Ashley
06-19-13, 03:18 PM
Name: Ashley Whisperwind
Age: 9
Race: High Elf
Hair Color: Platinum
Eye Color: Pale Green
Height: 3'9"
Weight: 59 lbs
Occupation: Adventurer

Personality: Ashley is desperate to prove that her age won't hold her back, but her shortcomings, and childish nature frequently make it through her veil. Always ready for adventure and improving her skills, she frequently dives head first into a challenge. She's generally cocky, but can be serious when she really needs to be. She tries to maintain a courageous outer shell, but really she's still just a child. She is terribly afraid of thunderstorms.

Appearance: Ashley is a sprightly little elf. Her straight platinum hair reaches just past her shoulder blades, with her bangs tucked behind her ears as to not obscure her vision. Her pale green eyes are the brightest color on her face, drawing attention from her light skin. Her cheeks are round and childish, and generally she could be considered cute. Adorning her neck is a small silver charm, on a silver chain, in the shape of an oak leaf. Her simple hide armor mostly covers her up, only her arms and face exposed, with a small gap appearing between her waistband and the hem of her vest as she grows taller. Beneath that she wears a set of simple linens. Her oak shortbow, and sizable quiver are usually secured over her back, easy and quick to access. On her right hand she wears a hide shooting glove, to protect her delicate fingers from the bowstring. Her dagger sits in a small sheath on her waist, with a small pouch fastened on the opposite side.

Skills:

- Marksmanship: Trained, and effective with shortbows.

- Fletching: Skilled in crafting fresh new wooden arrows.

- Herbalist: Novice in natural medicine. Can use gathered herbs and plants to stop bleeding, soothe pain, cure basic poisons, or speed healing.

- Flute playing: She can produce beautiful sounds with her hand crafted wooden flute, to boost morale or just pass the time.

Abilities:

- Wind Magic: Ashley's feeble strength makes the use of powerful bows impractical. Instead, using one with less drawback weight, she increases the speed and power of her arrows by guiding them with magical wind to bring them on par with a heavier bow. Allows for very slight adjustments in trajectory. When arrows are in short supply, she can use her bow to fire conjured arrows made completely from wind. This however has more of a drain on her endurance. She can quickly conjure small walls of wind, suitable for defense, to block, or at least reduce the power of a received attack. Less effective against projectiles.

- Copy Cat: She can create up to two simultaneous illusions of herself, that move and react independently. They cannot inflict damage, and when attacked they vanish. When the real one is struck, all illusions vanish. Can manage four conjurations per day.

- Improved Reflexes: Her Elvish origin grants her a slightly improved ability to dodge, perceive, and react. Also increases her accuracy with bows.

Weaknesses: Her young age and small stature means her strength is minimal. Low physical endurance.

Equipment:

- Oak shortbow.
- Bundle of oak arrows.
- Hide Quiver
- Iron dagger
- Hide vest
- Hide pants.
- Hide boots.
- Hide shooting glove

Familiar: Having no special abilities or traits, and only serving as a travel companion, Ashley has a small black and white cat.

History: Being only nine years old, Ashley doesn't have a deep and complex past. She was born to two elven parents in a small village in Raiaera. She was trained in the art of marksmanship and fletching by her father, to carry on the family lineage of skilled hunters, and if ever necessary, as a means to protect herself from the hoards of undead still roaming the country. Her magic developed naturally as she trained, adapting to cover her shortfalls. On one windy and rainy night, she is awoken by a clap of thunder, and the moans of the undead. Her parents are nowhere to be found, and the streets are overrun with shambling monsters. She quickly gears up, hoping to go look for them, but is forced to flee when the undead horrors prove to be too much. She never returned back home, and never did find her parents, but hopes to one day. It's only been six months since, but she's recovered from the ordeal, and has yet to settle down, wandering about as an adventurer to support herself, and improve her skills. One mark that night has left on her however, is a crippling fear of thunderstorms.

Wind Magic covers a lot of different uses, but I'm going to allow it as long as you remember that all effects should be relatively weak for now.

You are approved. Welcome to Althanas.
