His name is Nijur'kale this is thought to be an alias, but his birth name is unknown. He is an adult humanoid mongrel - his exact age and racial-type are also unknown, though he is thought to be a muddled half-elf. He stands a hair over five feet tall, with long black hair showing streaks of emerald green dye, and golden-green eyes. He weighs perhaps one hundred and thirty pounds; an extremely muscled figure.

Occupation.

Criminal. Killer, specifically; a knife-for-hire. Not anymore, obviously, being imprisoned and under a presumed death sentence.

Personality.

The criminal presents an air of distraction. While he may at times be calm, excited, stoic, enraged, nervous, or depressed, it is rare that he will direct his attention to any one thing. Even when speaking to another person, he will often seem to be interested in something else.

How much of this air is actual is impossible to discern. At the same time, though generally agreed to be insane, Nijur has repeatedly passed himself of as completely normal, and often does so. He may be able to do this at will, though the constabular doctor's official opinion is that it is a resurgent psychopathic condition, and that Nijur's mania waxes and wanes episodically. The doctor is a drunk, however, and may be full of shit.

Appearance.

Nijur is a prisoner, and could be mistaken for nothing else. His build, while still showing muscle, is worn and thin. He is unshaven, his hair matted and unkempt. His chest is bare, and he wears a threadbare pair of filthy woolen trousers, with iron manacles restraining his wrists and ankles. These have obviously been in place for some time, leaving scars on top of scars. His face is lean and angular, hinting at non-human heritage, with a mouth that lends itself to a wide grin. This grinning appearance is enhanced by the scars at the corners of his mouth, obviously left by an attacker. His face bears another scar across the brow, nearly erasing his left eyebrow. His entire body is a cross-hatch of scars, most of them knife-wounds.

Nijur also bears multiple tattoos and brands: a crude skull symbol inked in blue on his chest, a growing sleeve of small rings that covers his right forearm and part of the bicep, five blue tears falling from his right eye, and a thick X recently branded into the left side of his neck – the sign of a captured killer.

Skills.

Hand-to-Hand Combat, Armed & Unarmed (Expert)
Throwing Weapons (Adept)
Lockpicking (Intermediate)
Pickpocketing (Intermediate)
Stealth (Novice)
First Aid (Novice)

Abilities.

Tough as Nails. Nijur has lived his entire life by the skin of his teeth, fighting tooth and nail for every inch. Nijur can shrug off most light wounds (shallow cuts, bruises, scrapes, etc.) with no adverse affects. If the wounds are bleeding, he can still bleed out if not treated properly.

Mixed Blood. Nijur is not human; not entirely. He is much faster than humans. Combined with his experience as a fighter, he is more likely to dodge or block attacks, and can, consequently, attack and counterattack more quickly & potently. (2x human speed.)

Blood High. The sight of blood elicits a curious and deadly reaction from Nijur. Whether his own or that of an enemy, when blood is freshly drawn before his eyes, Nijur enters a state of mania which adds force to his blows. This state lasts through the battle at hand and can only be activated once per battle. (temporary 2x human strength.)

History.

Idealists will sometimes say that the more advanced a society, the greater the benefit to its citizens, imagining that in some roundabout and ambiguous way that some overflow of economic prosperity will quiet the immortal monsters Avarice and Debt, or that a scientific achievement that adds years to life will also magically add life to those years. These idealists would doubtless assert that when these 'advanced' citizens are dying, wealthy and in bed, lives prolonged past the point of any meaning, they will experience some sort of comforting sensation in the knowledge that they have lived a long and 'meaningful' life in contributing to this society.

Only the most obtuse of these idealists, however, would assert that the blessings bestowed by an advanced society fall equally on all those within it. There will always be some on the fringe, unable to reap the full 'benefit' of the culture's glowing warmth. The murderer known as 'Nijur'kale' is one of these 'unfortunates.'

There are two stories of his life. The first is the story told by his criminal record, and begins when a local constabulary in Alerar attempted to arrest him in connection with a murder. He resisted this arrest, violently slaughtering four of the constables, and was only restrained after permanently maiming six more. While being held and awaiting sentencing for these murders, he was confirmed as the perpetrator of the original murder. However, he was also discovered to have a chain of bodies, spanning several years and leading back to the capitol itself. The local magistrate, excited to have captured such bloody criminal, pulled a few strings for his own benefit and arranged for the murderer to be returned to Ettermire, there to be tried, sentenced, and executed for his crimes.

The second story is rumor-born, a whisper carried under the wind that says he was a slumdog of Ettermire. The rippling half-truths bear a taste of legend to the name 'Nijur'kale.' One says that he was orphaned at a young age, others that his parents killed each other, and others that he orphaned himself. The stories say that from there, he became a knifer with a flair for the gruesome and horrific, and built a reputation of favoring female victims – or was it that he preferred to take jobs from women?

As his number of victims grew, Nijur'kale gained enemies. One of the few points on which the stories all agree is that Nijur'kale had no talent for making friends, and that by the time he had left Ettermire, most of the crime syndicates and freelance scum-for-hire had put bounties on the killer's head. Some thought he went into hiding while plotting another killing spree, but most were assured that he had truly left. The rumors almost died then, a mere hint here and there that the murderer had 'gone straight,' and was living normal life in a village somewhere, or had gotten an actual job on a ship, things of that ilk. Then came word that he had been captured, and that he was being returned to the capitol. Jaws slavered, and knives were whetted.

Those are the stories, at least. Where the truth lies, or what it is, is up to you, discerning reader.

Hello there, cutter.

Just a few things I need cleared up.

First off, a 25% dodge chance doesn't really mean anything considering you decide whether or not your enemy's attack hits, so you can just take that out if you want.

Secondly, if you could write out literary equivalents for strength and speed increases on Blood High, that'd be great.

Let me know when you've made these changes.
