Oath of the Blade. (1) (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25388-Oath-of-the-Blade-%28-1-%29)

~Name: Sir Elthas Belthasar

~Title: Bounty Hunter

~Age: Roughly 200

~Race: Elthas is a standard Elf from Concordia Forest in Corone.

~Appearance Information~

*Hair Color: Green

*Eye Color: Blue

*Height: 6'3" (Elthas is tall and lithe)

*Weight: 200lbs

~Occupation: Professional Syndicate Bounty Hunter (Of decent Rank and standing) (New!!!) Elthas is now a FORMER member of The Syndicate. He is a ranking officer of The Trading Company.

~Job Class: Adventurer and Crafter

~Psychological Profile: (~Level 0~) Elthas is a very proud of Elf. He has an exceedingly precise personality almost to the point of irritation. Elthas pays attention to detail, minor details that many would not spot. This attention to detail is borderline obsessive. An eccentric man, Elthas is a fellow of many unique tastes. Elthas is known to savor the most minute aspects of many of life's vices. Everything from fine women to fine liquor, Elthas will decipher the flavour to appreciate the craftsmanship.

Elthas has the mind of an artist. With this detailed world-view, Elthas obsessively observes everything around him. Very rarely do details escape his sharp mind and his sharper eyes. Elthas will point out things that he finds out of place from tacky clothing to that strange piece of evidence overlooked by locale law enforcement. This personality quirk has made Elthas appear rude and inconsiderate to his peers. Elthas does not care.

He specializes in taking "dirty jobs." Instead of assisting the current Empirical regime that lurks in Corone, Elthas oft works for an organization known as The Syndicate. Elthas considers himself a "professional cleaner" and specializes in cleaning up the messes made by others. Elthas lives a life that is a gray one, neither black nor white. Elthas doesn't consider anything that he does to be purely evil, but rather necessary in the grand scheme of things.

Elthas has the obsessive qualities of an artist. In his spare time he paints and draws. Elthas has acquired some skill as an artist. His attention to detail has allowed him to master art quickly. In his community he has earned a positive reputation as a painter of some skill. Elthas uses all of his talents to chase targets that would be elusive or tricky to most. Elthas lives for the thrill of the chase, and the heart of the hunt.

Level 1 (Changes/Psychological Profile)-After a number of tragic experiences in his recent life, Elthas has become more set in his ways. As a professional Bounty Hunter, Elthas has developed his own code of conduct that he adheres to at all times. Though a villain, Elthas is not cold blooded and merciless. His profession dictates he must capture targets alive to receive a full compensation for a hunt, and that has placed a firm, but dangerous belief in Elthas's heart. Elthas will not kill. Ever. Even if his life depends on the matter, he has developed an almost psychological obsession with the idea of not killing other people. It doesn't matter the race. He simply does not kill. He'd rather just knock someone out.

Elthas had developed a profound connection with Hylda Terrentius (NPC) and has taken her has his mate. Elthas would die to protect her and considers her the most valuable person in his life. He often paints portraits of her in his spare time.

Level 3 (Changes/Psychological Profile)-All was seemingly lost. After joining The Trading Company as a full time member, Elthas has severed all ties with The Syndicate. Cutting him off, Elthas was now an exiled member. Attempting to salvage his relationship with Hylda Terrentius, Hylda back stabbed Elthas as well. Elthas admitted defeat and simply packed things up with The Syndicate. He was stripped of his former title and privileges as a Syndicate officer. Now, Elthas has developed a cold edge about himself. He keeps to himself and has started to take on many Trading Company duties. He has earned the title of a Quest Monitor, and helps hire on new recruits to The Trading Company. Further, Elthas has learned some new crafts besides those of an artist. Elthas retains his no-killing policy.

~Vice: Lust

~Virtue: Justice

~Alignment: (~G~) Good.

~Appearance: (~Level 0~) Elthas is an Elf of average height. Traditionally, Elven folk are tall and lithe, and Elthas is no exception. However, Elthas is built slightly stockier than the typical Elf. Elthas' physique is that of a balance athlete. He has a lanky physique with long limbs. Elthas has light brown skin, glowing blue eyes, and no hair. He is completely bald. On his chin he has a slightly unkempt black goatee. Elthas's eyes are built narrow and slender. His eyebrows are very wild, and he has tribal tattoos upon his body that are painted purple. Elthas has the long, slender fingers of an artist. His nose is very slender, and his face structure is quite angular.

(~Level 1~) Elthas has grown out his hair once again. He wears his hair long, and it end at about his mid back. Elthas has started to wear fancy suits almost exclusively. He can often be seen wearing a top hat, or other fancy hats. Sometimes a fedora, or a feathered hat. Elthas wears gloves often. He favors wearing a simple cloak, brown or green color when he is traveling on Syndicate jobs. They have no markings. He carries all of his equipment with him at all times. His hair is green and his eyes are blue. He stands at an impressive height for an Elf, who are normally short. Though he is quite heavy, he does not appear to be a stocky or muscular type. He is very slender and lithe, despite his weight. His body type consists of broad swimmer's shoulders and lanky, slender limbs. He is clean shaven except for a small goatee, also green colored.

(~Level 3~) Elthas now wears clothing with The Trading Company patch logo on it. The most prominent article being a basic cloak with the symbol patched on.

~History:

(~Level 0~) (~Level 0~) Like most of Althanas' Elven-folk, the folk of Ruild (Concordia Forest) were a sturdy, tenacious lot. Elthas Belthasar grew up during the roaring time period in Corone post-Empirical take over. Street gangs, feuds between rival organizations, and anti-government propaganda were the norm. The soldiers of the empire were given free reign to exterminate or other wise do away of the viceroy's enemies. The angst of an entire generation of people were quietly subdued. During this turbulent time period, the alliances of old were destroyed by the viceroys. Corone became a paranoid, isolated kingdom at war with it's own heart and soul.

Elthas Belthasar saw the collapse of Radasanth with his own eyes. No more Heroes came out of that once great capital city. The age of villains had fallen upon Corone.

Elthas Belthasar was a typical Elven youth. His people lived within an Elven city that lurked deep in Ruild. Elthas's tribe was neatly divided into several large clans that consisted of High Elves and Hybrids. In Elven society, rank and blood-line meant everything. Elthas was fortunate enough to be bourne of pure-blood. Both of his parents were Elves, one of them of significant standing within Elven society. Elthas was raised in a particularly strict household and learned the customs of his people at an early age. Many of his customs were concepts of honour and justice. Concepts that seemed lost to the folk of Ruild. Radasanth had become a rotten piece of ambrosia, an empty shell of it's former self.

The Corruption of Radasanth began to reflect a growing corruption occurring within the Elven communities. Diplomats reaching out to Radasanth were turned away and sent back to Ruild. The old Alliances between Elf and Men that existed since the Demon Wars of antiquity were destroyed. The society of Elves became fearful and world-weary of the silver-tongues of men. When the Corone Rangers reached out for assistance from the Elves of Ruild, they were rejected. Human politics were not the politics of Elves.

Just as Radasanth had become increasingly isolationist as it prepared for war against all enemies, the kingdom of the Elves became equally isolationist.

Elthas, and many of the youth of the clans did not share the beliefs of their elders. Elthas grew up wanting to respect the allegiances of old. Elthas joined the Elven military academy at an early aged and trained with the finest Elven warriors that the generation had produced. Elthas excelled in his intellectual studies, as well as his combat technique. He quickly developed a love for art and poetry. Elthas ventured to Underwood as soon as he earned the title of Squire and could travel out on his own.

It was during his stay in Underwood that Elthas really got to see how bad things had gotten in Corone. One night in question, Elthas was out on a stroll when a gang of ruffians had stormed a Human gentlemen of elderly appearance. A fight quickly erupted. Elthas was accompanied by a squad of fellow military cadets when the fight occurred. Pleading with his fellows to assist the gentleman, Elthas's request was denied. Deciding to act on his own, Elthas turned a blind eye to rank and moved to assist the elderly man on his own. By the time Elthas had arrived, the old man was already dying.

Elthas managed to scare off the unprepared ruffians, and they fled but not until after they had gotten what they wanted. Not realizing what he had stumbled upon, Elthas assisted the old man. The old man revealed to Elthas that he was a powerful member of an organization in Corone called The Syndicate. Elthas had oft heard of the organization. With his dying breath, the old man decreed to Elthas that he take his body to a Syndicate safe house that he was heading to. Elthas complied. And that set off a series of events that would forever shape the destiny of the young cadet.

(~Level 1~) ~The Citadel: Elthas has started his Citadel Leagues career. His first bout was against the lethal entity known as Talen Shadowalker. Through the battle, Elthas never found out the name of the boy killer. However, several people (Though it was a Citadel simulacram) were killed in the process of the battle by Talen. Elthas himself, was ultimately "killed" by Talen, but Elthas hurt the shadow significantly in the process. Elthas has since continued his Citadel career, and has told the monks that he doesn't want to fight more skilled warriors or magi again...

~The Syndicate: It all began when Elthas Belthasar saved the man known as Seth Terrentius. Later that night, Elthas discovered that Seth was a ranking officer a guild calling itself The Syndicate. Elthas and Seth soon became inseparable allies. During his adventures, Elthas was put on a hunt to go after an enemy of The Syndicate. That enemy turned out to be the former husband of Hylda Terrentius, the daughter of Theo Terrentius and heir to a vast fortune. Elthas and Hylda soon develop an intense relationship. Elthas becomes Hylda's mate and decides to stay by her side. Proving his worth, Elthas captures Hylda's former husband alive. He returned with the captured man obeying full Syndicate procedure. From then on it was a long series of events that lead him to the battle against The Vennard Faction. During that adventure, Elthas was required to hunt down a Paladin who was formerly part of Scara Brae's army. The battle was fierce, and Elthas was severely wounded during the battle. However, because of the assistance of a mystery woman simply calling herself Herratya, Elthas was able to turn in a superior target against nearly overwhelming odds.

During the process, Elthas was badly hurt. He returned to The Terrentius Estate, his place of residence in Corone, and returned with Herratya in tow. During the ensuing events, Herratya assaulted Hylda Terrentius with lethal intent. Elthas intervened and the rest was history. The Syndicate law dictates revenge was due on Herratya, but Elthas has attempted to sway both Theo and Seth from going after a severely dangerous and unstable person. After all, Elthas knew that Herratya nearly killed him once before, he knew she would not hesitate the second time. Nobody was safe. Elthas was a man on a mission at that point...

(~New!!! Level 3~)

Terrentius Estate (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25323-The-Terrentius-Estate)

Red Six (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?25825-Red-Six-Initiation-Hysteria-vs-Elthas_Belthasar)

Elthas has been exiled from The Syndicate.

After joining The Trading Company, Elthas has given up everything to form his new life. Having lost his wife, Hylda Terrentius, to divorce, Elthas is a broken man. He works to recover himself and regain what was lost. During the process, he has joined the two groups: The Red Six, and The Trading Company. Elthas is haunted by the past that he left behind and attempted to run from. He attempts to manage his new life with confidence and great skill. Elthas has become a ranking officer of The Trading Company and works to achieve a greater glory for the group. Elthas has always prided himself on being a hard worker, and the recent changes in his life dictate that he continue to achieve what he had always believed in. The old alliances were what mattered, Elves were never known for being fair weather friends. Elthas would honor the old alliances and herald in a new generation of alliances for the future of all Althanians. In that sense, Elthas was slowly becoming what he was meant to be: A Hero.

Elthas was on the path to redemption.

~Abilities Tree (Note: I am making several key changes to Elthas in this update.)

~(Finisher) Ritual of Binding: (Note: I am editing this ability considerably since I pretty much don't want Elthas using magic and sorcery.) From a container tube worn on his arm, Elthas may remove a single rope material made out of a very hard silk. The silk is previously enchanted by Syndicate operatives to "bind the target". Once bound, the target is unable to use any magic or special abilities as they are in the custody of Elthas. The effect last only as long as a target is bound by the rope. The rope is usually tied around the wrists of a target, and extended out like a leash so that Elthas may, in essence, pull the target. Note: the bound effect only works on defeated targets. In this fashion, Elthas can only capture one target at a time. Roping someone takes a lot of effort and skill. The rope is not enchanted by Elthas himself, but by other Syndicate agents. In this fashion, Elthas usually carries 4-5 such ropes on his person at all times.

(Level 3: New!!!) Elthas has gotten quite skilled with the use of his enchanted binding ropes. Through his training, he has learned to unlock a method of using the ropes for combat. He can effectively and summon them from their phials without getting as tired as before. Also, he can now effectively BIND TWO TARGETS that are defeated and ready for capture. The process still takes considerable amount of concentration and preparation. He can STILL only use one rope at a time despite the skill increase. Once captured, a target cannot easily escape the ropes' binding.

(Note: The ropes were acquired during my level 1 Update!!!)

Elven Reflexes: Elthas has the blood of a pure Elf. One of the talents bestowed upon him due to his genetics is the supernatural grace, agility, and speed of his people. Elthas has Above Average Speed and Reflexes. He has 1.5x's the Reflex and Speed of the average Althanian Human. Elthas can run, on land, at about 30M.P.H.'s (No changes for level 3)

~Skill Tree

~Fighting Style: Marksman. Elthas is now Skilled with the crossbow, but has not learned any other effects of this combat style. (Note: I am eliminating this skill ALL TOGETHER.)

~Fighting Style: (Level 1) Knife Expert. Elthas is now Skilled with dual wielding knives in combat, and furthermore, is Skilled in the use of throwing his knives.

(Level 3) Knife Expert. Elthas is now HIGHLY SKILLED with the use and maintenance of combat daggers. Further, he can now effectively string together attacks in the form of slashes and swipes. In this fashion, he can string together effectively 2-3 basic slash attacks. If an entire combo connects, it can form up to MODERATE damage. Combos require timing to execute in this fashion.

New-Skilled Stance. Elthas can effectively execute a skilled Knife user's stance. This stance, called Piercing Talons, is a basic addition to Elthas's combat style. He can basically raise his own natural stamina and ability to take incoming attacks with this stance. Further, he can move with an increase skill of grace and natural agility. With this stance activated, (Stackable ONE TIME PER USE) Elthas receives some bonuses. Endurance is increased by 1.5x's. Agility is increased by 2.0x's. This effect augments Elthas's natural agility. The increase lasts for approximately one IC minute. Once the stance has been used, Elthas has to wait a cool down period of two minutes IC to use again.

*(Aesthetic Skill)Artist/Poet/Linguistics: Due to Elthas's high intellect, Elthas had acquired a taste for the finer things in life. Elthas is a Professional Artist who is an Expert with both painting and sculpted forms. Elthas uses arts in the tradition of Coronian Elves. Elthas is very intelligent, and quickly learns things. He has obtained a silver-tongue and has learned the arts of poetry and linguistics. Of these, Elthas is an Expert in the tongues of Men, Elves, Corone Dwarves, and many other languages. (No Changes from level 0.)

(Level 3 New!!!) Gathering & Crafting. Elthas can gather basic materials from the wild. He can easily mine ore, hunt for leather, and cut wood for lumber as needed. Further he has rudimentary knowledge necessary to work the materials he gathers. He can use these materials in BASIC Blacksmithing, Cooking, and Alchemy skills and any other crafting skill necessary to make ends meet. Elthas is a hard worker. Further, Elthas is now a MASTER Artist. With some effort, he can Sculpt and paint things with the best of them. Some of Elthas's paintings and sculptures are famous in Art Galleries all over Radasanth.

~Mute Stone: (Note: I am eliminating this ability/item all together as well the Elthas's crossbows and exchanging it for possibly one more major update.)

~Inventory:

1-Mother's Locket. (I got this item in the Terrentius Estate)

2-Steel Longsword.

3-Gauntlets of Iron and Leather make.

4-I am eliminating Elthas's Masterwork Crossbow and I am also eliminating The Mute Stone.

Hey man, I really appreciate all the work you put into your profiles, but could you please clearly separate the skills and abilities into two distinct categories? It will help a lot getting through this update and many more to come :)

Requested edits made my good man. Sorry about that I thought putting them together would make more sense, but I'll keep them in their own sections from now on ^_^. Much appreciated my good man.

I appreciate th co-operation, just a couple more things.

Please move the following quote text to skills -

~Fighting Style: Marksman. Elthas is now Skilled with the crossbow, but has not learned any other effects of this combat style. (Note: I am eliminating this skill ALL TOGETHER.)

~Fighting Style: (Level 1) Knife Expert. Elthas is now Skilled with dual wielding knives in combat, and furthermore, is Skilled in the use of throwing his knives.

Those are all fine, they just belong in the skills section.

For skilled stance please change it so it shows the total his speed/agility increases to (rather than saying it gets multiplied, just say the total it increases to). Also please change references to things that happen per initiative turn into real measurements of time. It should be fine if you just swap "turns" for "minutes," I think.

And if you could list the binding ropes in your inventory with a link to where they were received, that'd be great.

Numbers dude, I added in all the edits you requested that I could. I got the Enchanted binding ropes thing during my level 1 update. That was the one major update that I did during that one, and I already linked the profile. I am having trouble understanding what you mean about the multipliers. I'm used to the multiplier system (I.e. x's whatever increases.) but I have no idea how what you're suggesting works. Please explain a little further what you need and I will amend the edits as soon as possible bro. Thanks for being such a big help buddy.

Yo, I'm taking over in Breaker's absence.

To check, the Binding skill only works after you've defeated a character, so in a battle it is nearly useless? Would you ever pull one out and try and wrap someone with it?

Am I also right in saying that the set up for its use would be agreed upon by the other RPer?

You are correct in both assumptions bro. The rope is PURELY on A) Defeated NPC's and B) Defeated player with their permission. Yeah, I basically can't just rope someone for the heck of it at this point :D .

Ok, all good to rumble.

Just a note with the cloth; because you can't use it in a battle situation it greatly reduces the strength of the ability. The moment it can be used against someone like that it will hugely increase its strength. Just an FYI for future updates.
