. In his absence, Rouge and Leper have kept the Scourge’s name burnt into the island’s citizens. They are on the rise as ever, and though it has been a long time since he assassinated a prominent Knight of Scara Brae, the Silent Swordsman intends to resume his plan.

He will become the Maester of the Scourge.

He will destroy the Knights of Scara Brae.

He will make the island a safer, brighter, freer place for all.

Personality: Blank is a kind but solemn creature. He seldom smiles. After a long war, he has become more altruistic to aiding those who cannot help themselves. He is hot headed, but at the same time he always on the level in combat, able to internalise his troubles and pain back into the intimidation and riling of his opponent’s mettle. Blank’s personality might be an enigma to many, and come across as dark and foreboding, if not mythical, but he is ultimately a conflicted man with mortal emotions, loves, and lusts.

Skills:

Coercion: It is in Arden’s interest to know how to manipulate. He can coerce people to follow his commands, do his bidding, and fall in line. His command is like a bark, a soft whisper, and a terrifying roar all at once. At an adept level, he can attempt to sway the acts of others to his advantage, if not outright scare them into line.

Escapology: grasp of the fundamental skills required to escape not just bonds, but cells, cages, and prisons as well. This includes, but is not limited to, untying knots, picking locks, climbing and surmounting walls with low resources. He can make makeshift keys and climbing equipment with very little to hand.

Knowledge (Criminal): Little in Scara Brae’s criminal underworld is beyond Arden’s understanding. He knows the families, their trades, and the bases of operations. The codes, laws, and statutes that underpin the unlawful are adept in his memory. He can use this knowledge to his financial and political advantage within the criminal community of the island.

Knowledge (Scara Brae): Arden has an adept understanding of the history and culture of Scara Brae. He is familiar with laws, dialects, and regions. He can recite the names of the barons, their extended families, and royal succession back a thousand years. Knowledge of its dances, songs, and poetry does not warrant ability to appreciate or perform them.

Swordplay (Single Handed Bladed Weapons): Arden has many names in Scara Brae. Whilst people call him The Hound, the Right Hand, and the Scourge, his most infamous alias is the Silent Swordsman. His skill with a single-handed blade is masterful, and he understands the concept of swordplay, defence, and movement in combat.

Abilities:

The Aria: Arden manifests a curious representation of The Aria. Although his companions use The Aria to create, the Silent Swordsman’s power lies in destruction. He takes what his allies give. He consumes minds, voices, and communication. He is the embodiment of the much maligned ‘Writer’s Block’, and all that crippling fatigue entails to a playwright.

Erase: Arden can erase non-magical writing at the rate of five square feet per concerted effort. This allows him to delete a solitary line almost instantly. It is a draining process, regardless of his physical condition. Regardless of progression, he will never be able to erase magical text or literary items enchanted with sorcery.

Blink: By manipulating history itself, Arden can blink himself from existence. He flitters between Althanas and The Aria for two seconds. He will re-appear in exactly the same place when stationary. He will continue with the same momentum if mobile. He can use this to dodge obvious projectiles, dash through opponents to attack from behind, and walk through walls. It takes focus to activate at present and is useable five times per thread.

Silence: Arden can conjure sphere 5ft wide up to twenty feet away. The sphere negates all sound within. Arden can maintain the sphere almost indefinitely, but cannot use any other Aria ability whilst doing so. The noise is only inaudible, it does not cause asphyxia, nor does it prevent telepathic communication.

Street Fighter: Arden is an agile fighter capable of erratic running, climbing and acrobatics. In combat, his speed is double that of a normal human male. As he is blind in his right eye, he cannot aim well, and is prone to misjudging distance if he pushes his physical abilities too far, leading to falls. Having lived much of life in Scara Brae’s Scourge, Arden is hardy and resilient. His stamina is X1.5 that of a normal human male.

Blood Magic: Arden is slowly rediscovering the abilities sealed away by his jealous father. He can wield the forbidden Blood Magic of ancient Akashiman spirit warders. This draws on the life force found in living things. His grasp of the basics are becoming competent, but he is still very much a novitiate, despite his recent endeavours in his homeland.

Blood Fang: If Arden is not careful, use of Blood Magic can incite a hunger for blood. He must never use it for ill, nor allow its power to incite guilt, jealousy, or rage in his heart. In combat, each kill causes his front canines to elongate. Each death inflicts one point of potency. When this hits five points in a given battle or thread, he can no longer use his Blood Magic. If it ever reaches ten points, only unconsciousness, or death, can vent the oni within.

Blood Wing: At will, Arden can summon wings of blood from his shoulders by spending spilt blood. The blood may be from an injury anywhere on his body. Blood wings require a full post to conjure. When they are manifest, he can maintain limited gliding and X2 movement as if winged for two posts. The wings respond to all physical stimuli, though if damaged or destroyed, cause no pain.

Blood Heart: Any blood drawn with Kerria collects in the vial built into the handle. Arden can imbue his own weapons with that blood, and bind an imprint of the owner’s soul into the blade. This will allow the blade to deliver a self-correcting strike to the heart of anyone whose blood is on them, as long as they are newly dead, within an hour, and their injuries not too great for the magic to overcome. This resurrection has severe limitations, the greatest of which is the person's consent to conduct the ritual to begin with, as anyone that steps into hell and returns drenched in sacrifice, can never do so unscathed.

Inventory (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25480-De-clawing-A-Tiger):

The Mastiff: A steel full-plate suit with a moulded pauldron on the right shoulder (as depicted above). The pauldron contains an enchantment that allows Arden to conjure a shadowy mastiff (once per battle, three times in a quest). The mastiff can survive three effective blows from spells or weapons, but will automatically vanish in strong fire, light, or if Arden falls unconscious (or dies). It's bite is X3 strength, and it runs at X2 speed). The suit itself carries an aura of respect in Scara Brae, as it is associated with the Scourge.

The Fang: Fang is a single-edged blade. It is as strong as mithril. It has a small loop on the butt of the pommel to attach a kunai and chain. Whenever bloodied in battle, the blood draws into the hilt and into the pommel. This provides one charge for use in casting blood magic spells per strike. People wounded by the blade find themselves bleeding more than they should if the sword has already tasted the target's blood. The sword itself is unbreakable by non-magical means.

The Fur: A demi-cloak that can extend to a full length, hooded, or over the shoulder variant with command. it is blood red in colour, and can be manipulated with thought to move in any way physically possible.

The Claws: Two steel swords, single-edged, which fit into a single large over-the-shoulder scabbard. They possess no magical properties yet, though one is a long sword, the other short.

Looks good. Approved.

Obviously, take care to use coersion as a skill & not an ability.
