June
09-15-06, 12:25 PM
Known Name: Junecat of the Harrow
Given Name: Brianna Overvice
Age: 28
Race: Human (Barbarian)
Hair Color: Dirty Blonde
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 5’11
Weight: 99 lbs
Occupation: Piratess

Personality: June is an intrinsically good person, though her morals and prejudices have inevitably been shaped by the crew of the SS Harrow, the place where she has spent much of her life. She’s a poor pirate though, she does not have the cruel streak or the real desire to pilfer and plunder. That said though, June is a selfish person and covets everything that she values with such fervor that it certainly borders on obsession. She does not steal often but when she sees something that is able to steal her attention, the piratess will certainly try her hardest to steal it. However, she won’t try if the task becomes difficult because even though she does possess the skills, June is also a very lazy person and eventually her mind tells her that she does not really desire that object.

Appearance: From head to toe, June is a beauty. Her figure is slim, yet voluptuous, her body athletic from her heritage and years working on the SS Harrow, yet womanly through the god’s good graces. Her dirty blonde hair might smell salty from the years that they were exposed to the open ocean, but whether she secures them behind a bandanna or lets them run their full length to just past her shoulder blades, it looks lovely. Her brown eyes are vibrant, full of life and able to charm any that look their way.

Her clothes change with the tides but the one thing that stays constant are the rings that move around all her hands, barring her right index finger.

History:

Brianna was the first in a long line of children for Marcus and Carina Overvice, barbarians in the Tribe of the Harpy, a nomadic group which roam around Corone. When she was about six months old though, her tribe was routinely attacked by a band of goblins. Normally easy pickings, the overconfident humans let their guard down and toyed with the creatures, even enslaving the survivors once their bloodlust had passed. The goblins put their heads down and followed, one by one dying away until only one remained, Akkar the seawhacker, as dubbed by his people.

Akkar was the craftiest of them all and even though he knew that through mistreatment, he would soon die, the goblin bided his time, his eyes locked on the growing belly of Carina Overvice and on the small one known as Brianna. On the day of the second Overvice child’s birth, Akkar took advantage of the commotion and rushed in, stealing Brianna from her cradle. So used to the goblin that the baby girl did not cry until she realized she would never see her parents again.
So euphoric was he with his apparent intelligence, Akkar sprinted off in a random direction for the rest of the day, not even knowing what he was doing, but delighted that he had stolen something from the barbarians and had exacted revenge. It was only when his legs grew tired and had bought him to the nearest port town of Dellage that he realized that the thing that he had stolen could not be sold for anything monetary. It was then that Brianna started to cry and loudly she did for her barbarian lungs allowed her to shout and scream so that the entire of Dellage was alerted to their newest intruder.

Without thinking, Akkar dropped the baby and pushed it as a peace offering to the approaching humans and ran off, hoping that they were satisfied with his present and would not chase him. It was then that the first event that would shape Brianna Overvice into Junecat of the Harrow happened for the townspeople decided that she was adopted by Captain James Revollier, the widowed and retired captain of the lone ship docked at Dellage, the SS Harrow.

Revollier named her after his deceased wife, June. They lived happily for a few weeks, Brianna even beginning to recognize Revollier as her father after just a few short days. Unfortunately, the barbarian tribe, searching for their missing daughter and that elusive goblin started to rush around. Mistaking them for a raiding party and fearing for their safety, the small town of Dellage dispersed. Most were the aging crew under Revollier, old members of the Corone Navy and they quickly realized that the only way they could escape was to sea.

It didn’t take long for the old folks to realize that their skills had grown obsolete along with their now weak bodies. Slowly, but surely… after venturing into many different fields, Revollier and his crew descended into piracy to survive at sea. Some returned to Dellage, disgusted at the thought of committing these crimes, but most had fallen in love with the sea and their Captain promised they would only attack those that were “evil.” In truth, Revollier had been given dishonorable discharge by the Corone Navy for reasons beyond his own control and was now bitter. His life in Dellage had softened him a bit but being back at sea had rubbed salt in those wounds and he was now angrier than ever before at the sea and those who sailed on it. Luckily for June, she had already burrowed a way into the salty captain’s heart by then.

Slowly, Revollier realized that his aging crew had to be replaced to truly succeed at life. To get rid of the deadweight, he intentionally attacked a large merchant freighter and when most of his now useless crew were on it, he detonated the explosives and sailed away into the sunset, laughing. Only the able bodied now remained and they were now bitter and angry, not knowing the true cause behind the explosion, believing their captain’s poor alibis.

And so after a quick stop off to recruit new members to replace the deceased, the now senile pirate captain created the environment for which to raise his child, Junecat of the Harrow.

Skills:

Swordplay – An average swordsman, she knows little more than the basics through practice. Can dual wield bladed weapons at an elementary level through trial and error but has had no formal training.

Marksmanship – Can hit a static target from twenty meters (though the area hit will vary) and a moving target from five meters. The capability is there but there are questions on his reliability and ability to hit the aimed area. Takes twenty seconds to load and ready a flintlock for firing. Cannot use any other type of firearm.

Thievery – Can pickpocket, steal, sneak, pick locks and can sense and disable basic traps. Knows how to walk without being heard by normal human hearing. She can perform basic tricks with a basic knowledge of sleight of hand.

Seafarer – Knows how to sail a ship, what needs to be done and has an appropriate knowledge of how to do everything. Although unreliable at times, she can determine weather by things like smell, animals and looking at the sky.

Barbarian Strength – Even though at her age, she should be many times stronger than the average human, June has not been practicing feats of strength and thus has not reached anywhere near her potential. Her strength and agility are only slightly greater than the average human’s.

Equipment: June carries with her two weapons at all times, strapped alongside anything else she might need to a belt across her stomach. Together, they are known as Harpy Wings. The first is a steel sabre, formerly belonging to a Jeremy Noble, a Corone Navy Captain who was unfortunately the victim of a typical SS Harrow raid. Recently commissioned as the leading cadet in his school, Noble was presented with the Sword of Honor, a blade that was enchanted to appear as if it were made of gold. The other half of June’s arsenal in a 9 inch long steel dirk, stolen from a merchant sailor.

Within each of her four rings, June stores a mild sedative. The ring is actually a holder for these sedatives and if ingested or breathed in, the victim will start to feel drowsy and fall asleep within twenty minutes. She has about 20 g in total.

The rings, of course, will be rped out instead of always taking place. If a person does not want to have their character knocked out they have the right to rp out of it...

Since you do no have a flintlock I suppose that your marksmanship is only if you do get a weapon.

With that, APPROVED.
