(OOC)
how much is it to strengthen Gavner's teeth and nails to be as strong as steel, to cut through iron and gouge steel?
Gavner gazed out the window of the hut into the frigid, desolate, and barren horizon. This was a very strange village of vampires he had come by while wandering the outlands. Some call this area Siberia, others call it the barren lands, but one thing is for sure; normal humans could not survive in these conditions. Gavner heard a scratching behind him and turned to see gramps (a very friendly, old vampire that had welcomed him warmly when he had come across the village) in a chair slicing his fingernails through a bar of solid iron. The half gramps was cutting off fell to the cold dirt ground with a thud.
Gavner stared at gramps in disbelif, and a thin smile crossed gramps's face. Still looking at Gavner he raised the bar he was still holding to his mouth and, to Gavner's disbelief, bit clean through the iron bar! Gavner gazed at gramps in wonder and walked over to the bar that gramps had dropped. "How can you do that gramps? My fingernails and teeth will only gouge iron." Gavner picked up the iron bar and ran his fingernail over the iron bar as hard as he could. Gavner created a gouge in the iron bar, about a half an inch deep, and curly shaving of iron peeled out under his nail, but Gavner certainly did not cut through the bar. "See?" he asked, thrusting the bar out for gramps to see (as if he needed proof).
"So young, and so much to learn," gramps mumbled. Looking up at gavner from his chair he grinned and said in his elderly voice, "It is a secret known to vampires for the last seven centuries. While roaming the outlands, one might come across a special herb. When this herb is stewed with several ingredients and boiled down to a mouthful of liquid, it creates a potion that will strengthen a vampire's nails and teeth to that equivalent to steel. Able to gouge steel, and cut through anything softer."
Gavner said the very first thing that came to his mind, which was "Where can I find this potion, already concocted?"
Gramps looked at Gavner, his expression unreadable. He studied him for a moment and said "You can make this potion manually, but if you have not the time I happen to have a vial of it on hand. Clearly it is not doing me any good, I suppose I might be willing to part with this potion..... For a price"
Gavner thought this over. He knew gramps was not going to give this away for free, and he knew that the strength of tooth and nail would come in handy later, so he took a deep breath and said "All right gramps, name your price"
