Faaria Eshel
03-22-14, 09:45 AM
Name: Faaria Eshel
Age: 16
Sex: Female
Race: Fallien
Height: 5'2
Weight: 107lbs
Hair Colour: Coal Black
Eye Colour: Ice Blue
Skin Colour: Caramel
Appearance: Like most Falleni, Faaria is slight of stature and small of size, unlike the majority of them though, she has also suffered from malnutrition for a few years of her life and as such it has hampered her growing stages. She is skinny to say the least. Though her and and the group she is with tries her best to keep themselves well fed, there is often not enough food to go around. She doesn't have much in the way of curves. Perhaps should her position in life improve, she may grow some, but at the moment, wearing the right clothes, Faaria could very easily pass for a teenage boy should she want to.
As if to compound this, her skin is not as bright and luminous due to her poor diet and it is marred by many scars, most of which she can no longer even remember how she received. Her hair is long and lank and falls just passed her shoulders, though sFaaria normally ties it up in some way. Her eyes are the most intriguing feature she has. Not many Falleni have bright coloured eyes as she does, but they are the colour of the deepest, coldest ice that lies in Berevar.
Skills
Knife fighting - she learned knife fighting out of a necessity of being on the street. Her skills are Above Average, but her moves are not the graceful strokes of a properly trained fighter.
Brawling - having Advanced skills with her fists and feet, they are her preferred choice in weapon. She mainly learned this through trial and error and some more recent training from her friends, who decided she needed to be able to protect herself better.
Pickpocket - she learned early on that turning tricks and the gold she received from John's was not going to be enough to support her, so she also became good at slipping things out of people's pockets. She's Advanced in the art of pickpocketing.
Stealth – having spent half of her life trying to sneak around people, Faaria has learned a few tricks when it comes to being stealthy and quiet. She's currently Above Average in this skill.
Chameleon – another skill she's picked up is one that allows her to blend in. With the right clothes, some make-up, or perhaps just some dirt smudged on her face, Faaria can dramatically change how she looks, and with her slim frame, even her sex. Above Average.
Seduction – She may not have much in terms of curves, but Faaria is considered an exotic woman, and she knows how to use that to her advantage. By no means an expert, she can still hold a man's attention, when she wants it. Above Average.
First Aid – When she had no one but herself to rely upon, Faaria quickly learned how to tend her own wounds. On top of that, she's also had practice on several of the members of their little group. Advanced.
Abilities
None.
History - For the first few years of Faaria's life, she had what some people would consider normal, perhaps even boring, existence. She was born in Fallien, though she barely remembers the desert nation beyond the sand and heat and the bright colours that everyone wore. When she was young, though she does not know how young, their father decided to move them from Fallien to Corone.
During the long, sea voyage, her mother grew sick and feverish. She remembered the wracking coughs the most. The way it sounded like her chest rattled whenever she breathed and heat of her skin. When they landed in Radasanth, they sought help, but nothing seemed to work. Faaria has no idea how long her mother lingered for, but eventually she passed away. The silence of that morning, with no coughing, still haunted her. She remembers that silence better than what her mother looked like. All she has is a vague impression of a woman, a silhouette with beautiful eyes the colour of the sea.
Years passed at that point. Her father raised her as well as a man could, when he spent most of his time away on business, with whatever trading company would hire him. She spent her days in school, learning to read and write, how to do math and the history of Corone itself, not that she remembered much of it.
When she turned ten her father passed away on one of the expeditions. They didn't tell her much, wouldn't tell her much, only that he had died. The men who came to tell her gave her his personal affects and then left as quickly as they came. No one asked her if she had any other family, if she was going to be okay or what she was going to do. No one wanted to deal with a ten year old now completely on their own. Though her father had worked hard, they never had much money. Faaria was only able to stay two months in the home they rented, then the landlord kicked her out onto the streets of Radasanth.
The streets proved far harsher than any ten year old could imagine.
She scrounged for scraps thrown out by restaurants or the garbage the regular citizens tossed out onto the street. When that proved insufficient, Faaria started selling herself to earn money to buy food. It was not the first thing she tried to sell, no ten year old would, but it was the eventuality of her situation. Even that barely gave her enough to survive, and more often or not, put her in a dangerous situation.
Nearly a year went by like that, until a stranger took pity upon her. A man in no better a situation than her own.
He offered her a different life, perhaps not a better one, but a different one. Faaria willingly left her hovel behind. They stayed in Radasanth trying to make a living as best they could. Months stretched into years. They stayed together, forming a sort of family among the group, each trying to bring in money and pull their own weight. Currently they live at an Inn, it's not a nice one, nor is it one of the worst. She sleeps with the Innkeeper once or twice a week, to help keep their rent down, while Quentin fights in The Citadel to provide them with money. It's not much of a life, nor a great one, but it's all she has right now.
