Apologize for what?

In essence, for producing him (you can probably guess my stance on the topic from that).

It's well made and all, and both men had their faults. But seriously.

Ken-You ponderously talk about "kinds" Erm, sorry, if we bred a German Shepard with another German Shepard, then a Great Dane doesn't just pop out. And then there's the adamant defense that we use thr word evolution wrong.

Bill-Overuse of "umm/uh" He talks about himself a lot,it almost always gets back to"I lived in wag. State for a while. At least he addressed some more, important topics. 4k years. Wow. I don't think that's enough time for thousands of layers sedimentary rock to form. So on.

So. Both present valid points. But bill seemed to have the best wy with it. Less "this scientist, and this one" more actual relations.

I can counter your problem with your example for bill. you can breed a German Shepherd and Great Dane to get a mix, that means that they are the same "kind" of creature. You can also breed a Wolf and a German Shepherd and get a mix which makes a wolf the same "kind" as a Great Dane & German Shepherd. Now he brought up that "kind" goes back to family and it has been discovered that Wolves, Domestic dogs, Foxes, Jackals, and Coyotes can all be breed with each other. These species all belong to the Family called Canidae or as the common folk like to call it, Canines. Now in the bible the Lord said to take two of every kind on the ark, so instead of having to take two of every animal, he would of just had to have taken two of every Family on the boat. The result is what we have now. The offspring received certain genes from the parents and split up into the Genus than Species we see today. It has nothing to do with evolution and everything to do with the passing down of genes. So his Point-of-View is still valid, even if not accepted.

I believe the opposite of what you say when it comes to believing Bill had the better argument. It was all about himself. Bill never referenced any other scientist unlike Ken who referenced many other scientist. A scientist needs to reference others in a debate to show how valid his claim is. Without a reference to other scientists you can't confirm anything.

Stupid debate is stupid. Nobody is going to be convinced one way or the other on the subject. If you believe the world is 6000 years old, no logical argument or scientific fact is going to sway you otherwise.

Genius for marketing though. Nothing draws attention like talking about religion on the internet. There's a reason these threads end up closed pretty fast (and I have no doubt this one will be too).

Eh, I've started downloading (no youtube watching for me). Although I doubt it'll change my mind regardless of what it is said ;)

I think Bill Nye knew what he was doing. There's no way he thought he would suddenly convince Ken Ham of evolution, and to do so would have actually been contrary to his real argument. He wants more people, specifically kids and teenagers, to be interested in science and to want to understand how things works and not just take another person's opinion/findings as fact. He cares less about kids reading a science text book and being convinced of evolution than he cares about kids wanting to find things out for themselves. We can't get new technology from the Bible. We also can't get new technology from currently existing science texts and articles.

Bill Nye is a scientist. Honestly, if he managed to convince people that creation is false and evolution is true by quoting some 'facts' from other scientists and texts, he'd probably be pretty freaking disappointed. He wasn't there to teach us evolution is true. He debated to teach us that it is important for us to make our own decisions and do our own experiments.
