I'm sure there is a handful of you still feeling the spins from last night's festivities or laughing about the adventures that occurred over the weekend. Since my Halloween ventures were poor, (didn't even exist for that matter) I would like to hear the stories of what I missed. Let's see some costumes while you're at it!
Post up and let's hear how your Halloween went!

I managed to go two mic breaks on one of the stations I'm on in an Igor voice before my throat felt like I had shoved a chainsaw down it.
Then I listened to the Orson Welles broadcast of War of the Worlds and watched Solar Haven stream Pokemon while I played Pokemon myself.

I ate pizza.
I forgot that Halloween was yesterday... Well, didn't have any plans for it anyways so didn't really matter.
Well aren't we a fun lot? Pizza and Pokemon! I see everyone had a grand time on the one night you can wear whatever you want.
I dressed up and went to a "party" where no one really brought anything. I played one game of beer pong and lost to some unusual house rules. Came home to an unwelcome pet since the owner is too sick to take hare of it. Then spent the rest of my night listening to it whine.
At this point, it sounds like I was the most festive out of everyone.
Probably so. Or maybe the people who had a ton of fun still are recovering from their fun. Personally, I don't really like Halloween and never bothered to dress up. Not to mention my house is out in the middle of nowhere (ok, not quite that far) and no one comes by for trick or treat.

I took the "wear whatever you want" part to sit in my room, naked apart from a straw hat.

We took the children to the fair. I got nauseous. I'm getting too old for the super spinny stuff at the fair.
Then we came home and had nachos & cheese for dinner.
Oh, I also left my wallet in my mother-in-law's car.
Good times.

I sprained my ankle on Sunday which forced my wife to take the kids out Trick or Treating. I had to stay home and dole out the goodies to the kids who came by. My wife prefers to stay at home and I prefer to walk with the kids. The hardest part for me with the injury to my ankle is, I'm a student of Martial Arts. I hold an orange belt in Krav Maga, an Israeli Self-defense form. I'll be off my feet for the next 6-8 weeks. That means, no Krav! It also means, that when the next graduation comes along in late December, I'll still be a damn orange belt for the next session. Grrrrr!

Personally, I always preferred my training with Tae Kwon Do and Jeet Kune Do.
But, my personal favourite martial art would probably be Capoiera. Now, if only there was anywhere in Scotland relatively close to me that taught it. -_-

What would somebody need to know to get into Krav Maga?
I stayed up late finishing a self-paced course in school that was due by 12:00 AM. I finished at 11:30, so that was the first time this year I stayed up late for anything like school-work. Other than that, I had a lot of fun scaring people at Trunk or Treat xD

I baked cupcakes last night for my Hallowe'en party, which is tomorrow. I will post pictures!
Sadly, I can't find any pumpkins so my Hallowe'en party is sans Jack-o-Lanterns. I'm super sad about this. My house won't look the same without freaky faces staring at all of my guests. Oh well... *sniffles*

What would somebody need to know to get into Krav Maga? The location of a nearby dojo that taught the art. It is a common sense approach to personal defense. My instructors call it the art of self-counter attack. When someone attacks you, your reaction should be, attack, attack, attack! until your attacker gives up the desire to continue. You may not need to beat him senseless, but more than likely, he will be in a bloody heap on the ground if you do things correctly.
I'm not going to say one form is better than another. If you are already training in one, then more power to you. Krav is not artsy. It is not pretty. The first move they teach you is the groin kick. That move is banned from MMA fights.
Video: How to End a Fight in Seconds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m24b2JBNEZc). This video was produced in Melbourne, Australia. It is the same techniques I am learning. When the Aussie blocks the first attack and commits the palm heel strike to the nose, I like to follow that immediately with an elbow in close and then hammer fist to the left side of the head. Then follow that with either a groin kick or simply repeated knee strikes to the chest and abdomen until the attacker drops.
This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKfpXibNEq8) is of my instructor, Sensei Chris Cole who is an MMA fighter. He holds black belts in Muy Thai, Kenpo Karate, Tae Kwan Do and Krav Maga. The guy with the tatoo on the back and over the right shoulder is Sensei Cole. He is small but quick. He is very fast and can do a lot of things most of us wouldn't even consider. In this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKfpXibNEq8), he kicks Chris Concepcion's butt.
Warpath, take a look at the Krav Maga Worldwide forum (http://www.kravmaga.com/forum/index.php). Someone there may have an idea for you, to help find a Krav dojo in your area.

I had a small party of close friends. I made dinner and several baked things. By some other standards it was probably pretty dull, but we had fun just hanging out. We watched Coraline (well... they did. I was too busy in the kitchen for most of the movie) and Casper. I'll get my friend to text me pics she took in a little while and put them up.
Oh and we passed out candy of course. Lots of cute little costumes. Has a set of bugs come and one of them had to tell me how s/he (couldn't really tell in the dark and costume) had a star wand and the other had a heart wand. So cute!
I got impeccably stoned the day before and just lounged Halloween day

Did my hair and makeup (https://scontent-a-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/1385198_10153423985810593_416486299_n.jpg) for work. I startled a few of the office gophers that came in for meetings, fun times.
My neighborhood gets over a thousand trick or treaters, we ran out of candy in less than an hour and then pretended not to be home. My Halloween celebrations happened today, got my half-sleeve started (http://24.media.tumblr.com/7cfc27ab933fd57af145a02a0b21c2ba/tumblr_mvm8c6vGiT1sj8j08o1_500.jpg) and went to a costumed game night! Cards Against Humanity is pretty much the best.

My Halloween night was uneventful, which is sad to me because Halloween is my favorite time of year next. I mostly spend the day doing homework for my advance web authoring class :(. Hopefully next year I will be doing something much more exciting!
