Thin white teeth glistened.
“So you have decided to become a Six?” The voice cracked, smoky and deep through the cruel grin.
The demon's pale eyes sized up the man as the words hung in the hot air. The arena has been specially requested by Red. A perfect circle of stone fifty feet wide sat in an endless sea of lava. There was no sun, just the dull glow of molten rock. It would have been unbearably hot if not for the constant stream of cold air being pushed down onto the platform from above. Even still it was unpleasant. Red sat cross legged on a large flat stone in the middle of the arena. Spread around him were four large pillars reaching several metres into the air and a metre thick. His sword, the aptly named Mr Stabby, lay across legs.
Today he was testing a potential recruit for the Red Six, a loose clan that had surfaced recently as he, or rather his alter ego Talen had decided that the world could do with a bit more colour. Initiations into the Six were rarely without blood, and always with violence. It was the way of those drawn to the Six to fight. Sometimes for good, sometimes not.
Red rose, standing on the previous seat and lifting his sword towards Ahk'Ran. The demon was unmistakably of the Red Six. His skin was a dark blood red and dozens of black sixes of all shapes and sizes haphazardly covered his skin. He wore simple black pants and shoes, his chest was already glistening with sweat from the heat.
“I am here to test you.” His face twisted into an inhumanly wide smile, showing off even more pointed teeth. “Prepare yourself in whatever way your people do, then come at me.”
