Name: Faren Thumblesteen
Age: 26
Race: Human
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Light Blue
Height: 5' 9
Weight: 140 Lbs
Occupation: Rogue

Personality: A charmer, with a joyful gait, a winning smile and bucketfulls of brazen stories to spread around, Faren is liked by many, hated by a few and trusted by none: his reputation as a womanizer, a thief and a gambler precedes him. He is primarily concerned with himself and his immediate monetary gain, but retains a twisted sense of honor, especially as far as his close associates are concerned: he will sometimes go out of his way to advise and protect younger rascals under his tutelage, but will tend to scheme his way through conflicts instead of putting himself directly in harm's way. Nevertheless he is an apt swordsman and will fight fearlessly when cornered.

Appearance: a small and wiry man, with knotted forearms, slightly scarred hands but a relaxed, albeit alert stance. Sparkling, clear blue eyes and a shining smile stand out in a tanned, weathered face under a bushel of coarse, curly brown hair.
He often wears an old grey hooded cloak, draped over a sturdy corset of boiled leather studded with tarnished nails. Three throwing daggers are strapped across his chest and a wide, dented curved blade hangs at his side, amongst an assortment of small bags and pouches lost in the folds of a pair of wide blue breeches.
He walks in supple, short boots made with the skin of a giant southern bird (that's what he claims, at least) and wears a silver earing in the shape of a small snake.

Skills:
~ Informant (finds out local rumors, personal secrets and/or hidden valuables in an urban area)
~ Short swords (mainly uses defensive strokes or quick lethal jabs to vital body parts)
~ Acrobatics (jumps, dives and rolls, used either in combat or as a complement to burglary, climbing, etc.)
~ Storytelling, Lies and General Mockery (his ability to convince, dupe or provoke others is legendary).
~ Disguise and Acting (basic but working knowledge in using clothing, speech patterns and diverse mannerisms to attract or avoid attention).
~ Dagger Throwing (fast and very accurate. He never uses poisons).
~ Climbing (Using metal claws and silk rope, generally. Also can use any rope to devise lassos and other simple traps).
~ Breaking And Entering (lockpicking, basic knowledge of magical and mechanical traps, how to hide in shadows, dispose of guards / guard dogs, etc).
~ Evaluation (he can tell the monetary value of almost any given coin, jewel, precious stones and other trinkets. A correct evaluation of any work of art, book, ancient scriptures and other parchments would be possible, but a lot trickier).
~ Leatherwork (basic tanning knowledge, see "history" below).

Abilities: Increased AGILITY (faster, nimbler and more flexible than most).
Increased INTUITION (acute sense of danger. Can also spot movement and unusual details in a flash. Senses lies easily).
Increased ACCURACY (anything thrown or caught is done so with extreme skill. Can also apply to quickly hiding small objects, or picking pockets, etc).

History:
Born in a humble home, deep within the back alleys of the Great Port of Radasanth, Faren was the last son of a lower-city tanner named Moragh Thumble. He never knew his mother, who some say ran off with a drunken minstrel when Faren's older brothers were still infants. In any case he'd soon had enough of his brothers' bullying and his father's endless beatings and started spending most of his free time on the streets (which was most days, since his elder brother Raimy had joined the city guard and his other brother Gren was taking over the tanning trade). Soon, Far had made a name for himself as a daring, talented young burglar and he soon attracted the attention of Niklai O'Wren, local chief of the Burglars' Guild. Under the older man's tutelage, the tanner's offspring was about to become one of the city's most famous thieves: a man to be reckoned with, with a dagger or with a smile.

Equipment: Studded Leather, 3 Throwing Daggers, Money Pouch, 12m of Silk Rope with Small Grapple, Climbing Gear, Burglary Tools (Lockpick, Glass-cutting, Trap Probes, etc), Short Sword, Snake Earring (can be magical?), Ostrich Boots (can be special?), Small Backpack, Grey Cloak, Soft Leather Gloves, Lantern, Oil Flask, a Bag of Fine Flour (for baking... and to detect foot tracks), 4 fake rubies (actually colored glass), a golden brooch stolen recently (he keeps it as a gift for one of his favorite barmaids).

Welcome to Althanas! I just need a few clarifications before we accept your character registration:

Increased AGILITY (faster, nimbler and more flexible than most).
Increased INTUITION (acute sense of danger. Can also spot movement and unusual details in a flash. Senses lies easily).
Increased ACCURACY (anything thrown or caught is done so with extreme skill. Can also apply to quickly hiding small objects, or picking pockets, etc).

All of these things need to be clarified in order to fit into our system. For starting level characters, the general limit is twice what a normal human is capable. Please describe them in comparable terms.

I also need you to specify in equipment that his daggers and short sword are of steel quality. If you want to give any of the items magical properties, such as the snake earring, we'll need to clear it first.

Please edit your sheet to reflect these changes, or feel free to ask questions if you'd like to discuss, then post again in this thread to let me know. Thanks!
