Kyla entered the bazaar, searching the tables for the rare merchant who didn't seem like a total creep. She passed a man with a lazy eye who whistled as she passed. It was hard to tell if he was looking at her or the nearly-nude dwarf she walked behind; seeing as one eye followed each, but she decided she'd be better off ignoring him anyway. Then there was the giant of a man who had at least seven dead cats strewn about his make-shift shop, followed by the elf who had just literally sold the shirt of her own back and now had quite the gathering at her clothing shop.

The mystic noted a weapons shop and entered, ignoring the décor as she made her way towards the counter. The man who stood there seemed harmless enough. "I need twelve rounds of ammunition, and I'd like a price on a scaled-down version of a crossbow. I want all the working parts but I need it small enough to fit inside a bag this size." Kyla pulled out he satchel, about the size of a large canteen and laid it upon the counter. 'I need it to be able to shoot these," She pulled from the bag a small dart, much like an arrow but the size of a crayon.

"What kind of ammunition?" the not-so-creepy merchant asked. "Do you want more of these?" he motioned to the darts.

"For your light crossbrow, I'd recommend a base material of at least cyper so the thing doesn't break in half," he continued. "You'll also want at least steel for the prod and the clip. That'll mean less cleaning more killing. For the string, I'd go at least spider silk. The last thing you need is for your bow to snap while chasing down a bear." The merchant did some mental math. "Total as recommended is 475 GP. Oak darts with iron tips are 5 GP each. Is that what you were looking for?"

Kyla paused at the question, she wasn't much of an arms expert and the only bullets she'd purchased so far came with the gun. She reached into the holster at her left thigh and removed the weapon, laying it on the counter. "I need a couple dozen bullets for this gun. It's my son's and I kinda got carried away in the Cell."

(((It's the harmonica pistol, I know jack about guns...)))

"Ah, I've seen one of these before." The merchant pops the cap, revealing an empty chamber. "You're out of powder too." He puts the gun down and looks under the counter. I'm a bit light on iron ball ammo right now, but I can give you them for 5 GP a pop. I sell powder by the pound. One pound is 100 GP. That'll get you about 20 shots with that thing." He frowned. "I'd stick with the crossbow as your primary though. That gun of yours has to be reloaded individually after each shot. Probably won't help you out too much if you miss..."

Unlike a flintlock, which fires by having steel on flint ignite powder stuffed in each shot, a cap gun (or Harmonica gun) stores the powder in the gun. Bullets must still be loaded individually, but it allows you to load in all sorts of weather. This type of gun also has virtually no misfires compared to a flintlock

Kyla added the totals in her head, considering just how much she would need before she handed the gun down to her son. "I think 20 bullets and 20 darts should suffice for now. I'll of course take the powder and weapon as well. You know better than me what it needs to work, so I'll take it just as described." Kyla reached into her sidebag and removed a coin pouch. She weighed the bag in her hand and then sat it upon the counter. "I think that should cover it."

((Just a note. While I plan on actually giving the gun in a thread, as of this post the pistol, ammo, and powder are going to my Akiv Orlouge account.))
