Name: Victor Kalyem
Age: 29
Race: Human
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Light Blue
Height: 5'11
Weight: 170 lbs
Occupation: Mercenary

Personality: Victor is a very reserved person, often coming across as rude or cold. From his late youth he felt an increasing need to become detached from the world, for fear of losing someone he lets get too close. Contrary to expectation, this was not caused by the death of his parents, but rather by his self-imposed exile and the belief that attachment would make him weak as a mercenary. One might say this detachment is merely concealing a warm true nature, but virtually nobody has seen anything other than the facade. More importantly, however, Victor has a moral code, one he set out years ago, and follows absolutely. This code is in five parts: 1. Uphold and protect the dignity of all persons. 2. Never take a job that involves an attack on the innocent. 3. Never abandon a job that involves protecting the innocent. 4. Cooperate with anybody who will protect the innocent. 5. Oppose anybody who would harm the innocent.

Appearance: Victor is not very tall or otherwise very striking as a person, but is best described as "a little bit stocky" in his musculature. His dark hair frames a face not often seen, as he prefers anonymity and facelessness behind his helmet or under his hood. The face itself is not very striking or handsome, being rather rounded and surprisingly devoid of scars, save one on his cheek (from an embarrassing accident when he was child). He wears his armor most of the time, with a hooded black traveling cloak over it. His face is always completely covered with a crude two-piece mask of leather and cloth. Blue eyes look out from the eye-holes of his mask, with the curious property of looking either distant, tightly focussed, or even evil. His voice is deeper than one might expect, around the bass-baritone range.

History: Victor grew up the son of a herding family on the flatlands of the Yarborough Barony, in Coroné. From his childhood until he was about twenty he worked with his parents, brother, and two sisters at the trade of herding. When he was twenty, he decided he had had enough of the quiet herder's life, and set out for Gisela. While there he quickly found himself at odds with the various criminal elements of the city, and joined a mercenary company on impulse for protection. While there he learned how to defend himself, and grew to love fighting and training so much he decided he wanted to be a mercenary for a living. Tragedy struck when the head of the mercenary company died from sudden illness, and the company disbanded shortly after. Victor left Gisela after that and began traveling as a mercenary, at this time formalizing his moral code and adopting his mask and persona. During his travels, he eventually returned to his home ranch, unrecognized by even his family, and learned that his parents had both died in a stampede a year ago. Rather than grieve, Victor simply left again, and continued his wandering life, as he does today.

Skills: Skilled with his halberd as well as the crossbow. Also a very competent rider, but not skilled in mounted combat. Decent in theory but very out of practice at leather-working, having learned on previous versions of his mask.

Abilities: Endurance above and beyond the average human level (about 1.5x the norm) thanks to his training and build.

Equipment: As his primary weapon Victor wields a flat-bladed halberd, with a steel head and a six-foot ash haft. As a backup to it, sheathed close to his chest, is a straight dagger for close-range emergency combat. His secondary weapon, not often used, is a simple crossbow. His armor consists of a brigandine over a mail shirt, leather gauntlets and greaves, and a simple barbute helmet. Underneath the helmet he wears his mask, consisting of two attached pieces: a self-molded leather piece covering his forehead down to his nose, and a canvas rectangle that hangs down to his chin.

Did you intentionally list no abilities? I'm only asking because there is an Abilities section with nothing in it.

Yes, that was intentional. I wasn't sure what to do with the section itself; I figured if I just took it out you'd ask where it went. Should I just take it out altogether?

EDIT: However, after some consideration, I'm adding an ability.
