Age: 23
Race: Human
Height: 6'1
Weight: 190lbs
Occupation: Exile / Escaped Slave

Personality:

He is often quiet, pragmatic, and suspicious of others (for good reason.) He keeps most at arm's length. That is not to say he is not without manners, as he's polite (in a practiced sort of way.) His words are chosen carefully, and he is not quick to anger or spite. He prefers to calculate, carefully analyzing situations before reacting.

History:

Leslot was born the son of a landed knight, in the rugged lands north of Knife's Edge. His father had a quaint keep, and a tiny hamlet that he ruled over called Overton. Leslot grew up in the saddle, and trained with his father's men-at-arms. He learned swordplay, horsemanship, archery, and to read and write. These skills were specifically to hone him to take his father's place as man of House Drakkei.

Leslot was always eager to prove himself to his father. Shortly after he turned sixteen, a strange crew of mummers, dancers, bards, and burly warriors visited their tiny hamlet on their way north. His father invited them as guests into their keep, happy to have the festiveness they brought. The crew entertained the peasants, enjoyed the lord's bread, mead, and meat. They settled in the main hall, around the crackling hearth.

During the night, the crew pulled out their daggers and crossbows, and the harvest began. His father died, along with the house guard and the men-at-arms that lived within the hamlet. Leslot tried to escape while the burning and looting was going on, but was followed and brought back. Those that surrendered were herded into the small square, by the hamlet's well. Leslot wanted to resist, but his father, shortly before dying, forbid him from taking up arms. Honoring his father's command, shackles were clapped onto his wrists and he was shoved off down the dirty road the rest of the surviving villagers. They were loaded onto a riverboat and ushered downstream to the coast, where a larger vessel carried them to sea.

He wound up in Alerar on the auction block. The mark over his left eye was given to him by his first master, the marks underneath shortly after when he proved to be dangerous and cunning. His master, a Dark Elf sorcerer, enjoyed the task of breaking him, keeping him in the dark and without food as punishments for his crimes. Leslot found himself weakened and helpless, forced to give into his master's will for bread and water. He learned fast that fighting only caused him more suffering, so he accepted his lot and began to accept his life as a slave. He was a personal escort and servant to the sorcerer. He poured wine, ironed clothing, fetched meals, shined boots, and stood at his master's side at all times.

Magic, which was practically outlawed in his native country, awed him. He watched his master perform spells and rituals. It seemed to him that with magic, anything was possible. So, he resolved that one day, if he escaped, he would learn the art himself. His master died in a duel with a rival and Leslot was sold again, this time to a fat human merchant. He traveled with the merchant for many moons, before winding up in Radasanth, at the port. He led his master from a pub, stumbling and bumbling down the crowded avenues. His master lurched into a dark alleyway and Leslot struggled to no avail to get him to his feet. Faced with the choice of sleeping in the rain, or finding a way out, he found an opportunity to resist.

Using his own chain he wrapped it around his master's throat and strangled the life out of him. Later that night, when he stumbled into a blacksmith's shopm he spent his master's good silver to get the chain and collar removed. There he pledged himself to the blacksmith, to work for him as a free man. The blacksmith seemed hesitant, but seeing the desperation in Leslot's eyes, he agreed. He let him stay and earn enough money to set out on his own.

Appearance:

Blue hair, gray eyes, and crimson slave marks make up his appearance. Because of that, he is often seen wearing a hood or mask to cover his features, when out in public. He is thin, with a body made up of lean muscle.

Skills:

Weaponry: This is a broad skill because Leslot has not come to master a single arm. He was trained swords, lances, pole-arms, and axes, the sort of arms a knight may use during battle.
Archery: Though his father drilled him hard with sword and lance, his favorite skill to practice was archery. During his free time, he practiced with longbow, shortbow, and crossbow far more than other weapons. He is a good shot, but not a master by any means.
Horsemanship: Seeing as his father was a knight, he was being molded into one as well. Leslot is an expert on horseback. He understands not only how to ride, but how to groom a horse.
Survival: The men of Savlar would not last very long in their harsh rugged land if they didn't understand survival skills. Leslot can navigate without a map or compass. He can hunt, fish, and trap. He knows how to build a fire and a crude shelter to last the night. He would not be comfortable in the wilds, but he would survive it, especially in Salvar where he knows what roots and berries are edible and what ones will kill a man.
