He sat upon his throne, fingers strummed along the arms. His head rested upon his other hand as sign that the nobleman Mystic had grown bored in his house. Darkness surrounded him; save for the dozens of red eyes that stared longingly at their ‘master’. His eyes had adjusted to the darkness, settled on the lone figure that stood upon the blood red carpet. He sighed as his fingers tapped along the redwood furniture, and he finally spoke to the mysterious blob.

“Allow me to get this straight,” He straightened himself up, back against the soft fabric of his throne, “Sei was supposed to come here after his battle with Steppenwolf to challenge me. It was part of the deal we had all agreed upon, and yet, he is not here.” The hand that held his head moments before now grabbed at the rapier that lay before his feet. Raising the blade, he pointed it towards this envoy, tip first. The image resembled a God on a flight of stairs condemning man for his sins.

“And yet, he sends you here, a mockery of our magics. Is this supposed to be some kind of joke?” At the end of his question, the eyes began to hiss. Ciato Orlouge stood up, a good twenty stairs between him and the tainted messenger. “Talen Shadowalker, I find your very presence to be an affront to not only my senses, but to my culture. I am a very lenient Mystic, so I will give you a whole thirty seconds to leave my sight before I slaughter you like the filthy pig you are.”

The hisses of the ‘litter’, Ciato’s brood, turned from hisses to cheers. The children’s eyes shifted towards the small figure of Talen Shadowalker. This was a man who had been known as the ‘Sentinel of the Cell’, a powerful warrior and one of Sei’s most loyal generals. To utterly destroy him would not only be a devastating blow to Sei, but to the whole of the Ixian Knights. Above all else, the litter smacked their lips almost in unison.

Talen would make a fitting meal.
