Duffy Bracken is dead. Destroyed in body and mind by the Forgotten One Oblivion, his essence has returned to the Tap. There, rekindling his progeny's strength, Tantalus was awoken from five centuries of sleep. Though Duffy's memories, and all Duffy's past lives are accessible by Tantalus, the bard is for all intent and purpose deceased.
I am all the people you knew over the years. I am all the people you have yet to meet. I am Duffy Brandybuck. I am Duffy Bracken, Monkeyman, Defoe, and Lysander. I am every facet of the former self, fragmented no longer, rebound in this form hitherto unseen for five centuries and more. You may call me Tantalus, if you wish. You may call me Tantalum. If it helps the grief, Duffy will suffice, though he is only a memory, buried beneath a thousand others like him.
The Thayne were born of the Tap, or some say they gave birth to the Tap: grandiose drivel. It matters not. All I know, and all you need to be aware of, is that I represent creativity and dramaturgy. The island of Scara Brae’s collective imagination is my providence, and my heart beats to a rhythm limited only by the people’s fear of war. I am sorry that I was not here to protect them. I am sorry that I allowed a villain like Oblivion to gain the upper hand over the gods themselves, as every mortal errs and dreams. We shall put that right.
Since I was able to regain the strength to gain a prescient form, the troupe has found itself at an apex. They must chose to stand with the broken allies it once called friends; Knights, martyrs, and compatriots. They may also turn their backs on them altogether, and focus attentions to Chronicle. I have given them the one thing they have fought so hard for all these years: freedom to choose. What they do now is of no concern to me. Once Oblivion is dead, and Scara Brae is free from his tyranny, if not his memory entire, we shall part ways.
The greater question now, is what does a god do without a temple? What do the Thayne, who dwell in silence as the world falls to ruin, have left to aspire? Our days numbered; Denebriel’s fall evidence of that. Old Gods awaken, a blessing unspoken for the people of the world. Lands heal, as in Raiaera, and lands rebuild, as in Corone. However, when the people continue in your honour without knowing your name, for I have been sleeping too long…what then? What now? Who shall I be, god, demon, or die in the limelight every foolhardy bard is destined to meet at the end of a quill flick and lack of applause?

At will, he may create humanoid simulacrum (an entire phantasmal cast if needs be), and poly-morph self into any other individual presently on the island. He cannot, however, ever leave it.
Equipment:
Any items belonging to Duffy Brandybuck upon his death have been left, to the members of the troupe. These will be placed in the appropriate profiles and discussed with the Realm of Greeting Staff when they next level up. Tantalus may, however, create illusions of any previously owned items, which are magical steel versions without their abilities.
