View Full Version : The Legend Hunter Returns!

Andy Rorton
10-09-13, 11:25 AM
Name: Andy Rorton
Height: 6’3’’
Weight: 230 lbs
Build: Muscular
Age: 29
Race: Koden Tueur
Hair Color: Dirty Blonde
Eye Color: Green

Appearance: Andy Rorton has a variety of different clothes made to blend in with his surroundings. His hair is a dirty blonde, and comes down half way to his neck. It is cropped at the front so not to get in his eyes while he fights. On his left hip is a six-shooter pistol that glistens in the sunlight. On his right hip is a five foot bullwhip, tanned from the finest bovine hides on Althanas. This is Rorton’s primary weapon, and one he wields with deadly accuracy. In his pockets, he typically carries more bullets for his gun, but also carries a small red bag, one that had once belonged to Saint Nicholas. Just below his left should is a deep three inch scar that was made courtesy of Seth Dahlios.

Personality: Rorton has a one track mind. He is literally a race of ‘Legend Killer’, destined to kill all legends, new and old. As such, he rebukes anybody keeping him from his missions. He is abrasive, rude, and a slight chauvinist.

History: Andy Rorton was born a Koden Tueur, a Legend Killer. His tribe lived on the outskirts of Dheathain for centuries, choosing to deny their birthright rather than embrace it. When Rorton learned of his clans special gift (That is to say, the defeat of a legend will take a notable character trait from said legend), he believed him to become destined to find all the Legends, and defeat them all. What the Koden Tueur know that most of Althanas does not, however, is that once Legends of Earth (Fictional and non-fictional) and other planets/dimensions ‘die’, or are in their ‘off season’, they instead are transported to Althanas to live out their days in a sort of retirement. Some of them take on new identities, some of them go into hiding, but all of them exist somewhere on Althanian soil.

Once Rorton had become old enough to leave hi tribe, he challenged the clan leader for the opportunity to leave. Armed with his clans traditional weapon, the whip, Rorton fought the Chief with unbridled passion. However, the Chief was strong, and fast, possessing both the power of Luke Cage and the speed of Jesse Jackson. It wasn’t until the elder was to deliver his final blow that Rorton had revealed his ace-in-the-hole. The boy pulled out his six-shooter, and unloaded each bullet into the veteran fighters chest. Firearms were strictly forbidden among the Koden Tueur, so Rorton was banished from the tribe (having Luke Cages strength also gave the elder his bulletproof durability, and thus he survived). Rorton was more than happy; he did not have to return to his people, and he was able to freely hunt all of the Legends Althanas had to offer. To him, it was a win-win scenario.

He started his journey with the death of Alan Quartermain, granting him ridiculous precision. He then traveled among Althanas defeating several more Legends, including Jessie James (gaining his gunmanship abilities), Santa Claus ( Taking his bag as a trophy), Seth Dahlios (Learning the Sin Harvest as a result), and Tyler Durden (Giving him great hand-to-hand fighting skills). Now, he has returned from several years of meditation, more focused than ever to deliver pain onto the men and women who had forged names for themselves. They will all fall to the Legend Killer.

Abilities:

The ARO – The ARO is Andy’s trademark move, the move he hits all of his victims with in order to gain their ability. It is a ritual that had become forbidden among the Koden Tueur. Rorton uses his whip to hang his opponent, unloading his gun while they struggle to release themselves from his grip. He finishes the technique by grabbed the neck of his foe, and slamming them into the ground with an impact hard enough to shatter a normal man’s bones. This technique requires a hanging spot for the whip, as well as OOC permission from Rorton’s opponent to use. Using this technique allows Rorton to permenantly copy one technique from the person in question. It should be noted that if a person tells Rorton that they surrender to him, the ability copying effect of the ARO takes place without any of the damage.

Seth Harvest: This ability must charge up over a post while the Hex Mage stands still and in one spot. Upon saying the words, “Penance for your sins?” a ball of purple energy forms in the Hex Mages Hands. This ball may be held for two posts. If held to long or it makes contact with its target, this energy disperses over its target. The ability then looks back at the targets history over a month (goes farther back when upgraded) and for every sin committed it does two things;

1) Forgives the sins, making them untargetable by Sin Harvest again.
2) Deals damage for each sin committed physically in the form of cuts. The greater the sin is, the deeper the cut inflicted. This ability CAN kill. (NOTE: If this ability hits Andy, it will deal 1.5 times the damage it would have normally inflicted.)
The following is a list of suins, and their effects.

Charge Time: From the end of his last post, to the beginning of his next, uninterrupted.
Duration: Instant upon contact.
Use: Once per thread or in-game day, whichever is shorter.
Trace time: 1 year.
Types of sins and their damage:

Murder -- 4" cut 2" deep at site of killing blow.
Adultery -- 1" Diameter spot of Necrosis on genitalia.
Theft -- 2" Patch of 3rd degree Burn on hands
Unprovoked Assault -- Bruise or Cut equivalent to final blow of engagement.
Fatal Deception -- Partial blindness or muteness per incident.
Rape -- Complete Necrosis of genitalia spreading to the body by 3" diameter per repeat event.
Dismemberment -- 1" deep cut along site of lost limbs

Usable once a thread. Stolen from Seth Dahlios (Dissinger)

Santas Bag: Rorton has a small red bag that, once per thread, he can use to pull out an object that will either benefit him or his opponent, depending on which of the two of them has been a better ‘Good boy/girl’. He will also pull out a piece of coal for the ‘Bad boy/girl’. Taken as a trophy when Rorton defeated Santa.

Taunt Strength: After killing The Undertaker, Andy gained the ability to increase his strength by 1.5 times that of a normal human when he performs some sort of showboat taunt. Locked until later levels.

Skills:
Quartermain’s Aim: Rorton is able to hit a target from 200 feet out without much of a problem. This also applies to his whip, wherein he can nail individual parts of a person’s body should the need arise.

James’ Gunmanship: Rorton is an absolute genius with a gun, thanks to his killing of the cowboy Jessie James. Hee is able to perform all sorts of tricks with a gun, as well as improvement on his great marksmanship

((While they’re listed as 2 different things, Quartermains Aim and Jame’s Gunmanship combined gives Rorton six times the accuracy of a normal man))

Inventory:

'The Game' Six Shooter – Standard western six shooter revolver, contains six bullets in it.

'Flair' Whip – Bullwhip made from strong cowhide, its physical equivalent being Kevlar. Cannot be sold.

Santa’s Bag – A small red pouch able to pull things out.

Armor – Rorton prefers to wear to armor, finding such things restricting towards his goal. Besides, he’ll eventually find –some- legend with rock hard skin.

((This is a character revival. Rorton was level 2 when I lost him to the blackout. If I could have that experience back, that’d be awesome. Dissinger, possibly Witchblade, grim, and some other old old oldbies can vouch for me on this character))

If you wouldn't mind, Sei, I know I saw Rorton on the Internet Archive. Could you look him up please and confirm the actual amount? I don't really trust an EXP voucher since it's been 7 years since the last crash. Still, if you can prove the actual EXP amount you had, I'll happily add it for you.

Sort by date so you get the 2003 stuff first.

Thanks.

Dirks. I have spent 2 hours searching for a thread with Rorton in it since 2003. All I'm finding is broken links, and (mostly) bazaar threads. Rorton had a total of 8 threads, which earned him a little over 5000 experience. I have more than one person who could vouch for this. I have characters from previous levels as early as two years ago. I am also 100% sure you remember Andy Rorton (As well as Damon's wrestling counter part, Ron Cena). I would really appreciate it if you either (1) help me find one of these threads, or I don't know. But this is getting ridiculous.

I'll help, but it'll have to be from home and not work.

Battle with Diss, which puts me at 2680 (http://web.archive.org/web/20050912153710/http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6616)

This seems fine.

Accuracy is a skill rather than an ability, given that the opponent always chooses whether their character is struck or not.

Dissinger has a listing of the sins and their affects for "Sin Harvest" (as does Lye). Could you edit them in here?

Finally, since we haven't grandfathered Kevlar yet (or assigned a value, for that matter), your whip cannot be sold without permission from me.

And no problem for finding your profile ;)

Approved.

Please note: the gun is being allowed as a pre-crash grandfathered weapon.
