Despite being a massive pussy, I love horror, and I'm sure more than a few of you to are of a similar mind, so

What is it that really scares you, creeps you out and gives you the willies? Games or movies or even Creepypastas that stick with you and make you flinch every time you imagine something out the corner of your eye, that make you turn the light on first before entering a dark room, if you even turn them off?

Personally the only movies that get to me are ones like The Ring or Grudge, both original and remake. Or even just Japanese horror in general.

Games, ehhh... not so much. The Penumbra series got to me but that's about it. That and SCP containment breach but that's more jumpy that spine chilling

Speaking of, certain SCP's I find particularly creepy, and a few Creepypastas have lingered with me for a few days, especially some of the readings you find on youtube.

So, how about you lot? Any recommendations?

I am terrified of just about everything. Sei's been playing Outlast and that game has made me scream every two minutes or so the whole way through!

ah, nice! Nothing says scary quite like being hunted buy some big ugly mother fucker and two slightly smaller mother fuckers with their wangs swinging all about.

I'm looking forward to Among the Sleep (http://www.krillbite.com/ats/). Outlast was good for a bit, but quickly devolved into some pretty cheesy shock-horror. Penumbra was certainly eerie, and I think Amnesia took it to the next level.

Some of the best horror writing I've come across is a series of short stories called Pen Pals. There's nothing supernatural about it, but that doesn't work against it in any way (actually just makes it more realistic, although the author does stretch it a bit as it goes on).

Fewdio/Daywalt Horror has some good short horror films. I particularly like Bedfellows (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z6xGU2_g9s). Also, the original 'Mama' short horror film was pretty neat.

And finally, there's this (http://comic.naver.com/webtoon/detail.nhn?titleId=350217&no=31&weekday=tue). That really got me when I read it at 1 in the morning, alone in the house with the lights off.

Not horror per se, but the body-horror scene from the movie Looper stuck with me for months. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had nightmares about that. I can't do body-horror at all.

^This is completely true. He has a completely irrational fear of her.

That's actually what I first thought of when I saw this thread!

@astrid: you mean where they are hurting the past self to make the future one change? I couldn't get over the paradox effect :(

Things that scare me the most in a sort of rage against the inside of a box as it is thrown into the water kind of way, Dolores Umbridge. Followed by the scene in Tee Mist when they have a religious awakening and turn crazy.
