As Dannaluth approached the inn, he sighed a sigh of inner ecstasy and relief. Another quest. i wonder what this one entails.. Hell, I don't even know who we're supposed to meet at this tavern. Good thing I called in Zarkin to assist me with this one. He approached the door and opened it. The door squeaked, and he winced. Well that needs oil.. He thought to himself. He walked in and found a seat at the bar.

"One yard of ale, please." He said to the bartender. The barkeeper waved his hand and said a few words and the ale appeared.

"Thanks" Dannaluth said to the bartender, who had disappeared, probably to serve another customer.

As Dannaluth waited for Zarkin to arrive, he also thought about his upcoming quest. He wondered about the shady figure who had called him here. The man said to meet him here. I wonder when he'll show up..

A few hours later, Zarkin finally walked into the tavern.

"Ah! Zarkin! Welcome, dear friend." Dannaluth walked over to his old friend.

"Ah, Dannaluth. Long time, no see. You've yet to get any more handsome, you old hag." Zarkin said playfully.

"Shut up, you old feedsack!" Dannaluth replied. The two laughed jokingly.

"So is the man here yet? I didn't travel all this way to be stood up." Said Zarkin.

"I'm not quite sure when he'll arrive, but I'd be right in guessing it should be soon." Dannaluth replied.

Just as he said this, a shady figure wearing a tiger skin cloak with a Golden Globe sewed on the back walked in.

"Ah! Welcome, friends. Shall we be started?" He said, with a slight, mischievous smile.

The Inventor

Invetisto walked into the bar that he had said he'd meet with the new recruits. The bar was the basic bar with tables throughout and a counter where people could sit and drink. He spotted the men that he was looking for. As he got closer he noticed the look of mistrust on their faces. Invetisto just smiled and said, "Ah! Welcome friends. Shall we get started?"

When the men nodded Invetisto stepped closer and which revealed that he was actually a machine. He had six arms and eight legs. The body was shaped just like a humans as was the head. If one listened closely then a ticking sound could be heard from the chest. His Trading Company Robe almost reached the floor. The first thing he did was reached into his backpack and handed them two bearskin robes. "Here are your robes that you must wear when on Trading Company Business."

Once they took the robes he continued. "If I remember correctly, you guys are fighters. I need you to escort a caravan full of clockwork parts to a local clockmaker. I will be there if you need any help. However, I will not be there to do your job. Try your best then we will decide based on your results. Now would be a good time for any questions."

Zarkin

"First and foremost" Zarkin started "Where is the destination?"

This was important to the two escorts because they knew most of the towns around here and Zarkin wanted to know what to expect on this job. If he was dealing with bandits on the way, or other creatures. He had to know where to go obviously in case the caravan broke down and he could rush to the neighboring town or village in search of some help. And the most obvious was so he knew where to go.

Upon waiting for am answer Zarkin looked around the bar. How unusual for a bar to be almost as empty as it is at the moment Zarkin thought in his head noting that there were only four other people in the bar. Zarkin then drew his attention as invetisto started to answer Zarkin's wuestion.

Invetisto smiled. They're asking the right questions.

"Well, we are heading for the town of Black Widow in Willow Woods. It is an ancient town that specializes in clockwork. These clockmakers are so good that they are asked to make most clocks seen throughout the world. We will also be heading to the capital city of Radasanth with a few crates of finished clocks."

He looked around and noticed the last group of people leave. We really need to get more trading company shops in this small town to increase patrons for this bar. Luckily the one next door is compensating.

"Black Widow.. Sounds familiar. I may have performed a "job" there, of which we shan't talk about. Anyways, I'm in." He said as he pulled on the long cloak. He looked to Zarkin, and they nodded to one another. They were both in.

The Inventor looked at the two men's nods of agreement. He then nodded to them.

"Well, men, I believe the two of you are ready and willing to leave as soon as possible, so shall we leave in the morning?"

Zarkin replied, "As long as I have enough time to gather my essential "equipment", then I can leave as soon as possible."

"I also need to gather "equipment" for our upcoming escort. I believe I'll be ready in the morning. Shall we meet here?" Dannaluth butted in.

"Sounds good." Said both Zarkin and the Inventor.

"Alright, meet you here." Dannaluth replied, as he slowly strolled out of the creaky door to the tavern.

Zarkin

Zarkin left the two back at the bar and strolled home. He lived not far from the bar, only half a mile or so. He didn't live in a regular house, as most people did, he lived with some of the highly trained assassins back at the headquarters. The headquarters was bustling as normal, seeing the newest recruits brought a smile to Zarkin's face. Walking into the building, then into the main wing where Zarkin's room was. He immediately went into his room where one of the other assassins was, packing up for a job he had just been assigned to he looked at who had entered the room. Once he saw who it was he seemed kind of surprised to see Zarkin back so soon.

"So what news do you bring? Anything of interest?" the roommate asked.

"Just a caravan escort to Black Widow then to the capital of Radasanth" Zarkin replied as he started to pack up his belongings for the escort.

"And who is your employer?" asked the roommate.

"The Trading Company" Zarkin replied. Upon hearing this answer the roommate seemed pleased, shown by an exuberant expression crossing his face.

"Oh are assassinations becoming too common for Zarkin, the best around?" the roommate said playfully slugging Zarkin in the shoulder then continuing packing his bag. The two were left in a short silence as they packed their bags. Before the roommate left he told Zarkin that his job was a simple assassination on a gang of bandits heading towards Corone. This seemed like a usual thing now. Bandits always trying to get their hands on anything, doing damn near anything to make a profit. It seemed to Zarkin that the bandits were starting to become either impatient or were desperate and weren't making anything. Damn fools Zarkin spoke lightly to himself.

After he had finished packing Zarkin still had to wait until tomorrow morning before the job was to be started. So Zarkin took this time upon himself to train with the new recruits and with the master. Zarkin hung up both his black wool cloak and the robe he had gotten from Invetisto, walked down the main wing, down the stairs, outside and into the courtyard. The metallic sound of swords, knives and other weapons clanging against eachother rang in Zarkin's ears as he stepped outside. I will always love this sound Zarkin thought as he walked up to the master to observe the scene. After watching the newest recruits work Zarkin was utterly satisfied and started his every day training session with the master.
