Walking through the small village Gavner noticed an overpowering smell of blood and dead fish. Not even walking to the edge of the town, he could already tell that this was the hometown of sailors. Gavner was getting hungry, and it was already five thirteen in the morning. The sun would be up in exactly one hour and twenty two minutes, and he was running out of time. Gavner would have to feed this morning or else he might not be able to feed tomorrow without making the person feel drained. Thats how vampires work, drink a little here, a little there, from a different person every time. Vampires werent the vicious creatures who sucked people dry that everybody thought they were. They never intend to harm humans they feed off of, such as that is against the laws of the clan.

Walking through an alley Gavner caught sight of a sailor coming out of a larger building counting a wad of cash with a skip in his step that most people lacked. This young man probably had a lucky night gambling, and was heading back to his ship. Gavner preferred good blood of a strong person, because that would in turn give him energy and make him in a better mood than he would normally be in. He crept up behind the sailor and used a pressure point on him from behind. Gavner caught him as he fell limp and unconscious, and gently lay him on the ground. Gavner created a small cut in the man's arm with his fingernail and tested his blood. The man did not have that strong of a moral character, as he had a big gambling problem, but he was strong working in the crew of a merchant ship. He feared death and baked potatoes but he loved pickled onions. When Gavner had drank the amount he needed (less than a pint of blood) he was going to pull away but out of the corner of his eye he saw a figure. He froze where he was, and the figure remained still. Pulling away from the sailor he got up and ran down the alley.

This wasnt the first time he was seen while feeding, and it certainly was not going to be the last. Like all other times, Gavner was just going to have to run for a good five minutes and the person would lose interest and leave him be. But as Gavner ran and sharply turned corners and twisted through the maze of roads and buildings the person did not stop pursuing him. Gavner ran to the edge of the town to the docks and spun around, facing his attacker. His plan was fight and flight. Gavner would engage for a few minutes, and then take off again. He would repeat this process until he escaped, perished, or was victorious.

Seeing his attacker running towards him, Gavner took a defensive stance and said in a taunting voice loud enough for the other person to hear, "Come on pretty boy, show me what you're made of"

"What a disgusting place." Ioder thought as he walked down the nasty streets of the harbor town. The smell of dead fish had begun to irritate his nose making him rather disgusted with this village. Ioder had been walking the streets in looks for any hardy men he could try to coheres into aligning themselves to him. For this he had taken the form of a salty looking sailor, hoping to blend completely into the few people up at this time of night.

As his initial search seemed to be failing to show any progress, Ioder had begun to debate weather to leave or stay the night in one of the taverns. Deciding that the smell of the town was too strong for him he had started to leave. Only after a few brief steps did he find something worth his while, down an alley way he noticed that a man exiting a bar had been flashing a wad of money. " Interesting, he might be useful." He thought as he turned and started to approach the man. The second he stepped a single foot into the alley something amazing happened, a black blur swooped in and incapacitated the man. Ioder, as his curious nature demanded, had to stay back and watch to see what had happened next. Much to his own amazement the blur revealed itself to be a full fledged creature of the night, a vampire.

As quickly as it had happened the creature noticed him and out of instinct must have began to flee. Assuming he had noticed him standing in the alley way Ioder fallowed suit and chased after this creature. Though as he himself couldn't navigate as well as he assumed the vampire could he had no real confidence in catching up to him. But after a few short minuets of intense running he indeed did corner the creature near the water at the edge of town.

Standing face to face with this thing that haunts many peoples nightmares, this being of pure darkness. The two stood roughly twenty feet apart both in slightly aggressive posses. The only thoughts flowing threw Ioder's mind were of possibly speaking to this creature and to see what it was capable of doing in a fight. So naturally and confidently he hunched over and began to run towards the vampire, releasing his Seraphim Glimmer as he ran. As he moved he also reverted form into one of his normal pretty faced aliases, this combined with his glimmer made his appearance magnificent and flashy.

Drawing nearer to the vampire Ioder heard the beast speak out "Come on pretty boy." this flinging him into a small fit of anger. Though it is true he did enjoy to make his appearance flattering and fashionable he at his core was a being of power and was not to be talked to this way. Only a few feet away Ioder lunged himself forward, twisting his body with his leg help out to roundhouse kick the vampire in the chest. This in hopes to push him a distance and force the vampire into a counter attack.

As the person was rushing toward Gavner, he was watching his face. But as he had his eyes trained on it, its very form began to change. It turned from a sailor, to a big blur of shimmering light. The creature ran along at human sprinting speed as a streak of light, and when Gavner said his taunt, the attacker's face -which had just become visible- twisted with anger. Gavner was very happy when he saw this, as he knew that this was a weakness. Gavner always loved to put puffed up pompous pampered pansies in their place, as it was part of his job. But Gavner knew that pompous and puffed up this creature may be, it was not a pansy. It launched an extremely powerful kick with perfect form and cunning speed directly at Gavner, with such a speed that was unavoidable.

For a human that is. Gavner saw this attack coming from a mile away, and with his speed being twice that of a human's he narrowly dodged the attack and assumed his defensive stance. Seizing his opportunity to enfuriate his opponent even more he launched another taunt, "That's all you got? All that flashy pretty stuff and you have a slow measly kick for me?" Gavner saw that his attacker was now enraged with him yet he pressed on "If you want to best a creature of the night you will have to put your pompous pride behind you and fight like a true warrior." Gavner knew that none of this was true, and that his opponent was more than capable of sending him to the grave, but he was testing his limits. "Why don't you put some of that glitter to use and sprinkle it in little girls' hair. At least you will be a hero among somebody!" Gavner saw true fury in the creature's eyes and he knew that he had crossed the line. There was no turning back from here, and just to anger his opponent even more he turned and ran up a ramp onto an elevated stone platform above all the roofs and started to run and leapt from the rooftop of house to house with his pursuer hot on his tail.

The taunts he had been slinging at Ioder had indeed infuriated the seraphim, in fact he had been insulting one of the only tings that Ioder truly cares about. His appearance was everything to him, he thought himself better than everyone and his graceful beauty was a way he showed it. The with ought warning the vampire had begun to run away from Ioder again. Leaving the seraphim to believe that this creature either feared him or his time was running out, as the sun would be due to rise in only a short time.

"Where are you running to you primitive creature? Your time is almost up here and ill make sure you pay for those words." Ioder yelled ahead in his elegant voice as he continued to pursue his target. " Where are you going? Off to suck some more blood, or maybe off to hang upside down like the fruit bat you are?"

These word must have gotten to him as the vampire looked back, out of pride of his species or just to keep an eye on he pursuer, but in that split second he didn't realize a large shingle missing from the roof he was running on. As he ran his foot got caught in this gap and caused him to fall forward, allowing Ioder to close the gap and attempt to push the vampire one more time. Ioder once again caught the air aiming to put his hand right into the vampire's chest. This time instead of his glimmer fallowing him it was wrapped around his arm, making his hand stronger and able to pierce iron. As the vampire tried to get back to his feet Ioder hand came down like a flash of lightning.

His hand made contact but not with the vampire, instead Ioder's hand pierced the shingles of the roof. His hand still stuck in the roof leaving his hind side venerable. "How did he dodge my attack? Is he really this fast, I could definitely use his speed when the time comes." His mind raced while he thrashed about attempting to free his hand from the roof. It seemed that even when he was caught off guard, the vampire is still too quick for his attacks to hit properly. Not even giving effort the second before Ioder's strike would have impaled him the vampire simply rolled out of the way and was now standing behind the thrashing seraphim.

"Your quick," Ioder complimented the vampire, as he knew that he was just watching him struggle. "Have you figured out what I am yet?" Sure that he had not, his abilities thus far had been unique but not specific enough to give away his identity yet. Feeling like he needed a distraction he decided to show the monster what he was, and with a blinding glow four beautiful white feathered wings began to reveal them selves sprouting out of Ioder's back. When each fully appeared Ioder flexed them all straight showing they were about seven feet long in length, then let them fall to rest draping around him like a coat. This display had given him enough time to free himself and stand up to face the vampire, legend to legend.

Gavner was leaping from rooftop to rooftop, toying with his pursuer. He didnt know what they wanted from him, but Gavner wanted to see what he was made of before finding out. Leaping to another rooftop he heard the creature on his tail say in his pretty-boy-voice, "Where are you going? Off to suck some more blood, or maybe off to hang upside down like the fruit bat you are?" Clearly this creature was like all the rest and believed all of that fairy tail bullcrap about vampires. He turned his head to smile but as he did the place where he had just set his foot gave out. Stumbling to catch his balance he noticed that the creature had lunged at him with a punch, but not just a normal punch, this time he had used his special sparkly stuff. Gavner knew that his attacker now meant business, and that sparkly stuff wasnt just for decoration. He dodged the attack and popped up behind the creature. Gavner's attacker had missed and his hand was now lodged deep in the roof. "You're quick" he said. "have you figured out what I am yet?" The creature's back glowed with a bright white light and four wings were revealed. This could only be the body of one creature; a Seraphim. Gavner had heard legends of them at the vampire councils, but no vampire had ever lain eyes upon one before. These were creatures of raw power, not so much of strength or speed but more so that of their abilities. Often the vampires had reminisced about battles between Seraphim and vampires, supernatural strength and speed against supernatural piercing and defense and Seraphim glimmer, but none necessarily took them seriously. The Seraphim was now free of the roof, which Gavner noticed immediately. He tilted his head, struck a pose, and wrapped his wings around him like a coat. Gavner stared into his eyes and squinted in disgust. This creature had displayed an attitude riddled with vanity and self pride, as if the whole world revolved around him. Gavner knew what he was going to do, and if this worked out correctly he would have his chance not to witness, but to live, the Clash of the Supernatural.

Gavner slowly walked closer to the Seraphim, closing the distance between them from 5 feet, to 3 feet, to 1 foot. The Seraphim had unwrapped himself and was standing up straight and attentively staring at Gavner. Gavner still continued closer and closer until Gavner was less than an inch from the Seraphim, angrily staring into his eyes. "I know what you are" Gavner hissed, the smell of blood in his breath, "you are a pretty boy." and with that Gavner turned and began to walk away. He did not need to run, because he was not fleeing, and he was not trying to taunt his opponent any more. The sun had now risen, and was burning Gavner's pale skin, but Gavner did not worry about that either. He had all the time in the world. Gavner was walking slowly but he was listening extremely intently. If the Seraphim had taken the bait, he would have to listen keener than ever. Then he heard what he was listening for, the creaking of weight shifting on the roof. He heard the pivot of the planted foot, and the swish of the lead foot leaving the roof, and ducked spinning around. Gavner turned around to see the shocked Seraphim caught vulnerable in a round kick with his foot high over Gavner's ducked head. If Gavner wouldnt have ducked the Seraphim would have made contact with his head and kicked him off the roof, but Gavner was too smart for that. Utilizing the full extent of his supernatural speed Gavner sprang up and grabbed his attacker's foot, twisted it around and threw it towards the ground spinning the creature around on his belly sprawled out on the ground. With a mighty push of his legs Gavner leapt over the Seraphim completely and landed five feet away from him, complete opposite the side he was just standing, hoping to disorient the creature. The creature scrambled to his feet and faced Gavner. Both of the creatures froze and stared at each other. This was it, the face off. The show down between the brute force of the creatures of the night, and the beauty and divinity of the beings of light. Legend against legend, about to clash head on head in a furious battle. Gavner's lips curled back baring his black teeth in a snarl, Ioder squinted his eyes and clenched his fists, each preparing themselves for the fight of their life. And just like that, the battle had begun...

Both creatures attacked at the same time, but Gavner had the reaction for the attack. The Seraphim extended his hand with the speed of an extremely skilled and trained being, but it was no match for Gavner's speed. Unable to block the blow he ducked and came up at the Seraphim's side and thrust his elbow back at the creature's head. The Seraphim ducked just in time and sent a punch at Gavner's face. Gavner brought his head back avoiding the punch and thrust his knee up into the the Seraphim's chest, pushing him a few feet away and setting him off balance. Quickly regaining his stance the Seraphim launched a roundhouse kick that contacted with Gavner's shoulder, pushing him further away and lightly bruising his arm. Lunging at the seraphim Gavner took hold of both his shoulders and pinned him to the roof. The seraphim was clearly in a tight spot, but with a furious yell he headbutted Gavner. Gavner hissed as his head throbbed and the sun burned him, now turning his skin into a light shade of pink. Grabbing the Seraphim's head and jerking it sideways to reveal his soft unprotected neck, Gavner bared his teeth and prepared to sink them deep into a Seraphim, but just before he did the Seraphim said something that caught Gavner's attention.

"You don't get it do you?" Ioder spoke out, his words stunning the vampire leaving him venerable. The seraphim took this opportunity and brought his foot up to the vampire's chest and kicked him completely off on him. The vampire's skin was starting to smoke slightly as he stood up and once again began his attacking. Not allowing the seraphim to gain any ground the vampire re-closed the gap between them, and using his swiftness to launch a succession of deadly strikes. His hands moving almost to fact for the seraphim to keep up with, his sharp nails tearing Ioder's cloths as he tried to parry his attacks. Knowing he would have to make some distance between them Ioder dropped down and with a quick kick swept the vampire's feet from beneath him. Them Ioder processed to launch himself backwards to the edge of the roof.

The two not seeming to be able to get any ground in this little skirmish, but this wasn't going to stop the vampire's pride as he once again rushed in. The vampire threw out his arm with amazing force, a strike that would easily kill any regular human but the seraphim was smart. He instead threw his hands up and caught the vampires hand, his nails cutting up the seraphim's palm and forcing him off the roof and down to the alley below. Just before he hit the ground he extended two of his wings to catch a little air to soften his landing. But the second he landed he immediately looked up to see that the vampire had still not let up his assault, instead he had too dropped off the roof and was aiming his entire weight and force at the seraphim. With virtually no time the seraphim released his glimmer and formed a bright and glimmering wall between the two legendary creatures. The wall absorbed the impact of the vampire's attack and finally made an opening for an attack.

" Aren't you tired of this mindless nonsense?" Ioder cried out and he jumped up, commenced a front flip and brought his leg down on the vampires back. Making him fly down into the ground causing a small human shaped indent in the alley. " You are very strong but we are not truly enemies." his voice directed the possibly unconscious vampire.

Water vapor was evaporating out of Gavner's skin, giving it the appearance of smoke rising off of his skin. Gavner knew that he still had hours in the sun before he would die, but when all of the water evaporated from his skin it would start to burn extremely badly and turn redder than a beet. Laying on the ground Gavner pretended to be injured. This creature was a strong fighter, but not strong enough to take down a legend. Granted both of them were legends, supernatural creatures who roamed the earth, but they were like night and day. This Seraphim was not going to leave so long as Gavner drew breath. Rolling onto his back, he realized that he now had bad bruising on his back and he instantly boiled with rage. No pompous pretty boy was going to bruise a creature of the night, so he rolled back into his shoulders with his legs above his head in fetal position and launched himself at the seraphim with all of his might. His powerful legs contacted with the Seraphim's chest, and he kicked with everything he had. The force of the blow sent the creature through the air at breakneck speed, and would have seriously injured him if Gavner had taken a split second to aim better. But he didn't, and the creature flew into the luckiest spot for him, but the most unluckiest spot for Gavner; a wooden door. Had he hit the nice hard stone wall, the Seraphim would have surely been knocked unconsciouss, or maybe even broken a bone or two, but he flew through the door, splintering it into a thousand chunks and little pieces of wood and landing inside the building where Gavner couldnt see, but Gavner heard the splintering of more wood he assumed to be tables and chairs. Gavner had landed on his back again after his attack, and making it to his feet he realized his injuries were a lot worse than bruises. He was badly bruised and he couldnt stand up straight or walk properly. He walked into the doorway and saw the Seraphim laying in a mess of rubble and destroyed wood, wincing in pain. Gavner walked over him, having barely enough strength to finish off the creature, but something stopped him. Maybe it was because Gavner did not like the idea of killing a legend. Maybe he didnt want to be the monster that the Seraphim thought he was, or maybe it was the look of resignation in his eyes before he closed them and waited to be smote. Gavner stopped and said the first thing that came to his mind "Are you dead yet pretty boy?"

The Seraphim opened his eyes and looked at Gavner confusedly. Gavner could tell that he was hurt, and the Seraphim could tell that Gavner was hurt, but the Seraphim reached behind his back. Gavner didnt care at this point if the creature was going to attack him or not, he would just disappear, but the Seraphim had just as much intention of attacking Gavner as Gavner had of attacking the Seraphim. He pulled out a long slender nail and said "As dead as a doornail," and the both of them burst out in a violent fit of laughter.

They laughed for about a minute, but the laughter did not subside. In fact, the two of them began to laugh more and more intensely the more time went by. Gavner had bent down with his hands on his knees, and the Seraphim was rolling around in the rubble and chunks of the wood. Gavner fell to the ground as well, and both legends were now rolling around and pounding the wooden floor with their fists, tears streaming down their faces from the intensity of their laughter. Gavner didnt know why this was so funny, but he laughed hard for well over ten minutes with the creature which was just his enemy less than an hour ago. When their laughter subsided to frequent chuckles they sat up, clutching the stitches in their sides. They both looked at each other for less than 5 seconds, then burst out laughing again. After about five minutes, Gavner forced himself to his feet and offered the creature his hand to help the Seraphim up, and said "I believe I haven't introduced myself. I am Gavner, Gavner Nahs. Would you care to visit a tavern and talk, legend to legend?"

Ioder
04-05-14, 08:18 PM
The two continued laughing for quite a few more minuets after the vampire introduced himself as Gavner Nahs. The laughter stemmed more so from the two getting a good opportunity for exert some built up energy in ways only legends know how. Neither one held and anger or animosity towards each other, in fact more than that they had mutual respect for one another. The dark creature of the night and the glimmering angel of the day, both laughing like friends with one another. Only did the chuckles stop again after Ioder leaned up and sat against a wall he had been laying next to, and reply "Its a pleasant to make your acquaintance, Sir Gavner Nahs, of the Vampire." His voice carried a certain somber appreciation with it.

"You punch hard." Ioder added as he grabbed his shoulder and began to rotate it, trying to indulge the vampire. Then the seraphim stood up, brushing the rubble from his wings and offered Gavner a hand in getting up, even if it was unnecessary. But it was a sign of respect and knowing this Gavner accepted the and stood up. "My name is Ioder, If you hadn't put it together yet I am a Seraphim." Ioder said wile still clutching the vampire's hand, "And yes, Gavner I wouldn't think it right to refuse such a delightful offer as that." A slight smile came across the angel's face when he say the vampire's happiness that he had agreed. Then both of the tired men walked out the hole in the wall they had created.

They didn't chit chat much until they had reached the busy tavern, busy for this early in the morning. A few incredibly drunk sailors or local workers that were still merrymaking from last night, and some young ladies trying to entertain or entice them scattered though the room. Both the angel and vampire sat far of in the corner where no one would see recognize them easily as different. But as a safety Ioder had once again changed his for to resemble a greasy hardy sailor type, and Gavner had dawned a hood to cover his vampire appearance. A woman had come over to offer some company but neither of the men had given her any reason to stay as they were still slightly uneasy with each other, legends meeting it wasn't unexpected to still be tense.

"So your an angel, what are you doing in a place like this?" Gavner said breaking the ice, his tone was quite as not to attract anybody's unwanted ears.

"Yes, my friend. And I was doing the same as you I suspect, looking for a good bit to eat." Ioder replied in a joking manner. " In truth I am here wanting to build an army. Looking for good strong men. " His voice hardens and his tone grows more serious.

"Oh an army, what for?" The vampire retorted quickly.

" Maybe you will see one day, but not today im afraid." Ioder quickly shut Gavner down not for his lack of talent and obvious curiosity with the subject but as the seraphim had not yet truly decided on how to achieve his goal. "But what I can tell you is that one day, one day I will change this world for the better." The two continued to mutter between themselves for a wile longer, nothing serious just friendly banter. Both realizing they were very similar in character wile still being the farthest apart. The woman then cam back with a few cups of ale each, it was turning out to be a fun morning for them both.

matthewkuch
04-08-14, 10:05 AM
When the woman brought over the cups of ale, Gavner took it as a challenge to see how much the seraphim could handle. Vampires had a very high metabolism for alcohol, as they had to drink almost a barrel of ale before getting tipsy, but he didnt know anything about the metabolism of the seraphim. After several cups, neither the seraphim nor the vampire seemed to be yielding to the effects of the alcohol or the particularly attractive human woman that was hanging around Gavner and Ioder, Ioder said "You can hold your liquor well, but how well can you hold your composure?" turning to the woman who had just returned with more ale he asked for a deck of cards, which she pulled out without hesitation as if this was a common thing.

"Hold on," Gavner said addressing the woman "what is your name?" the woman looked taken completely by surprise.

"My name is Sarah. To whom do I owe the pleasure?" she replied in a hesitant voice

"Gavner Nahs, and the pleasure is mine" Gavner replied. "I have noticed that you have been extremely generous tonight, why might this be?"

She hesitated and looked at the hooded figure she had no idea was anything more than a man with a hood. Staring at him closely she saw his crop of red hair and her eyes darted to his red eyes, then his fingertips and her eyes lit up. "I have noticed that you two have never been here before, I like to welcome our newcomers." she said, but oddly after that she excused herself and hurried off somewhere deep in the tavern.

Ioder started to deal out the cards into a poker game, but Gavner did not have anything to bet with save empty cups of ale and human paper currency; practically worthless. As Gavner drew breath to explain this to Ioder it was as if he had read Gavner's mind. Before Gavner could say anything Ioder said in a low voice "We will not be betting with normal currency."

"Well what will we be betting with?" Gavner said knowing he didnt have anything else.

"Knowledge" Ioder said in a soft voice and Gavner froze. He was still tense and not sure if he could completely trust this character, but after contemplating it he nodded in agreement to the seraphim's terms.

Ioder started the betting out heavy with his past history. Gavner did not like waging so much but having no other option he called. Ioder raised to answering any questions the other had and finally what the both of them were truly interested in; information about the others' race. By the end Gavner had a royal flush, so he went all in. A smile flickered across Ioder's face, the first time his composure had broken the entire hand, and he called. The hand turned out to be a true one in a million card game, as both of the legends had royal flushes; Gavner's black and Ioder's red. Both of them sat back in shock. They hadnt discussed a tie, because that did not happen. Neither wanted to play another game, so Gavner said what they were both thinking, "I guess we both have to tell each other our story."

They exchanged a look and Ioder said the next thing that came to their minds. "Who first?" They sat back in silence for several minutes, until Gavner finally stirred. Reaching into his cloak he pulled out the coin that his mentor, Fintin, had given him when he blooded him. On one side it had Thaddeous Nourveg, one of the first vampire princes, and on the other side it had vampire mountain, the stronghold of the vampires.

"Tooth or stone?" Gavner asked.

Ioder looked confused for a moment, but after a moment he said "stone" and Gavner flipped the coin high in the air. It landed on the table and bounced onto its side. It rolled most of the length of the table but ran over a gouge and fell onto its side at the edge of the table. Both looking to see what it had landed on, Ioder cheered and Gavner groaned to find that it had landed on vampire mountain. "Alright" Gavner said lowering his voice careful to not be overheard and replacing the coin in his cloak "where to start."
"Growing up I came from a wealthy family, but I was always bored. One day I ran into a vampire in a graveyard when I was 14, and he explained the ways of the vampires to me. Before we parted ways he asked me if I wanted to become one, and I liked the sound of the lifestyle. Fintin blooded me then and there and took me in as his apprentice."

"What do you mean 'blooded'?" Ioder asked.

Gavner held up his hands showing Ioder his fingertips. Ioder looked at Gavner puzzled at first, then his interest perked up when he noticed that there was a scar on each of the fleshy parts of Gavner's fingertips. "All vampires are barren, so the only way for a creature to become a vampire, or a part vampire is through a process called blooding.
"The vampire cuts the fingertips of themselves and the person they are blooding with their fingernails and then they place their fingertips together. The blood from the human and vampire flow into each other and the when the transfusion is complete the person is a vampire."

Ioder nodded and Gavner continued, "The easiest way to tell if a creature is a vampire is by their fingertips. Yes they have pale skin, black teeth, and darker nails, but when you think about it any joe schmoe could have those qualities."

"I never knew that. But what about turning into a bat and hissing at the sun? Can only wooden stakes kill you?" Ioder asked

"You shouldn't believe in everything you hear Ioder, you never know how much is true. Vampires can not turn into bats, and we do not hiss. We are creatures of the night, we do not belong in the day so the sun will hurt us. After about a half an hour to 45 minutes we will start to get burned very badly, after an hour our skin is like leather and after 4 hours we will die. As for wooden stakes well... A wooden stake would kill anyone. Vampires can die from almost anything a human can, but we are just harder to kill. We can drown, be run through, lose too much blood, die of infection, disease, you name it."

"So everything is just myths... Except for sucking blood and eating people?" Ioder asked, trying to hide his curiosity.

Gavner smiled. This was the one thing that everybody wanted to know, and Gavner could see that Ioder was tense. "Don't worry Ioder, humans are just as appetizing to us as they are to you. Vampires are not allowed to kill people, such is against our law. We do not suck people dry unless they are already dead that is, and if we do suck anybody dry we are persecuted by the clan."

"Clan?" Ioder asked

"The clan of vampires is composed of three parts mainly. The regulars, citizens you could say. They dont make big decisions or enforce laws, but they mainly follow the laws. They are a minor part in the clan. Then there are the generals, who enforce the laws of the vampires and keep everything in line. Lastly there are the princes. The princes are highest in the land, elected by the clan. Whatever they say goes. There are few princes in the clan currently 4, they hold the highest honor and usually are the hardest on themselves. I usually take my orders from the princes, but rarely do they give them to me personally."

"So you are a...." Ioder started still taking in what Gavner said

"A general. I will explain more in time, as we will be aquainted for some time I assume. But what about you? How have you come to be?"

Ioder
04-16-14, 04:58 PM
Gavner's question had sort of taken Ioder back far a second before he realized that this was indeed another supernatural being not just another peace of human scum with a superiority complex. Ioder had a deep resentment to humans for what they had did to him in life. A large and powerful army of humans had many may years ago created a genocide of Ioder's people, one that had taken his young life in the process.

"How have I come to be you say, that is a story I have not told in a long wile." Ioder says to the vampire siting next to him.

"Really, are you not proud of your tale?" Gavner asked rather puzzled by Ioders answer.

"Sir Gavner, you are a proud creature indeed but mine is not a story of valor or happiness. Mine is a story of many tears and pointless death." Ioder's tone of voice turns solemn and sincere. "My story begins centuries ago, before recorded history. No tomes will be found on my previous existence and those who existed for me. I was not simply born a seraphim rather I was reborn though tough times and prayers of my people for a savior. As for who is was before I had been reborn, I have not recollection of those times only the faint memory of screams and pain."

Ioder's vision drifts off into the mug of ale he hadn't touched, he grabs it and takes a large swig and swallows the large gulp. His face displays a mix of powerful emotions and even the lack of emotion at the same time. "My people were all slaughtered..." His voice trails off, he hadn't pulled up these feeling for a long wile.

"Slaughtered? By whom?" Gavner inquired seemingly intrigued by this fact that had alluded recorded history.

Ioder felt it wasn't time yet to tell his new friend everything, so he gave Gavner a simple "I don't know," hopeing that the vampire would buy it. "But through the prayers and suffering of my people I transcended into a seraphim, delivering a quick death to the clan that had killed my brothers and sisters." Gavner felt the wave of emotion from Ioder and remained silent for him to finish, even the vampire felt his sorrow. "For only through great pain can a seraphim be born into this world."

"You make yourself sound as if you are a god, though you have displayed little power." Gavner mentioned referring to their skirmish earlier. "Granted you didn't die, but I was not as impressed as I should be fighting a seraphim. Am I wrong?"

"Mock me if you wish, through out my long existence I had lost the will to fight and thus lost all my power along with it. For most of my second life I had simply wandered the world looking for interesting things, places, people that could amuse me. But after many years I have found a reason to fight again, one that requires much work to achieve victory." Ioder had now begun to speak about his plans for the future and what he had hoped he could accomplish. "Gavner, as a vampire you are a member of an ancient race one that has power that few posses and many lust for. I included wish to use your power, if and when the time comes ill call upon you to fight against the cruelty of this world. Whether you answer the call is up to you my friend but if you do you will be showered in all the riches you could ever desire and posses more power than even you can comprehend." Ioder continued his rambling for quit some time longer, mostly just to hear himself speak, and the two continued to drink happily away.

They had both stayed in the tavern for longer than they thought able and both become slightly inebriated, making it a tough place for others to be. Not that they were falling on the ground drunk, but with them being of a different race they were very clumsy with their powers, Gavner slicing through stuff with his long and shard finger nails and Ioder rapidly changing his face to freak others out. The two were having so much fun that it was already night fall again, and time for the two to depart.

"So long Sir Gavner the Night walker, I will be seeing you soon I feel." Ioder says as the parted ways at the door of the tavern.

"And I you, Ioder you pretty boy." Gavner answered back as he headed in the opposite direction.

Whether the two would indeed meet again is up to fate and fate alone.
