So I'm curious as to whether any of you are getting next gen gaming systems or not.
Personally, I'm starting with the PS4. I preordered at Walmart, sadly, but at least I'll get it opening day. I originally was going to buy Watchdogs with the system, but since Ubisoft pushed it back I think I'll begin with Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. I'm torn on what to do with Call of Duty: Ghosts though. I buy all of my Call of Duty games on Xbox, but don't plan on getting the One until the first price drop ($500 is steep, even for Dirks). So I can't decide whether to get Ghosts tonight for my 360 or wait and get it for PS4 (though most of the people I would play it with are Xbox folks).
Any advice?

I think I'll stick to my 360 for the most part. And my original X-box, for all the awesome nostalgia games I still play.
Though I will be considering getting a PS 4, even if only for the release of Thief 4.
I personally am planning on getting the Xbox 1 ASAP. However, I don't think I'll be able to afford it when it comes out.
I kicked my xbox to the curb. Microsoft is just too lacking in console specific titles. If the game is good, it is usually on both systems. Halo is their headstone and they need to start securing contracts with some of these companies so they can begin creating a niche audience. Nintendo has the kids, playstation is aiming for full spectrum, therefore Xbox should focus on adults. Currently the Xbox One is intended to be an enetertainment engine over a game console. This personally troubles me. I also had my last straw when Microsoft forced me to do some security nonsense that seemed to loop endlessly. I shall not even start with my calls to customer service. Xbox Gold is also a paid to play online service. Playstation is free to play. Plus, a paid subscription allows you access to free goodies including full game downloads. I played infamous 2, uncharted 3, and Deus Ex, without an extra penny from my wallet.
For gaming, the logical choice seems to be Sony. Until Microsoft pulls out the stops and picks a solid direction, they are playing catch-up with the two major contenders. Sell that crap and go PS4 or PC.

If you get it for PS4, I will too.

X, the new Smash Bros., and Watchdogs all being on the Wii U means I'll be looking to get one in the new year after a long console hiatus.

Man, I was going to get an XBone just because everybody else was. Plus I'm all about Killer Instinct. Now I'm not sure though, with all this bullshit with CoD not being able to run at both 1080 and 60Hz. I might just wait for a few more big cross-platform titles to come out before I make my decision.

Eh, I sit 4 feet away from a plasma TV, so those issues aren't too important to me. If for whatever reason I had a 120 hz(+) LED, I would just shut it off for gaming anyway. I also only play multiplayer, so Internet lag is more detrimental to my game than FPS lag.

Yeah that's fair. Honestly you'll probably be just as happy with either then, since there really doesn't seem to be a huge difference between them otherwise yet. In your shoes I'd probably get the PS4 just because it's cheaper and it sounds like you'll have enough people to play it with to make it worthwhile. Plus a PS4 would be dodging any hardware shortcomings anyway.
Edit: Let's be honest, I'm going to end up getting both, I'm just not sure which first. Put a gun to my head today I'd probably say PS4, but I'd still look at KI sadly.

I've been getting really into the HB13, there are still a lot of bugs where the systems take time to recuperate, but the graphics and real-time experience is unparalleled.

Did any of you pick up Ghosts on Xbox? If you did, I'd love to play a round with you.

Unfortunately, with the way console game design and market decisions based on consumer reactions have been going, I don't see myself picking up either the Xbone or PS4. I never was able to enjoy hyperrealistic graphics or FPS games, so I do believe that I'll be sticking with the 3DS for the time being.

So, PS4 is out now, did the dudes that said they were going to get one end up getting one? I still kinda have a shot at getting one this week, but it will be at the same time I could possibly get an XBone, so I'm conflicted again.

I'm probably getting one Tuesday, if we can find one available.

I got the PS4, pretty sweet.
Passing on the XB1 for now. I'll probably get one in early spring when they're readily available.
I am going to stick with PC for now & current consoles.
If you build a PC right you're set for a while.
Or you could upgrade them yearly, if you're a fiend like that...
PC eh? What do you play? I recently acquired a massive gaming machine.

I'm torn. Do I sell my old consoles to pay for an XB1 or do I keep them?
At this point, I wouldn't be married to my XB360 (but would like to keep it for Ghosts until I get an XB1), but I would like to keep the PS3. I've got 50 games, 10 are unplayed and South Park is coming out soon only for PS3/XB360. Then again, I am moving and could use the space. Apparently Sony is revealing something called Gaikai that might allow me to play my old games (and if Battlefield & Ghosts can be updated and played on the new system, why not every game). Of course, credit amount now will be much higher than in the future for these consoles. What do you think?
Ditch the XBOX for it's lack of premium titles and hang onto the PS3 unless they allow cross compatibility on the PS4. Sony has too many good titles. I still play PSX, PS2, and have some PS3 I refuse to sell. The XBox, however, has failed to impress me with any of their premium games and I have not kept any of its titles for the sake of replay. Halo only goes so far.
