History: Living in the depths of the planet, Downfall and other balrogs have their own society. When ever intruded upon they fight and destroy the intruders, but live peacefully among themselves. Downfall is no acceptation to this. He is a guardian of the core and will protect it with his life, or at least, he would have been, if it wasn't for that cave-in that sealed his access to the core. He now has to wander the surface in search of another way home.

Appearance: A behemoth creature of fire. Downfall is known as the blue beast for his blue flames. He is humanoid with long curved horns that come to a point out in front of his head. He has a mane of blue fire that goes down his back. His bat like wings are warn but without holes. He has body looks like white hot coals burning from the blue fire in his body. His back is slouched forward like all of his kind. He is a menacing form but a gentle hart.

Skills:

Whip Use - Downfall's specialty is the whip, in fact, that is the only weapon he uses. While most belrogs prefer the sword. Downfall only uses the whip.

Flame Suppression - Downfall has learned how to suppress his flames to the point it won't escape his body. It is now useful so that he doesn't leave a trail of destruction as he searches for a new home.

Abilities:

Flame Body - Downfall's body is made entirely out of 200oF flames and rock. Because of this anybody who touches or even gets close to him will get burned, unless he is suppressing his flames.

Flaming Roar - When Downfall roars flames pour out of his mouth. These flames can reach 150oF and reach about 3 feet away before it starts to cool.

Equipment/Weapons:

Flaming Whip - A 60 foot whip made entirely out of fire. He keeps this whip on hip at all times. It is connected straight to his core so when he suppresses his flame the whip extinguishes itself leaving only the handle.

Hell's Arena is simply too powerful as written. Autoignition temperatures are based on the density of the material that is ignited. A piece of paper might autoignite at 451 degrees, for example (Farenheit 451, right?), but a solid book would require much higher temperatures. A tree, for example, would require between 600 and 1000 degrees to combust. Heat also disburses through air, cooling as particles slow. This makes sense. It's warmer by the fire than on the other side of the camp site. Thus, for your ability to perform as desired, you would have to raise Downfall's core temperature to 1000s of degrees to cause a 600 degree rise across the battlefield that would instantly burn dense materials in order to make it "look like hell." This would instantly destroy flesh (cremation ovens are around 5000 degrees) and melt most Althanas metals. Not good for a level 1 character.

Perhaps we could allow a temporarily high core temperature that would a) potentially burn an opponent that got too close and b) cause some less dense materials to combust with contact. How does that sound?

Lava is still at least 1200 degrees. I'd prefer that you limited your internal heat to around 200 degrees (which will still burn most things with sustained contact). If you make it so you can do this once per battle for a short time, I can get it to an appropriate power level. You also need to specify the range of your flaming roar. Could you also shorten the whip to about 15 feet to begin?

Okay, the lava field is lava that is partly cooled but isn't completely. These fields are able to be walked across in Hawaii but never stood on. However, I did make it so that it creates the lava then lets it start to cool.

The roar only reaches three feet before it starts to cool.

The whip is at the normal User_Height:Whip_Length Ratio. If I was to make it 15 feet then it wouldn't even reach his feet. It is a bull whip which is anywhere from 15-30 feet long for a 5' human. I went with the high end at 30 feet. If you want I can change it so that it is the ratio for the 15 which would be 60 feet. but can't go any lower then that.
