View Full Version : Larcener
I've decided to swap the character
Name: Merse Granstrum
Age: 34
Height:6’1
Weight 194 lbs
Occupation: The worlds greatest Information Broker
Affilication: PRIME
Aliases: Liaision, The Black Cat
Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JPn2P28D0o
Personality: This sly tongued businessman like most at the top of their craft was well versed in the art of deception. His job was to give facts and that you could trust but if there was no transaction attached you really shouldn't’ trust the slightest gesture from this being. Not much is known about this past and his empire seemly rose from nowhere. Not many even knew what he looked like and when they did not much could be said other than that he was literally a cat. Sleekly dressed in business attire, he never seemed to lose his cool or look disgruntled when faced with the dangers of his every day task. There were many people who wanted to kill him and many have tried, and yet he remains alive and well. To resume with this type of work it wasn't a surprise he was far from a pushover.
Abilities
Ergokinesis(two abilties): Aisles is able to manipulate energy in a large matter of ways depending on how he controls it. He’s able to strengthen a limb or even his body to strengthen his body to points where his physical strength and destruction power are increased. His biggest strength with this ability is that he could use it to be able to increase his strength and withstand heavy physical punishment.
As for your body hardening, he is able to strengthen a single limb for a post (about 2 minutes in character) twice per thread. If he were to strengthen his entire body he could do that for one post once per thread. His punches are be able to crack weaker bones such as a rib or nose.
Skill:
A cat always lands on his toes: Merse for some odd reason had the ability to swing and twist his frame unrealistically while in mid air. Where as the laws of the universe say this is impossible, Merse is able to alter his position at will.
Equipment
An iron staff that can change in size from the range of an inch to 10 feet. It can also increase in solidarity and bend at demand.

Hi! Welcome to Althanas! I'll be working with you on getting your character approved! Feel free to private message me if you have any questions!
Bullet Time: May be confused with superspeed, bullet time is the ability to slow down time perceptually, in order to fight at such extraordinary speeds that the he can't be hit or shot. When increased by Merse’s Nether output it can reach levels that defy logic. The catch was he wasnt particularly fast outside of this ability. The entirety of his speed was based off of this ability actually.
This is quite a bit too strong for a level one. You can still have the ability but we will need to weaken it quite a bit. You could allow him to slow time perceptually but we will need to put some limitations on how much he can slow it as well as how long he is able to do this for. At no point can a character have an ability that makes it impossible for them to be hit though, so we will need to drop that bit.
Ergokinesis: Aisles is able to manipulate energy in a large matter of ways depending on how he controls it. He’s able to strengthen a limb or even his body to strengthen his body to points where his physical strength and destruction power are increased. He also can strengthen body parts individually so that he could even catch a sword with his bare hands without the risk of being cut. His biggest strength with this ability is that he could use it to be able to increase his strength and withstand heavy physical punishment.
This is actually going to count as two abilities the way it is stated. The increased strength would be separate from the hardened body.
In order for me to figure out exactly how powerful this is I need to know about what strength he can make his body parts as well as how long he can sustain the hardening.

Is he just more limber than most people? This will count as an ability if so, which will give you too many abilities. You are allowed up to three at level one.
Equipment
A staff that can change in size from the range of an inch to 10 feet. It can also increase in solidarity and bend at demand.
How does the staff change size? Is it instant or does it grow over time? Also, what material is the staff made from?

I believe I worded that wrong. When I say "Couldn't be hit or shot" I mean that theoretically but yes what it is essentially is a different way to state that my character has super-fast reflexes . I'm willing to scrap this ability all together if need be to pass. And how slow time is going for my character makes it appear in slow motion. I don't really have any specific measurements of time.

In a sense a hardened exterior could be the result of strength but Im willing to lose the super strength if recommend it.

- Strength wise he would be able to crack bones with his punches and have the ability to lift about a ton.
-And about sustaining. I never really thought about how long but I usually use ergokinesis as something he has for elongated periods of time. Again, here as well I will take recomendations.

Aside from being extremely nimble the real ability is actually hard to explain. The best example I can give is that if he was thrown off a roof top head first he'd be able to turn his body enough to land feet first, taking away from the impact.

The staff is actually Adamantine, a mythical element which hardness is comparable to diamond. Also its comparable to the well known Power Pole wielded by Goku for the majority of dragonball. Mentally its linked with its user and grows by expanding its mass.

Okay, we still need to put a number on this so other players are able to understand and so I can figure out exactly how powerful it is. For level one, we could say that he can slow time so that a person running ten miles per hour seems to be traveling seven. If you consider it in terms of a speed boost for him he would be on par with Olympic athletes, does that work?

The strength would count as a separate ability under our system. If you keep it we will have to remove another ability as your weapon will count against your total of three because of its enchantment. As for your body hardening, For now we can say he is able to strengthen a single limb for a post (about 2 minutes in character) twice per thread. If he were to strengthen his entire body he could do that for one post once per thread. For now you can have the limb be able to crack weaker bones such as a rib or nose, but not a pelvis or a skull, as those take quite a bit more pressure to break.

If you want to keep this as a skill that is fine, just note the while he is trained to move his body in ways that most can't (think of an acrobat) he can't change his size/shape.

We don't allow metal tiers as high as Adamantine at level one. For now the staff would need to be iron and it can be upgraded in the bazaar once you are approved. Please also note that if the staff becomes ten feet it will be much harder to wield.

I'll scrap this ability until I can use it to the constrains of how its intended to be used.

Alright. I guess thats how it has to be then

Yeah It was never intended to change his shape or size.

Iron it is I suppose.

Alright then, if you'll just edit your first post to reflect the changes we should be good to go.
Alright the changes are finished

Almost there I promise, we just need to take this part out in order to make that ability on the right power level. You can always upgrade this at your next update.
