History: When the Forgotten One Oblivion hid himself in the tomes of history, he divided his spirit into five smaller pieces. Four became independent, now free of their curse. They are Duffy, Ruby, Lillith, and Arden. The fifth, hidden from Oblivion upon his return, remains bound in amnesia and limited by his ignorance. His name, now known amongst the citizens of Scara Brae as the leader of the Fugitive Players, is Pettigrew Jones.

Over the years, Pettigrew felt shielded from the wider struggles of the troupe. As the eldest of the orphans in the Tantalum’s protection, he fortunately had the responsibility of looking after the playhouse in the senior member’s absence. As such, he has become a father figure, despite his young age, to the younger members of the Fugitive Players. After the troupe disbanded, and left to fight wars on foreign shores, Pettigrew was lost.

He had no idea what to do with his life.

He started his own troupe, with the former members of the Tantalum that remained in Scara Brae, and refined his ‘art’ over the course of three years. It took him that long to get ready. It took Lisa and Minnelli, the enigmatic and same-sex duo, that long to get their equipment back. Everything they owned destroyed when the Prima Vista fell. They remained determined. Determination, as far as the theatrical life goes, counts for everything.

Pettigrew has started to realise that he is more involved with Duffy and Ruby then he realised. Although he has always looked up to them as a father and mother figure, when they return to the island to settle, Pettigrew’s world is threatened. He meets them on the day of his troupe’s début performance, and everything he has worked for in recent months is threatened. Sometimes, a man’s past will catch up to him.

What makes or breaks a person’s meteoric rise, however, is how he does battle with the shadows he himself has created in his wake.

The Crow with no Wings intends to fight to his very last, for whatever the whim of the gods, he is not going to accept that he is just another pawn in an ancient war between five siblings, the Tap, and an incorrigible desire in mortal creatures to live forever.

Personality: Pettigrew is a plucky, happy go lucky soul. However, young in appearance, his reincarnations carry down through each new body. Though intelligence is only above average, his emotional intelligence is wise beyond even his innumerable years. He is intuitive, kind, and altruistic, but also able to lead, and command, beyond his heart’s desires.

He strongly believes that respect comes from earning it, and not from titles, money, and fame. This oft gets him into trouble, with the city guard and the wider populous of Scara Brae at large. He is quick to defend his troupe, for they, as ever, are his family. He is fervently loyal; both to his ideals and his friends, and this can often get him in hot water, even though he is otherwise cold and calculating in his approach to problem solving.

Because of his curse, Pettigrew Jones has never experience love. If he has, in a past life, he does not have the privilege of remembering it. He is emotionally intelligent in the sense of noticing other’s needs, and his responses, but he knows virtually nothing about intimate relationships between people, especially when is one of the people involved.

Skills:

Actor: Pettigrew is a solid actor, with particular skill with action. He is flexible, agile, and quick-witted, and is a dab hand with mock swords of various descriptions. He is still only above average by the standards of the Tantalum.

Street Runner: Growing up on the streets has advantages. Pettigrew is quick on his feet, can dodge danger, slip in and out of crowds, and disappear at will. This gives him above average ability to disappear in towns, villages, and cities.

Pickpocket: Pettigrew knows how to make a dishonest living. He can pick pockets, cut purses, and pilfer market produce from average citizens to an average degree. He cannot steal magical items, or those from players of a higher level.

Knowledge (Scara Brae): Having spent most of his lives here, there is little about Scara Brae’s streets, culture, and laws that Pettigrew does not know. Considering he has broken or hidden in most of them, he has adept understanding.

Abilities: Still bound by Oblivion’s curse, Pettigrew has not been able to access the true nature and extent of his Aria abilities. Unlike his siblings, he has only scratched the surface. In order to awaken his powers, he will have to go through the same trials and tribulations every other avatar has had to in recent decades. That is, of course, if he believes Duffy when he is told, and if he chooses to risk allowing Oblivion a foothold in the world once more. He is every bit the ‘boy who should not be’, and that carries into his abilities, and his attitude.

Defy Space: Once per thread, Pettigrew can teleport alone. The distance is dependent on adrenaline levels, and it requires considerable time to ‘charge’. Thus, it has no application in the Citadel.

Defy Time: Pettigrew is an avatar of the Thayne Tantalus. He is, for all intent and purpose, in a waking stasis. He is immortal, but ages during each incarnation at an immensely slowed rate.

Defy Gravity: Pettigrew can defy gravity. He can walk walls, with relative physics. This allows him to suspend from ceilings, evade danger, and reach places otherwise unreachable. 30 seconds per use, three per thread.

Inventory: Pettigrew has, and will always prefer a simple lifestyle. Save for a meagre collection of clothing, the majority of his ‘possessions’ come from the playhouse of the Fugitive Players. He can appear in a variety of clothing, has access to simple props, cheap costume jewellery, and accessories, and is never without food, drink, and a place to stay. He is, by all means, ‘in poverty’, by any convention of Scara Brae’s economic system.

I probably don't have to tell you that while he might be immortal, he is not in any way immune to injuries.

I would also prefer that Defy Gravity has a duration of sorts. 20-30 seconds before cooldown maybe?

Hi Letho.

Like the rest of the troupe, Pettigrew is, as you say, not immune to injuries. When he dies from his wounds, he is reincarnated like Duffy and so forth, in a new body, perhaps with new memories and likely no recollection (yet) of past lives.

The cool down is acceptable.
