Stormborn God

It had all started with that goddamned list. He was thrown into some uncharted planet, given normal clothes. And then left there. Wonderful. His body, shirtless at the moment he walked into town, glowed blue, as his tattoos sparked into life. With an annoyed sigh, he waved a hand, and a trio of tiny storms filled his hand. Dancing their wind, rain, and showing their fury. He walked up the street till he came to the house, knocked, and pulled on his shirt, even though the runes still shone through.

There was no answer, so he walked off to the road again, and just sorta, walked down it, not saying or doing anything. Except walking...

I need 2-3 more people for this thread. Just reply below. An PM me.

Sanste
10-22-13, 04:32 PM
It was a fairly nice day, Sanste was walking with his guardian Arix like usual looking for something interesting. Passing by a few shops, Sanste read the signs to see if they might interest him. However, a wind picked picked up and threw a bit of dirt into Sanste's eyes. Wiping out the dirt, Sanste saw a strange shirtless man who had somehow summoned a small windstorm into his hand. For some reason that man knocked on some random house then started walking down the road again.

Sanste decided that since he had nothing better to do, following this man would be just as interesting as anything else. "Follow me, Arix," Sanste called as he ran after the man who had just put on a shirt.

Zarkin
10-22-13, 05:09 PM
Zarkin, dressed in his normal every day clothes, was taking an stroll through town to see if there may be a small 'job' for him to carry out. Passing stores and asking everyone who seemed troubled at the time Zarkin thought he'd ask. After being denied by many of the store owners Zarkin was brushed by a man who seemed to be in a rush towards another man with what looked a small storm in his hand.

"How odd" Zarkin said to himself. "Hey buddy!" Zarkin yelled to the man and ran up close to him, touching his shoulder to grab his attention Zarkin says to the man "Excuse me but what is your name? Also I see your going towards this rather strange man here, mind if I tag along?"

Hopefully thinking this man would be polite and Zarkin wouldn't have to beat him to the ground, he strolled close to the mans' side. Awaiting answers from the man, Zarkin put his hands into his denim pants pockets and listened. Looking closely at the guardian Zarkin got a sense of nervousness in his head.

It seemed there was a slight thump, matching his steps, a small, barely noticeable thing. But the air danced around him, disturbed just slightly, he turned on his heel around, and saw a large man, and and elf, which seemed to not move, blink or anything of the such. There was also a normal person in traveling clothes, with that suspicious look to him that carried along with all denizens of the shadows

"Who are you? He demanded, lightning forming in his hands, and his eyes brightening to a blinding shade of blue. He leansed forward, his weight on his front foot.

The men stepped back, but did not cower. He liked that, there are few men who are willing to stand up to a god. He lowered his hands and his eyes dimmed to a less. Violent shade. He stood up straight, and bowed.

"Archon Magnus. Storm God. At your service."

Bunnies have been approved.

Supprised at the sudden touch from the passing stranger, Sanste jerked away to study this new person. The stranger didn't give him much time and asked, "Excuse me but what is your name? Also I see your going towards this rather strange man here, mind if I tag along?"

Well, he didn't seem like a bad guy although he was a bit muscular so Sanste mentally ordered Arix the golem to stop reaching for his axe and calm down. Looking up at the stranger who towered over him, Sanste replied, "I'm Sanste the Adventurer and this is my guardian Arix. Arix might look like an elf but he is really a golem so talking with him won't get you much of anywhere. As for that strange man I'm following, he summoned a neat looking windstorm so I thought I would follow him to see if anything else interesting happens."

Sanste couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by this new muscular stranger who was so close so he mentally ordered Arix to get between him and this new person. Sanste was about to ask this new stranger his name when the even larger stranger he was following halted.

"Who are you?" he demanded.

Sanste stepped back quickly. If the stranger next to him was big, this guy was a giant who easily towered head and shoulders over Sanste. Seeing the lightning coming from his hands, Sanste was about to order Arix to defend him when the giant relaxed and introduced himself.

Still nervous from the sudden lightning appearance and intimidating aura, Sanste stammered out the introduction he had given to the other stranger.

"I am Zarkin. My profession will be unknown to you, if you don't mind. But I see your interest matches with mine" "

Archon Magnus, saying his name and occupation Zarkin stepped back a little more

"Archon Magnus. I am Zarkin. I do not know the lad beside me, I just thought we'd get a closer look at what you're doing with your hand there" Zarkin said pointing to the small storm in his hand. "Storm god eh'. What would you be doing in Corone?"

Slightly stunned by the man being a storm god Zarkin studied him, but what would a storm god be doing here was the only message playing in Zarkin's head. For not being a person to talk a lot this man made Zarkin want to speak.

Archon cleared his throat, and snapped. A small bolt of lightning lit a torch on the nearby wall, illuminating a doorway, with a massive knocker, shaped as a lightning bolt. He raised it up, but did not pound it. He pressed a hand to the back, and it lit up, the door sliding to the side, revealing another door, this one opening to a musty corridor, which bloomed out dust as he blasted air into it.

"Home sweet home" he mumbled, smiling as the door settled into place.

He turned around and looked at the trio, which looked a bit out of place compared to the rest of the island. One seemed to be clad in shadowy garb. He smiled at them motioning for them to come in and started searching around for a box of matches or a lighter. He found one and lit an oil lantern walking in and sitting at the scarred table. Scratched up deeply. He beckoned, and let them sit down.

"Welcome to my old house. Been here for" he counted a few numbers on his fingers. "Two hundred years?"

Sanste

Jumping slightly at the lightning bolt, Sanste felt relief when he saw it was only to light up a touch. He saw Archon open up a door and inviting him in.

Sanste wasn't quite sure what to do. On one hand this new development seemed interesting. On the other hand, these were complete strangers and much bigger than him. Arix might not even be able to handle both of them if they ganged up on him. Finally, Sanste decided just to follow. Scooping up some dirt, he entered the house with Arix.

Sitting down with the other men, Sanste started slowly molding the dirt into a small golem while he looked around. His nerves finally calming down, he asked Archon, "Do you mind if I take a took at those old books in the corner? They look interesting." Sanste figured he could put some distance between him and the men in case they were up to something and learning something new wouldn't be bad either.

Zarkin

Zarkin walked in, inspected the chair at the table. Seems sturdy enough Zarkin though in his mind. Taking a seat he looked at Archon for a small moment then over to Sanste.

"Interested in books? Ha. Funny how someone can be consumed in a book and completely throw out the outside world" Zarkin said with a chuckle. Turning his attention back to Archon Zarkin asked "So Archon, you never answered me. What brings a storm god to Corone?"

Awaiting his answer Zarkin turned around to see Sanste, nose buried in a book reading it's contents. This was a place Zarkin would have usually avoided, but the storm god intruiged him. He wanted to learn more about this man, Zarkin still had no idea if he was friend or foe yet. Let alone what Sanste was, other than some guy he met up with on the street chasing down a man, turning out to be a god. Zarkin chuckled in his thinking, Chasing a god. What are the possibilites

"Well. Lets see, since, about, three hundred years ago, we had been here, me, a snake god, and a few others. It seemed to be nice for a while. But then, it seemed that there were problems, in which of the fact of a few people organized a massive strike, an apocolypse, of sorts. We stopped it, and i took an interest in the place. And Sanste, you are welcome to my meager collection. "

He raised an eyebrow at the books and sighed.

"More to the point. Im not exactly a god."

Sanste
10-22-13, 08:05 PM
Sanste continued reading the dusty old book. It had a bunch of stuff about gods and goddesses and for some reason most of the pictures were on the goddesses. He had finished the small dirt golem which was now sitting on his shoulder.

"Master Sanste, Archon seems like he might be talking about something important," Arix alerted Sanste across their mental bound. Glancing up, Sanste caught something about 300 years, a snake, and an apocalypse. Archon probably said something else but Sanste had found another beautiful goddess picture to look at instead.

"An apocalypse, sounds interesting. And you said you are not exactly a god? How so?" Zarkin asked slightly confused. He was sure the man had labeled himself as a 'Storm god' but Zarkin was hooked into the suspense being displayed at the moment. This was easily shown in Zarkin's facial expressions. His eyes illuminated waiting for what the man could possibly say next.

Shifting his weight so his torso leaned in closer towards the man, placing his elbows on his knees Zarkin listened to the Storm god.

"It seems that i created a few things i wasn't supposed to, according to some. Unwritten laws of the people who, manage me. They sent me off to here, where i am. To, per say, test myself."

Looking at his face, which was twisted in thought, he smiled a second, before taking a book off the shelf by a wall and flipped through it before coming to a page in the middle, which had the words, door, key, and storm written on them, along with a few words. He skimmed it quickly, taking in words as one might take in food.

"Here we go. All of you, come along, i have something to show both of you. "

He walked hurriedly, with long strides to an marked area, one of five, on a wall, which seemed to come from the stone itself, and seemingly was a solid wall. No openings, just lines of bright blue stone. He murmured a second, and two small doors appeared on the wall. Both looked to be made of solid oak, with birch undertones, one was reinforced with small metal bands, and the other was ornately decorated.

"Now, lets just say here, that this house exists on many levels, some in the nether, some floating, some underground. Most parts are made by me, and my mind. Sanste, to the ornate door, Zarkin, follow me. I will maintain these doors as long as we are in here, so. Come!"

Ornate-A library, massive, with three floors full of musty, untouched tomes, lit by many a mellow fire in the grates littering the room. There was also a large amount of comfy leather chairs and reading tables scattered throughout the room, which was well made, round, with light, sanded wood paneled walls, and lush carpet floors. The bookcases were at least ten feet tall, with beautiful signs carved into them. On a table, in the center of the room, sat a note and a bottle of aged, Coronian wine, and a glass next to it. The note read "To find a book, one mustn't seek, just think, or shout for the book and it will come. Also. The wine is yours too. "

Banded Door-A large, decagonal room, with niches lining it, and a huge bonfire in the center, where, on a table next to it, laid all kinds on weapons. Daggers, swords, maces, poisons. Archon, walked up to a platform, about 8 feet above the ground, and the stairs sank into the wall after he stepped on them. A focus, one of massive proportions sat in the wall above him. Three others were in similar places around the room, and one was in the ceiling. He smiled, and looking down to Zarkin, who had walked in, he shouted "WELCOME TO THE TRAINING ROOM" before raising his hand to the focus, which erupted in electricity. "This place runs on my power alone, so, it's easy to work with it. Normally it's stationary targets. But with what i think you do. Lets go!" With that, the other four foci lit up, and the beams converged on a dummy holding a sword, clad in leather armor, which morphed into a human in black leather armor, his hair tied back, and his face concealed.

"Shall we begin?" Archon asked as he snapped, and the dummy seemingly woke up.

Sanste

Sanste just finished the book when Archon took a book off a nearby shelf. "Here we go. All of you, come along, i have something to show both of you, " Archon said while walking to a wall.

Sanste carefully put his finished book back on the lowest shelf then jumped to his feet. Seeing Archon open a door, Sanste followed Archon while getting Arix to fill him in on the conversion he missed earlier. Peeking through the Ornate door, Sanste saw a true hidden treasure. The room was nice with chairs, tables, and a fire but to Sanste these were just trash compared to the huge collection of books. A few were classics that Sanste had read many times in his childhood. But most of them were undiscovered treasures just waiting for someone to dust them off and discover it. Seeing Archon and Zarkin heading for the banded door, Sanste sighed. People just didn't understand the wealth of information and interesting things in this marvelous collection of books.

Finally, Arix finished updating Sanste on the details. "If those words from Archon is true, then it might be worth looking into," Sanste thought to himself. Well, what better way to discover the past then this library which was obviously linked somehow to Archon. Sanste went through the Ornate door with a new goal in mind to discover Archon's story. Sitting down on one of the comfortable chairs, Sanste mentally told Arix to go follow the other two to keep an eye on them and get better at fighting from observing. Afterwards, Sanste followed the faded note's instructions and began thinking of the key phases: "300 years ago", "storm god", "snake god", and "apocalypse". It was time to get to the bottom of this interesting story.

Zarkin walked over to one of the tables and picked up some things most familiar with him. He chose the steel throwing knives, but these throwing knives were different. They almost weighed perfectly to where Zarkin could spin them between his fingers without cutting himself. He seemed to almost be in a trance when all of a sudden Zarkin heard a snap and a dummy across the room awoke. For some reason this startled Zarkin and caused his reflex skills to make him throw three of the knives directly at the dummy making the shape of a small triangle on the dummies head. Feeling pleased with himself Zarkin used the last two throwing knives in each hand to dismember the dummy which seemed to fight back a little bit, he couldn't tell if it was just him or if the dummy really was fighting back.

After seeing that he had totally destroyed the dummy Zarkin immediately took a few paces back and looked at the carnage he had caused. "I hope this is fixable, otherwise I'll get to work on fixing this" Zarkin said as he walked back to the dummy and retrieved the three throwing knives he had previously thrown at the now dismembered training manikin.

"Ah yes, don't worry Zarkin" Archon said snapping again.

Zarkin stood there and watched as the dummy rebuilt itself and stood back in it's former position. Probably the coolest place for training ever! Zarkin said in his head as he placed the throwing knives back and picked up a broad bow with some arrows. These were also things Zarkin had been very useful with, he had a love for a good bow. And upon picking these things up he felt that everything was crafted to perfection. Notching an arrow to the bow Zarkin ran to the left, jumped into the air and shot the arrow quickly at the manikin. Finishing this off with a flip and quickly notching up another arrow Zarkin watched as the first hit the dummy in the head. Choosing his second shot carefully he shot the dummy in the left shoulder, then the right. Zarkin's speed with loading the bow and then shooting and hitting dead on was amazing. This was definitely the true skill of an assassin.

Retrieving his arrows and placing the bow and arrows back where he had found them, Zarkin looked up at Archon and asked with in a joyful manner "Anything else you'd like to see me use? And how about turning up the intensity on this thing, Archon. I'm in need of a challenge!" This was Zarkin's way of possibly getting Archon's approval on Zarkin's amazing abilities. Also Zarkin hoped he could learn a thing or two with some other weapons. He was always willing to widen his diversity on weaponry.

The faint sounds of knifes hitting something wondered into the library but Sanste didn't pay any attention to it. Even the mental communication from Arix was swept aside without a second thought. All of Sanste's attention was devoted to the large number of books that were descending from the various shelves. Some were giant and probably over thousand pages, others were small probably less than hundred pages in thickness. All were covered in dust from the ages they must have sat there. Finally, they arrived on the table neatly in tall stacks.

Carefully taking the nearest one, Sanste examined it for a second. It was a large dusty book with probably a few hundred pages. It was titled "Zeus: The Greek God of Thunder" and underneath that, "An amazing book from another world. Translated by Dr. Noah Budy".

Sanste decided this was close enough after all it was some kind of thunder god which might be the same as a storm god. Even if it was, well, it was always good to learn new things. Dusting off the cover and taking a drink from the wine bottle Sanste began to read the faded pages.

Over the next half hour, Sanste learned all about this amazing greek god, his relatives, and how they were related to the human group called the Greeks. However, Sanste soon grew dizzy. Maybe it was that bottle he had emptied without thinking... After a few more minutes, Sanste passed out with his head at rest on top of page 254 dreaming of Zeus tossing out thunder bolts onto the Greek people.

I assume it is fine to make up random stuff like this? Also, Sanste forgot it was wine and not being used to it... Well, I think you can see.

Btw, I never drank alcohol so I don't really know the affects of it that well since I never experienced it first hand.

It had seemed an eager man was there, ready to fight, and another scholar, yet the golem had not been expected. So. He improvised. He thought over his decision, and scowled at the power it would take to maintain three additions. Normally the main house is enough for him.

"Zarkin, come with me. Arix, yes, I know you're there, go and wake your master. Apparently, a bit of aged wine is too much for him. "

Arix the golem started as Archon called his name, knowing that he was there, behind a rather large crate by the door. With an awkward limp, Archon jumped down from the platform, landing on his feet, the metal floor of the training room clanking, he mumbled a command.

"Stop, Wait, Listen" to the room, where the foci buzzed off, and the various weapons displaced themselves to the table. It seemed to shut off, so Archon walked to another wall, this one having a door already on it, with a crack and a small boom, the room itself collapsed, as the training room dissipated, and the walls were filled in. A slow drumming beat echoed from the walls where gears ground and cracked various platforms into place. The door opened, and Sanste stumbled into the large arena, leaning on his golem, looking slightly drunk, complaining about a headache

"So. Zarkin, i now challenge you, to Battle Royale, against a god. "

Zarkin
11-15-13, 10:18 AM
Zarkin was a little hesitant about the challenged issued to him. Fight a god? He stood no chance, but he figured that it was a once in a lifetime chance to fight a god, let alone a storm god. Archon must've knew what he was doing because Zarkin had little doubt that he would win this battle. None the less he knew what must be done. Zarkin never ran from a fight and he certainly wouldn't run from a challenge issued by a god. If he won the battle he would be a legend. He would definitely be the worlds best assassin then. This was the best thing he could ever have been asked.

"I accept, Archon. To when do you wish to commence this battle?" Zarkin asked with a stern tone of voice. "Also what are the terms? Fight to the death, a wager, or just a friendly duel?"

Sanste
11-18-13, 11:02 PM
Arix watched the human named Zarkin. The assassin had learned his art well. The knifes flew through the air and cut deep into the training dummy. Immediately afterward, he demonstrated his hand to hand combat leaving a headless corpse. If that wasn't enough, the assassin showed his quick reflexes by jumping into the air while shooting his bow.

"Anything else you'd like to see me use? And how about turning up the intensity on this thing, Archon. I'm in need of a challenge!"

"Zarkin, come with me. Arix, yes, I know you're there. Go and wake your master. Apparently, a bit of aged wine is too much for him."

The words from Archon brought the elf's attention to the bond between him and Sanste. The link was behaving strangely and there it was fuzzy. It was like trying to see through a thick fog. Concerned for his master, the elf ran over to the library.

On first glance, his master was no where to be seen although the mental bond seemed to indicate Sanste was in here. Huge stacks of dusty books were piled on a table. A fire burned brightly in the corner but what had happened to his master? “Master Sanste, where are you?” the elf called out both mentally and physically. To answer his question, a loud snore arose from somewhere in the castle of books.

“Even a dumb golem like me should have known,” Arix thought as he began to carefully move the books aside. Finally, he found his master sleeping on a book with a bottle of wine next to him. “That explains it. That old wine must have been too strong for Master Sanste like Archon said.” After some not so gentle shaking, the elf finally got his Master awake.

“Ugh.... My head hurts.... What happened, Arix?”

“Master Sanste, the two men are in the other room with training equipment. Zarkin, the assassin, is very skilled. I don't know if I could beat him if I had to.”

“Oh.... Well.... Umm... Well, I found some interesting information in this book.... Ugh.... Stupid headache... Anyways, the Archon guy might be related to the Greek gods in this book....”

Seeing his Master wanted an answer, the elf helped Sanste to his feet and grabbed up the small golem which had fallen under the table. With Sanste in his current state, the little guy would not be receiving any power or commands so Arix would have to take control of it.

Half walking, half supported by Arix, Sanste made it back into the main room in time to hear Archon challenging Zarkin and the response.

"So. Zarkin, I now challenge you, to Battle Royale, against a god."

"I accept, Archon. To when do you wish to commence this battle?" Zarkin asked with a stern tone of voice. "Also what are the terms? Fight to the death, a wager, or just a friendly duel?"
