Chronicle is always willing to consider anyone with interest in the organization, but first and foremost, affiliation hinges on how a person's ambitions and reputation complement our mission. Be sure to read the following information thoroughly, and think carefully on what you hope to get out of such an affiliation.

Background Check: (This is your opportunity to confess any blemishes on your record, past misdeeds and the like. You don't want to know what will happen if we discover you lied in this section. Capiche?)

Not all who apply will gain affiliation with Chronicle. We maintain the right to accept and reject applicants at our discretion and will correspond via PM if more information is necessary to process your application.

Sidenote: As someone who generally detests the concept of these things, consider Chronicle to be the anti-PG. We don't want minions –– we want colleagues, cohorts, coconspirators. We have affiliates, not members. This distinction is very important in the dynamics of the group we're assembling.



Background


Sometimes people grow tired of being pawns, longing to restore order to the broken parts of the world. For too long, those in positions of authority have shirked responsibilities. The births and ruins of so many failed empires have left the regions scarred over the ages, traumatizing not only their histories, but the lands and lives within.

For centuries, Leopold Winchester has grown tired. But, as circumstances have turned in his favor, he has conjured the resources to rebuild the crumbling societies of Althanas.

In the treacherous tundra of Berevar, he came to know a kindred spirit in Luned, and somewhere between madness and melancholia, Duffy met the spark their trials ignited. Their drive to act as agents of change brought them together, and hence Chronicle came to be.


Goals


The keyword to Chronicle is balance –– true neutrality. "Good" and "evil" are subjective, problematic labels which only complicate one's attempt to navigate the endless expanse of varying gray which composes Althanas and the many facets of its cultures, peoples, and problems.

Chronicle endeavors to foster balance by tearing down abusive and neglectful powers, then rebuilding stronger, fairer foundations where they stood. Immediate need for intervention can be seen in the Imperial control on Radasanth and Salvar's own political turmoil, though pet projects by affiliates in other regions are encouraged and supported.


Structure


Chronicle isn't operated under a hierarchy as much as an organic network. While the three founders do hold positions of leadership within the organization, recruits are generally considered as equals. All are responsible for their part in keeping watch on movements of the shadow and light across Althanas, as well as the conflicts in between.

There are generally two types of interested parties: those already in ownership of a cause, who wish to share resources with Chronicle and reap the benefits of collaboration; and those in need of cause, whom Chronicle will assign as support for existing initiatives.


Stipulations


Membership with other groups doesn't necessarily preclude one from affiliation with Chronicle, though the reputations of said groups are taken into careful consideration. Any member whose personal actions infringe on Chronicle's values will earn ejection from the organization.

Chronicle is not combat oriented at heart, but due to its focus on holding powers accountable for their deeds, conflict is likely to arise with other groups from time to time. Affiliates are encouraged to practice utmost discretion for the protection of themselves and their colleagues.

As you know by now, Chronicle isn't set up quite like other groups. Seldom will "assignments" be doled out, but any affiliate may make a classified listing for distribution within the network. If you have something you'd like to add, post it here or PM Luned, and it will be added to the list until fulfilled.



Wanted: Coconspirators for the eradication of Imperial control on Radasanth


If you have a stake of any sort in Corone's well being, we need you.

Chronicle seeks to end the oppression over Radasanth by taking down the remaining Empire. The first step is an alliance with the Ixian Knights, which is a cautious step both toward establishing relationships with other organizations and garnering the resources needed to make such a mission possible.

First is an initial meeting to develop the alliance and solidify plans. From there, there will be possibility for special missions for interested parties. If you would like to volunteer to participate, contact us ASAP.

Wanted: Intelligence on the war on Eiskalt


Chronicle would like to brings its affiliates' attention to the recent declaration of war against Eiskalt (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?26996) by Misery Business, who have already been joined by the equally disreputable Order of the Crimson Hands.

While we will not take sides in an official capacity and never expect our affiliates to enter conflict at our bidding, we are willing to support anyone who is interested for the purpose of gathering intelligence. If Eiskalt is unable to maintain independence, it may be up to you to offer them and their allies assistance as a representative of our organization.


GP available for said compensation, position(s) open until the situation changes. Name: Otto Bastum, a.k.a "Bastard"

Cause(s):

Peaceful reformation of the Radasanth City Watch to something resembling pre-Empire democratic policies emphasising peace-keeping, civil service and a concomitant reduction in corruption and abuse of power.
Mastery of all forms of ironsmithing, mundane and otherwise.
The relentless, tireless hunting down of the mass murderer and nefarious criminal, Aurelianus Drak'shal, in order to bring to him a final (and as painful as circumstances may permit) retribution.


Virtue and Vice:

Loyal, principled, disciplined and, by and large, willing to turn the other cheek.
Stoicism borders on detachment, some indulgement issues and not entirely fearless. Also unnecessarily dour at times. Many times. Fine - all the times.


Background check:
CAF conscript during the war, relegated to city guard duty afterwards. Not known to accept bribes more serious than a spot of free food or drink, in return for services equally as mundane. Motivated in his work, sometimes forcibly so by his lieutenant. Some issues complying with authority when their motives appear dubious. Worked alongside Chronicle founder Leopold Winchester (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25294-Dread-Sovereign-%28Closed%29), as well as 'sort-of' affiliate (?) Resolve Curie (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25408-Chasing-Ghosts), culminating in the conclusion of Watch affairs as well as resolving the personal interests of the mentioned parties. Certainly was not ordered to participate in Empire-endorsed sacking and destruction of settlements during the civil war. What's that? 'Irinham'? No, sorry, never heard of it.

Cause: To master the mystical arts of his people and to uncover the ancient mysteries of the world.
Virtue & Vice: Cohen strives to better himself -- spiritually, physically, and magically -- but has grown dependent on otherworldly powers to meet those ends.
Background Check: Cohen frequently consorts with entities of unknowable intent, in particular the Salamander King, Djinn, and the Father of Goblins, Ghob. He owes Nischa, the Undine, two favors. His relationship with the Sylvan Queen, Paralda, is unclear, and within his soul lurks the Qlippoth, a potential for great power, but at the price of his humanity.

Name: Ceidon Lore
Cause: To uncover the ancient mysteries of the world and protect them from those who would use them for their own gain.
Virtue & Vice: Ceidon is generally carefree. He places others above himself. His vice is Lavinian Ale, which often causes him to act out in a sexually inappropriate manner. He is also best friends with Cohen Ephriam, who has caused his own fair share of problems for the two.
Background Check: Ceidon has very few personal demons. Though he generally strives to do good, he is beginning to understand the bigger picture. Unfortunately, he has killed good men that became twisted by the ancient powers he protects.

Since Zook doesn't seem interested in restarting the Order of the Golden Dawn and Chronicles mission statement is similar, I see no reason not to combine the clans--particularly since the only other member (Zook) just got approved to join.

Name: Atzar Kellon

Cause: To learn more of the world, both past and present. He seeks to be a positive influence on the world at large, though this desire isn't entirely altruistic: admittedly he rather enjoys the admiration of others.

Virtue & Vice: He's selfish, opinionated, frequently arrogant, and occasionally intolerable. When forced to choose between personal gain and the good of the mission, he may have more difficulty than some others in choosing the right path. Ambitious, sometimes to the point of being a bit power-hungry. Having said that, he has few true vices and has a genuine interest in helping others... when he can be convinced to see beyond his own personal bubble for a moment.

Background Check: Not much to tell here. He discovered his magical affinity at an early age and has generally spent his time honing his considerable abilities ever since. Currently apprenticed to an aging wizard (read: faceless NPC) who has advised him to learn of the world abroad while keeping his eyes open for opportunities to develop his talents (though Atzar privately wonders if the old man just sent him on an interminable journey to get rid of him for a while).

Name: Rauk “Flint (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?24631)” Skovik

Cause: The oftentimes violent overthrow of Salvic authority figures by means of sedition, guerilla warfare, anarchy, blasphemous acts, and terrorism.

Virtue and Vice: Flint has turned being a human monster into a philosophical choice, and almost every aspect of his life revolves around that choice. Still, recent adventures have revealed a soft, gooshy milk chocolate core deep, deep within his thick, bitter dark chocolate shell. In the right circumstances, he can be downright heroic, especially when it concerns a certain scribe he keeps following into certain death.

Background Check: If you ran a background check on Flint, the whole thing would just be a sheaf of bright red flags. A lot of relatively innocent people are dead because Flint had a rough childhood. He pushes grandpas out of tower windows, and burns down churches, and once he bit a nun’s ear. But he also saves homeless elf children and begrudgingly rescues cats from trees.

Don’t go around advertising that.

Name: Joshua "Breaker" Cronen (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?23307-No-reason-to-cry-out-your-eyes)
Cause: At present Josh is acting Sheriff of Underwood (though I've sort of lost interest in that storyline), has taken an interest in several businesses there, and still finds time to train students and work covertly towards the downfall of the Empire in Radasanth. He has some ambition to seek recognition for his considerable talents, but tends to get caught up helping others and restoring balance. As to what he has to offer... probably the most dangerous close range PC combatant on the site and one of the top covert operatives, with a host of other abilities and connections throughout Corone, Salvar, and Scara Brae. These include access to near unlimited resources if needed for the right reasons, and his student/friend Jake Narmolanya is usually around to help him travel between continents in a single step. Chances are, if you have a thread idea, I have pre-existing NPC's that can add to it.
Virtue & Vice: Cronen owes a great debt to the deity Ama'leh, and is actively pursued by at least two legendary badasses - Geoffrey Rythadine and Kron Sha'keth. Although he maintains a residence in both Underwood and Radasanth, he is rarely seen in any kind of predictable schedule, and tends to conduct his day to day life as it it were a covert mission behind enemy lines in attempt to ensure the safety of those around him. On the rare occasions that he does let loose, he has thrown some of the most well-attended parties in Radasanth. Background Check: Aside from the Rythadine and Sha'keth, Cronen is a known enemy of some parts of the Haidian Underworld, and has generally pissed quite a few people off over the years. Luckily, many of them are dead. The biggest secret he has is probably the fact he's almost a demigod (though I suppose his abilities make that apparent) and his contact with Ama'leh. Oh, and he was originally from Earth but after being reborn through the will of Ama'leh and the eternal tap with the memories of a dozen or so native Althanians buried in his mind, he rarely recalls that he doesn't come from this world.

Also, the profile will change within the month. He will be rendered mute, in all ways until level 3.

Name- Xaxan "Kyle" Prophet

Cause- Kyle is driven by the idea of getting back his true memory, based on a note scrawled in a book in his pack. He knows nothing else but fighting at the moment, and fights to live, breathe, and eat. He can easily see something, and will move towards it, as long as it helps him. So overall, help himself, and a few others. Maybe.

Vice-Kyle, well, he has nothing than what Sei Orluge has (Will) given him. A room, and a job. He knows nothing about himself, nor the land he is in. He is pressed by time to regain his memory, or risk being killed by Shar'Lok, better known as Charles. He is a shell of himself.

Virtue-Kyle is a gifted fighter, capable of downing some pretty decent people, but will not for sake of staying relatively sane. He feels more natural with a dual sword or staff in his hands, holding his own than in an army, training. What he sees in his mind is a shred of knowledge, as if he has trained since he was young.

Backround Check-Beyond the death of a man in Radasanth, Kyle is clear overall. He had nothing in his ledger, and nothing in him, for that matter.

Cause: Sanste is just out to explore the world and read about new technology and ideas. He would like to get better at golem making like his father.

Virtue & Vice: Sanste is rather lazy and doesn't like to work hard. However, he is a good learner when he puts his mind up to it and loves to read.

Background Check: Sanste doesn't have too much of a background since he has just left his family recently. There's no crimes or anything on his record. For his family, his father was a famous golem crafter back in the day and as for his mother, there doesn't appear to be much information.

It has come to my recent attention that a small group of what I assume to be people are making waves in Radasanth. Sadly, they're waves in a pool of bodies, and such devilish murder sprees need to be put to a stop. I personally saw this brand of madness in the religious populous, but it appears to be an incident in a larger web of strange events. Somebody is putting something into motion we cannot allow to destabilise the fragile peace of Corone...

Anyone fancy a little light detective work? It's exhilaratingly good fun!

Name: Fox Owen Xavier aka Fox

Cause: Fox travels the world in search of new herbs, plants, potions, and other things he finds interesting. He would love to gain access to new resources to learn about more advance potions and plants that he does not know.
The kitsune can offer to make potions and teach others how to make them assuming they actually want to learn. He already knows quite a few plants, herbs, and mushrooms so he could share that too.

Virtue & Vice: Fox isn't very sure what all this stuff about balance, good and evil is. Sure he knows the rules but in his society, kitsunes are free to do as they wish for the most part. His primary goal is to learn more about plants and potions. He sells potions to survive and to help others. However, he is just as likely to sell poisons as healing potions. He normally does not get involved just sells them. After all, poisons is generally beneficial for one of the parties.
But overall, Fox just does not really care too much for humans. He is willing to learn and help people but had some bad experiences with people who mistreated him so he doesn't form close relationships very easily.

Background Check: Not much is known about Fox's parents (he doesn't even know who they are or if they are still alive). For his childhood, he grew up learning from an old witch who had traveled the world to learn some rare potions. As he grew older, Fox's adventurous spirit finally took over and he began to travel the lands to learn like his mentor. As mentioned before, he sells all sorts of potions. They might have caused people to get into trouble with murder, rape, suicide, and other not so good things. Then again, Fox never really asks what the purpose they are used for and doesn't go about asking so he doesn't really know how much trouble or help he has caused. All he knows is he helped the customer by providing what he or she asked for.


Btw, Fox might be interested in the Library Staff position if he gets accepted into the group. He would love to read up on any books that he finds interesting although he goes on adventures and travels a lot so might not be around all the time.

Cause: Trakel wishes to assist in the rebuilding of Raiaera as a long-term goal. When opportunities to do so aren't available then he would be more than willing to offer his unique assistance to any just cause.
Virtue & Vice: Trakel is about as morally grey as any other person. The general limits to his morality would be murder or the involvement of children in violence.
Background Check: He can only account for the first 18 of the apparent 103 years of his life. The years that he can remember are devoid of blemishes. He believes the rest would not be a problem as he was likely in a state of long-term unconsciousness.
