Prologue
Many stories have been told about their mysteries. Many books have been written about their power. Many songs have been sung about their ferociousness. Many men and women haven’t lived to tell the tale of meeting one face to face, nor has anyone ever managed to capture one. They are being feared and loved at the same time, drawing admirers and bounty hunters from all over the world. They are mysterious, entertaining humans for centuries in legends and mythology. It is safe to say that there is no man alive who hasn’t heard of…
…the Akashiman purple-necked tortoise!
And it were those very alluring stories that have been causing both anger and hatred within the Yeti family of Eupuki for several years now. And the history of the Eupuki family is a strange one. One which started a few years back…
Enter the Tortoise
Oeddie Eupuki was only 198 years old when he first ventured down the massive Comb Mountains. It was a harsh winter when the yeti left his elderly home and made his way towards the human nation of Akashima. Never in the extensive history of yeti’s have they been in real contact with humans, but Oeddie was planning on destroying that tradition, for the good of the community. For he was planning on catching and training a Akashiman purple-necked tortoise. The others didn’t understand why the adolescence yeti would do such a thing, even risking the complete massacre of their kind while doing so. Though there was no stopping Oeddie for he had made up his mind; he wanted a turtle.
And so it came to pass that on the coldest day of the season Oeddie descended Comb Mountains and passed through Yanbo Harbor. It’s needless to say that the yeti got quite a few weird looks from the humans, who looked in awe at the beast. The humans of the city knew the tales of the mysterious beings that supposedly rescued their beloved hero, a courageous swordsmaiden, named Lady Akashima. But never in their lives had they witnessed a yeti, so the mistake was easily made and Oeddie could pass through the harbor unharmed, as opposed to the many warnings he had been getting at home. Unknowingly using the history of the nation to his advantage the yeti managed to get a small boat. He bravely set out onto the open sea, still determined to catch the mighty tortoise.
Battle of the Elements
No resistance from god-fearing humans and being given a free boat; Oeddie’s luck had to be running out soon, according to the rules of Lady Fortune. And as if those rules had been written down in stone the rather expected happened. For after sailing helplessly for 41 days and 41 nights the poor yeti got caught in a terrible storm on open sea. Strong winds torn his sails to shreds as thick waves smacked against the ship’s hull. Water poured into Oeddie’s cabin and it wasn’t long before he decided it was better to abandon ship before he would be swallowed whole by the mighty sea. Holding parts of the ship’s wreckage tightly in his arms he managed to stay afloat, with using too much of his strength.
It took the elements of Althanas four whole days before they let poor Oeddie wash up on the shores of a deserted island. The land was covered in a thick layer of warm sand, and the sun shined brightly upon the desolated prison. Being a yeti from heritage Oeddie didn’t know how to deal with these temperatures and quickly became fatigued and was forced to hide in the shade for a long time before he rediscovered the will to capture the mighty turtle. But when he did he came back with unlimited optimism. In fact, the yeti was so optimistic that he just plainly walked into the calm ocean. Not taking anything at all with him Oeddie walked into to the sea, knowing things couldn’t get any worse.
People of Akashima, rejoice!
The humans of Yanbo Harbor had been living in doubt for quite some time, as they had seen the yeti taking off for the massive ocean, but none of them had seen him come back. After the many days that passed after the unfortunate event they started giving up hope, realising they would never see their mystic creature again.
But!
As with many great fairy tales and mythological legends, the unexpected happened. After what looked like at least fifty days the people of Yanbo Harbor could see an unidentifiable ship nearing their shores. The fishermen were hard at work at sea, and they were the first to notice the weird thing coming towards them. Quickly they alarmed the rest of the town, and within seconds most of the docks were filled with people. Men, woman and children all stood lined up near the water, harshly rubbing against each other to get a peek of the strange phenomenon.
It was Oeddie Eupuki.
The yeti had found means of transport and was now making his way back home. And it wasn’t until he reached the shore, descended from his “boat” and walked up to the Akashiman people, that they found out how he got back from that deserted island. The yeti strolled through the streets, followed by enormous amounts of people, all staring in awe at him again. But this time it wasn’t for the yeti himself.
This time they were staring at the purple-necked tortoise walking behind him…
Personality:
Description:
Oeddie Eupuki is a loving and warm yeti. Unlike the most stories circulating about yeti’s within the human kingdoms, he isn’t a heartless murderer. The young man likes to make snowmen when winter hits town, eat brightly colored popsicles and snow cones and play with his turtle. He’s always willing to help out people in need, or stick his neck out for others.
But, unfortunate for Oeddie, most of the humans –other than the Akashiman humans, who are familiar with mystic beings- don’t like to be near him. They still see him as a treat and most of them try to either capture him, and display him for money, or try to kill him, to keep his head as a trophy. Therefore the yeti is mostly always on the run, never staying in the same place for too long unless he has friends he can trust. Though, at the moment, the only being he trusts is his tortoise; Gerard.
Another noteworthy characteristic of Oeddie is the fact that he almost never gets mad. It’s against his nature. He’ll never turn into a raging lunatic, unless there is no other way. Never will he get so frustrated that he needs to vent his anger through physical means. In fact, the yeti is a determined pacifist. He doesn’t carry around any weapons, nor does he intend to inflict any means of hurting upon others. However, instead of getting angry, like others would, Oeddie is more prone to feel sad. He’s a sensitive yeti and mostly kept to himself. When others treat him unjustly, or unfair, he’ll feel sad and hurt inside, but never will he show any signs of anger.
But it isn’t all sadness about Oeddie. For 90% of the time he is a strong headed optimist. He doesn’t know why he looks at the bright side of life most of the time, but he likes it just the way it is.

Oeddie has two cute black eyes, just above his small nose. Sometimes people mistake him for a younger male, but he’s already in his adolescence period. Pointy ears mark the side of his head, while the rest of his body is covered in a thick layer of sky blue colored fur. Well, except for his hands, feet and parts of his face his entire body is covered fur. But, like any other civilized creature, Oeddie wears clothes. His hairy chest and back is hidden beneath a sturdy leather vest, sewn together by his mother. One can still see the stitches, the places were the several pieces of leather were sewn together. His legs and butt are dressed in leather shorts. So his lower legs, from his knees down to his feet, can still be seen as his pants don’t cover that area. Oeddie wears no hat, gloves or shoes. Only the vest and pants mark his body, and even that’s more than any other yeti might be seen wearing.
Diagonal across his chest he keeps a long belt, on which he keeps four little bags in a pear-shaped form. In those bags he keeps food, never-melting ice cubes and herbs.
Furthermore, the yeti will never be seen alone. It’s basically another part of his appearance, namely his familiar Gerard (see the “Familiar” part)
Abilities:
Strengths:
-- Oeddie is being hunted severely when he enters a human kingdom and has therefore mastered his evasive skills. Trying to stay alive has given him the advantage of dodging blows, arrows and even several types of magic.

Weaknesses:
-- Oeddie doesn’t speak any language other than his own. When he is without his turtle he can’t make himself understandable to others.
-- Being a pacifist Oeddie often gets into trouble when someone wants to pick a fight. The only thing he can do in a battle is…dodge.
-- His height and race make him rather easily identified in a crowd. It’s hard for the yeti to hide when there isn’t anything big nearby.
Equipment:
