“As long as I live, no oni shall haunt my family’s souls.”
Alias: Neko
Gender: Male
Race: Nekojin
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 125lbs
Eye Colour: Green
Hair Colour: Red
Religion: Shinto
Alignment: Lawful Good
Occupation: Spirit-Warder
Intelligence: Average
Literacy: Below Average
Skills:
Knowledge (Akashima): Kahoka’s grasp of Akashiman culture is adept, taught from a young age about the history of all the races, the god wars, and the various traditions that keep the small but rich country alive in the minds of its people.
Knife Fighting: Kahoka fights with the style of his people, quick strikes, lithe feints, and almost water-like dancing form and unpredictable, though finesse-less offense. He is an above average fighter with knife-like weapons.
Tracking: Kahoka can track animals and people through woodland and open plain terrain, geography typically found in Akashima, at an average level. He relies primarily on smell, which is easy to mask.
Knowledge (I-Ching): Neko is still below average at I-Ching, the spirit warder arts. He can utilise kanji in a variety of ways, some devastating, some subtle…regardless, they can only ever be used on kami or oni, or other spirit warders (with prior consent).
Abilities:
Cantankerous: Whilst a nekojin is unnaturally quick, the unique bone structure comes at a disadvantage. They have X2 agility, but -0.75 dexterity, reaction times, and stamina.
Feline Senses: Neko has X2 sense of smell and hearing, but -0.5 sight, and he sees in black and white in the daytime. This adjusts to X.1.5 sense of smell and hearing, and -0.75 at night.
Cleanse Spirit: In its simplest form, the I-Ching can damage weak-willed spirits, ward against weak kami, and ease passing for the dead and dying. Once per thread, Neko can perform one of these variants with kanji and ritual.
Inventory: The Nekojin live a nomadic lifestyle, carrying with them only what they need to perform their duties, and to survive. Neko, though without a home to go to, is no exception to this tradition.
Red Scarf: A red demi-scarf that belonged to Kahoka’s father. It came to him as a coming of age heirloom. It is made of silk, and wards against will-o-wisps.
Kahoka Clan Tanto: A blade, which resembles a tanto in function, if not appearance. It is a single edged obsidian weapon, with a red hilt, and a black tint. It is steel, but polished with glass dust.
I-Ching Codex: Kahoka carries a small I-Ching codex, scrolls, ink, and various non-magical charms and talismans. He has a quill, pouch, and various chalk dusts as well.
Kahoka Clan Armour: A lightweight, non-restrictive suit of armour covering critical parts of the body. It is made of felt lined steel plates with an obsidian, brass, and leather trim.
Ancestral Tanto: Six, smaller bladed tanto, representing the six direct relatives to Kahoka that died in the Massacre at Chonju. They are irreplaceable, and unsellable, and have steel blades.
