Astarelle sauntered through the crowds of the bazaar. Not among them, not riding the tide. Through; like a dagger through an unsuspecting lover's heart. The lines of her face said, "I'll walk over you if I have to." Those who didn't get the hint were rebuffed by her venomous curses. No one would know what she meant by, "Bloody poks," but they got the message.
Only the gruffer, bulkier men were spared her ire. They received, instead, a lusty appraisal, a lick of the lips, and a swished of her hip as she brushed closer. Many of them also gave her space. They could read her unspoken promises clearly. Yet, no takers. They could also see, behind the desire in her eyes, a vacancy.
As they say, the girl was 'not all there'.
