Changes made in red. Reworked abilities and skills sections are justified ICly through this thread (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25566-In-which-a-delivery-is-made-and-our-hero-is-inconvenienced&p=210719&viewfull=1#post210719), and have been powered up to reflect her current level.

Name: Madison Freebird
Age: 28
Race: Human
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5'7
Weight: 126 lbs.
Occupation: Retired assassin, bookstore owner

Personality: Madison is the type of person who keeps to herself as much as possible. She's confident to the point of seeming arrogant. Despite her years out of the assassination game has mellowed her somewhat, Madison is still a violent and occasionally unpleasant person to be around. On the flip side of the coin, she is very cunning and calculating, able to analyze the current situation and work her way out of it no matter the cost. She has a very dry, sarcastic approach to conversation and interaction with other living beings

Appearance: Her facial features are thin and pale; her deep blue eyes, raven-black hair, and constantly vacant expression giving her a crow-like appearance. Her body follows suit--thin and lacking in "assets". She isn't ugly, but she's not something most men (who weren't into creepy things) would look at twice. As part of the price paid from making deals with demons, she is currently missing her right arm.

As for clothing, her tastes are rather conservative. Her battle gear consists of a sifan hooded cloak as black as the night, and a drakescale corset with a bluish-purple tint to the scales to protect her abdomen. Whenever she's not on a mission or at a fight, she tends to wear the business casual ensemble that her family is accustomed to wearing; a black button-up shirt with tight-fitting black vest over it, with black slacks and boots.

Skills:

"I was trained in the art of kicking your ass!": Madison had been training in hand-to-hand combat since the age of eleven, and has a legendary level of skill in the art. Dodging and parrying the attacks of someone of equal skill is no great feat for her, even if they are wielding a weapon.

Artificing: Madison has an advanced knowledge of the creation of and operation of steam-based technologies and humanoid constructs. She has an highly advanced knowledge of steam-based weapons systems, and a basic but working knowledge of Aleraran aviation technology. At this point, the strongest materials she is able to work with are delyn for metals, trakym for wood, drakescale hides, and golem carapaces.

Humanoid constructs themselves will operate with 3x human strength and speed, 4x human endurance, and the intelligence of an average 18-year-old human. She can build them to each carry two weapons systems; one ranged (similar to a crossbow) and one melee. Constructs will make noise due to the steam-and-clockwork-based operating systems, which are unable to be silenced. The constructs will be autonomous thanks to an alchemic rune emblazoned in their innards, located near the base of their "spine". Should the rune be destroyed, the construct will cease to operate. Rather than sets of conventional eyes and ears, constructs will be able to sense their surroundings through the magic of the runes, in a field that extends all around them with a radius of thirty feet. Madison is able to communicate with these constructs through telepathy, from up to two miles away. Constructs will not be able to fight for Madison in the Citadel or in tournaments, unless approved by opponents OOCly.

Aleraran Alchemy: Madison has advanced knowledge in chemistry, physics, and biology, and an above average understanding of astronomy. Using this knowledge, she is able to create potions, poisons, explosives, and fluids required to operate her artifacts and constructs. Her knowledge of runic alchemy extends to granting "life" to her machines. She is able to adjust the runes she creates to alter the "personality" of her constructs, but she must remove the original rune before replacing it with a new one. The rune rewrite process takes several minutes.

Fungus Among Us: Madison has taken in interest in the biology of fungi, and has discovered a way to weaponize deadly spores that spread, grow, and destroy the victim's tissue at a slow but noticeable rate. Effects of infection include intense headaches, blurred vision, dulled senses, and lowered agility. If left untreated through basic healing magic or medicine for longer than four days, the victim will die.

Genetic Engineering: Over the course of her studies, and with the help of her ill-acquired knowledge, Madison has an advanced understanding of genetic splicing, manipulation, and engineering. In her lab, she is able to combine various aspects of flora and fauna to create monstrosities able to do her bidding. With her current abilities, she only knows how to combine aspects of two separate lifeforms; and her monsters tend to have a shortened lifespan of several months before succumbing to death or psychosis.

Abilities:

One tough bitch: Madison can take four times the amount of blunt physical and six times the magical punishment that a normal, fit human being can.

Madison is twice as fast and agile as the average, fit human when she needs to be.

"I'm about to unleash my rage": Never truly able to conquer her anger issues, Madison's sudden fits of violence can be used to her advantage. Sucker punches and low blows deal twice as much damage as her regular physical attacks.

History (in handy elevator pitch form):

Madison was born into a family famous in many of Corone's darker corners as a clan of reliable assassins. Raised from youth to be a vicious stalker, Madison's dreams laid elsewhere. She had always wanted to be, for a lack of a better term, a mad scientist; rather than slitting throats and stabbing backs, she wanted to be inventing artifacts of untold value and building construct both monstrous and beneficial. After a career early in life as a relatively unsuccessful assassin, she quit the business after a misunderstanding that stemmed from her brother Trevor's untimely death and escaped to the Dajas Pagoda in Scara Brae, where she spent her time as a Warrior, giving hard lessons to fighters who had come to the Pagoda to learn the art of combat.

After a severe mental breakdown brought on by nightmares of her previous profession and the stresses of being a Warrior, she resigned her post and retired to a small bookstore in the heart of Radasanth, where she quietly lived her life and spent her evenings returning to her childhood dreams of alchemy and artificing. One fateful night, however, her mother and brother arrived in the dead of night, and burned down her bookstore and all the dreams and rare tomes contained within.

Swearing revenge, Madison uncovered one tome and made a trip to a small town in the middle of Concordia, where she sacrificed an archivist to the Keeper of Knowledge, Maladim Karunungan. It was with him that she brokered an exchange of knowledge; her skills and memories as an assassin for the knowledge necessary to fulfill her childhood dreams.

Equipment:

A small leather satchel to carry anything she may pick up along her way
Fifty feet of delyn wire (now utterly useless without her telekinesis)
Drakescale corset
Hooded sifan cloak (masterwork)
Two delyn daggers with spidersilk handles and 8" blades (masterwork).
Damascus butterfly knife, enchanted to be completely silent (masterwork)
Six steel throwing knives
Two silvered steel knuckle dusters with four quarter-inch long mythril spikes on each.
A small vial containing two grams of paralyzing powder--on average, half of a gram will be enough to paralyze for one minute.

Looks good. I see that you added a bit more strength to the constructs than originally requested in your thread, but I note that even with those extra abilities added to Madison's you are still below the power level requirements for level 5. Accordingly, you are approved.

Given the potential longevity of each construct, I will ask you to purchase (or craft) their individual weapons from the bazaar if you plan to use them in competitive RP (i.e. battles, tournaments, etc.). If one construct becomes a mainstay or develops its own personality, please PM an operations moderator. One of us will reopen this thread and you can add it as an NPC.
