Djinn
02-08-14, 09:07 AM
Specifically this is made in partnership to "The Young Master", Abel Wilder.
Specifics:
Name: Kaine Ignatius
Nickname/Alias: The "Demon", Djinn Kaine
Age: 123
Race: Djinn (fire-demon)
Height: 6ft 3”
Weight Normal
Occupation: In contract to serve Abel Wilder for life in exchange for Abel's soul.
History:
Please see bottom as it is fairly long.
Personality:
Grumpy at times, can be a through pain in the ass, but mostly polite in front of social and proper company. For those that know him personally he is sick of working in this world and only longs to get back to H’Ades but also is sticking out to finish off his revenge on the Wilder family (see History). He puts up with Abel and treats him like any loyal servants might, until he gets irritated by the kid and questions him. He is smart himself, witty and often comes out with sarcastic remarks when with friends, and tends to talk to himself a lot.
Appearance:
In his True Form Kaine appears as a lion-headed, quadruple-antlered massive winged beast on fire. As detailed below though, under "skills" this form is not in use for very long.
He is on Althanas appearing as a 6ft 3inches human with crimson hair and golden eyes and pasty skin. He wears something close to a butler's tailcoat when in the Wilder mansion and serving but perfers to have bare feet. When out and fighting he can be found wearing a tunic and leg wrappings. He has the mark of his contract, a burn resembling a chain and shackle around the upper left arm, but this is usually covered.
Familiar:
He is often followed by a small red drakeling, who is harmless but looks like a mangled dragon the size of a small retrevier, called Ignis.
Kaine also is, to an extent, Abel's familiar.
Skills:
Ettiquette - Kaine is a master of ettiquette, having learnt after serving a number of masters and mistresses how to be polite in human society and to keep himself unharmed when it comes to them. He is also very proficient in serving as a butler should, and quietly prides himself on the skills.
Fashion - He has a rather odd interest in fashion, and has a keen eye for anything that “goes well together”. If one needs to find out what colours and trimming best suits them Kaine is the person to go to, for all body types including orc. He keeps Abel highly dressed in suitable clothes for any occasion and carries around with him a small bag of thread and needles just in case.
Messenger - Kaine has had many masters and mistresses in the past, and every time he comes out of H’Ades, the Djinn part of Hell, he picks up experience, one of these definitely being a fast and enduring messenger, from simple letters to artefacts of high and precious power. In his early life also he was a scribe in the Court of Ifrits in H’Ades, with excellent skill in the written word.
True Form (LOCKED) - As a Djinn Kaine has a “True Form” which is essentially a giant lion-headed, quadruple antlered, ton-mass winged beast on fire. Unfortunately he cannot go into this form without Abel’s express permission and also having been in H’Ades within a month, where he has not been for a couple of years now.
Abilities:
Disappear - As his form suggests Kaine has connections to the element of fire and smoke, and linking to the latter once a thread he can firstly vanish, also dropping his spell over Abel, just like a puff of smoke.
Teleport - Close to his invisibility Kaine can literally spirit Abel and himself away, from one place to another. At level one this will be limited to once per thread and at a distance of up to ten metres, but will increase by more every level. It also takes one post to perform this - so the teleportation can be interrupted. They will start to vanish from the starting point in one, and in the next post arrive at the second. This ability also causes him to be weakened for two more posts, where he is unable to evade any fire damage and is more susceptible to injury.
Fire-Spells - With power over fire Kaine uses this as his main weapon.
1; a simple fire-ball, that will cause second degree burns capable of being thrown up to ten metres
2; creating a fire, basically lighting wood up without the need of flint
3; controlling fire - if fire is already there, present, Kaine can manipulate it to reverse back on the attacker or into a fire-ball
4; also with these he is slightly fireproof - resists up to 15% of flames directed at him
Equipment/Weapons:
Always has with him a trunk full of clothes for Abel for a variety of purposes and occaisions.
Weapons are his fire ability, so not carried.
Has a number of small twigs and useful bits of wood to spread a fire if needs be.
History:
When Kaine was created he had a twin sister, Frida, who came into existence at the exact same time in the same place. Like himself she was a Djinn, a fire-demon with very similar powers and simply a female version of his true form. They gained “jobs” together within the Court of Ifrits in H’Ades, until Kaine was summoned first into the human realm. When he returned he found that Frida had been summoned, and though he searched high and low for her he could not find her - until he managed to get back to the human realm again.
When there he found out that Frida had been forced to ascend to Heaven, which instantly killed her as a freshman out of H’Ades by a noble family called the Wilders. Kaine had little time, however, before he was sent out to work for his master at the time. When he was next in H’Ades he tried to find recompense and justice through the Court of Ifrits but they could not give him any hope. After all Summoners have the power over demons and it is impossible to fight against a Summoning.
So Kaine then swore to gain his vengeance for the only being he has ever cared for by himself, and waited for many decades until the opportunity came and he wound his way into being summoned during a ritual before the intelligent and power-hungry young Abel Wilder. Abel was the victim at this particular time, but the young boy offered his own soul in exchange for Kaine's obedience. The first thing he asked him to to do was kill his parents, and Kaine did this without question - after all they were the same Wilders who had destroyed Frida. For a few hours Kaine was a little satisfied, amazed that he had got his revenge in such an easy way, but was rather shocked when Abel told him that Kaine was to stay around.
Now Kaine is contractually bound to Abel for long-term, and in exchange for his life servitude Abel has granted Kaine his soul. Souls are a delicacy in H’Ades, especially Summoner souls, and Kaine had little choice but to stay around. As such he is often grumpy, and at times tests the bonds that Abel places on him, questioning his given tasks, much to the power-obsessed kid’s frustration. He cannot transform into his True Form currently as he has been away from H’Ades too long, and this stresses him. Instead the best he can do is become like smoke and vanish, but he has the need at the moment to keep Abel alive, for if Abel ever died by Kaine’s hands Kaine would, contractually, be sent to the Bottomless Pits of Tartarus in Hell for all eternity, somewhere not even a demon cares to venture.
But in these years Kaine’s anger has also grown. He now considers the death of Abel’s parents not enough and has decided that he can only truly avenge Frida’s death, who he considers his wife now, by the complete destruction of the Wilder company and House.
Recently Kaine came across an abandoned house, in which there was a sturdy lock box and in that box there was a runt drakeling, a type of dragon the size of a dog. He called him Ignis and ever since Ignis has followed him around like an abandoned puppy, making noises sounding like he is constantly throwing up. Ignis is harmless, and breathes “fire” which dissipates as soon as it leaves his mouth. Ignis has but one purpose - he has the ability to keep Abel from knowing about Kaine’s past connection with the Wilder family. He is essentially a type of mental guard for one specific piece of person’s history and this is it, only.
Another thing to mention: Kaine hates the term "Demon" and prefers "Djinn", or even "Ifrit" but Abel insists on just calling him a demon. This can make Kaine get into very nasty tempers ending with entire buildings being set on fire. Note; do not call him a demon to his face.
