Name: Tuth C'meva

Age: 27

Race: Human

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Blue with a ‘gold’ ring around the iris

Height: 5 ft 4 in.

Weight: 140 lbs.

*Occupation: Mercenary, Bounty Hunter, Treasure Hunter, and Gladiator

Appearance: Tuth is not a handsome man. His hair is dark brown in color, but flaxen, ill kept and oily. He keeps it cut short and artless, usually ‘trimming’ it with his dagger. His face is rather unremarkable, except for 2 scars that mark his right cheek and forehead. The scars are old, and barely visible. However, behind his face lies is most prominent feature: his eyes. Unless the rest of him, his eyes are truly beautiful: Light blue with a brownish yellow, described usually as ‘gold’ in color, jagged ring around his iris. While there is nothing magical in his gaze, some may find brief pause to their beauty. If only the rest of him were so beautiful! His build is long limbed and thin, and covered with countless scars, most self-inflicted during his self-training.

History: Tuth grew up in a solitary cabin in the Concordia forest with his mother and father. His father was an accomplished herbalist who foraged in the deep forests for new herbs to breed and grow to sell in a nearby village to the medicine men, or occasionally a rare truffle which would be sold to passing merchant for a hefty price, and a greater profit when sold to the well-off city folk where the mushroom was considered a delicacy. His mother tended the herb gardens, and kept written records of the family’s finances, the properties of the herbs and other little notes.
In his early youth Tuth studied written Tradespeak, and the art of haggling (who sold his father’s finds in the village) under his mother. As soon as he was deemed old enough, he accompanied his father into the woods in his rangings where Tuth learned the arts of wilderness survival and herbalism. Until his 12th year he lived this way. At this point in his young he was struck by wanderlust and left his home on his own rangings and his own travels to nearby villages, usually stealing away in the dead of night, only to return a few days later, to heavy scolding by his parents. During this time his relationship with his parents was strained at best, because they would often confine him to their cabin. While under house arrest, he would often be taken by flights of mechanical fancy. He had seen scattered bits of mechanics in the villages and towns he would visit when he ran away. During this time, he dreamed up, modified, and perfected the design of what would be his chosen weapon. Over a few years of good behavior on his part, Tuth was allowed more and more freedoms, until he was sometimes allowed to sell his father’s herbs in the markets. He would always taking some herbs he found on the way and sell them as well, and slowly he raised money for himself, dreaming of the day he would commission a smith to make his dreamed whip-knife a reality. It took years, and a few lucky truffles, but by his 18th year he commissioned the best smith he could find to make the whip-knife.
By his 20th year, Tuth was on his own. He had run away from home for good, and had begun to teach himself to use his weapon. The road of long, hard, and left his body scarred by each of his mistakes. He lived in the forest for 6 years, mediating and teaching himself how to use the whip-knife. He learned the secrets of wind magic from the deep druids of the forest, and using this ability he was finally able to use the whip-knife without hurting himself. And after that realization, Tuth was lost. He’d devoted years to learn to use his fantasy weapon and now … what?
Tuth left the forest a year ago. Since, he has worked as a mercenary and participated in tournaments using his weapon to wow the crowds and sometimes even taking the prize. But Tuth is a rudderless man, not knowing, yet, what he truly wants out of life.

Skills:
Whip-knife Combat. Tuth is highly practiced his chosen weapon, but still lacks great combat experience. The result is a fighter who knows his weapon very well, but lacks some of the basic battle tactics taught by weaponmasters or experience.
Wind Magic. This is used, at this level, solely to augment the usage of his whip-knife. He can change the direction of the knife using a finely honed sheath of controlled air around the blade of the weapon. He also uses this same technique to pinch off the chain so it wont recall the blade if he doesn’t want it to. Outside of this, his air magic requires great concentration and is invariablely weak.
Wilderness Survival. Tuth has the skills and knowledge of herbs, food, traps and other such skills to survive almost infinitely in a forest environment. This knowledge is useful also, to a lesser degree in mountainous and plains environments. His knowledge is especially vast of the forests of Coronè, where he lived for most of his life.

Equipment:
Whip-knife: This is Tuth’s primary weapon. It’s bladed by an 8 inch long steel blade attached to an iron-wrapped-in-leather handle by a sturdy but fine 8 foot long chain. A piece of engineering from Tuth’s own mind, the chain is wrapped around 3 rolling wheels within the handle of the weapon, spring loaded to wrap the chain around the wheels. The result is a weapon in which, when swung will extend and then wind itself back. When fully called back it can be used like an ordinary dagger, although the enlarged hilt can sometimes get in the way.
Dagger with leather belt sheath: Made of cheap bronze, generally not used in combat
Pack: Made of leather, it holds Tuth’s things, especially when ranging the wilderness
2 leather bags
Hardened leather armor: He wears soft leather clothes under a hardened leather chest piece, shoulder piece and leg pieces. He wears leather boots as well.
Woolen cloak
Bedroll (padded cloth blanket that he can fold himself into)
Leather bound journal with charcoal pencil: He sometimes takes notes of his adventures, but mostly used to cataloging the different properties of herbs and other medicines.
Various gathered herbs

Godo character :)

He's a bit too skilled with his fighting technique, however. Highly proficient is pretty far beyond what I can allow at level 0. Make him an average fighter with the whip-knife and average in 'combat' as well, and you're good.

I combined 'combat' and 'use of whip-knife' into a single skill since having both was kind of redundant. :) To tone down the fighting a bit, but still preserve the fact he's spent 6 years of his life learning his weapon, I chose to have him have great knowledge of his weapon's strength's and limitations, but little combat experience. Basically, he's skilled with his weapon, but not in fighting. I see these to even out to be something I would term an "average" fighter and I hope you'll agree.

I also changed "for 10 years" to "for most of his life" in the Wilderness Survival skill, which puts it line with the history. I also got rid of the translation part of his name, since I had at first thought it a pseudonym, but now it's his given name.

So then play him as someone who isn't above or below a typical soldier in terms of skill, for now. That's basically what I mean by 'average fighter'.

Anyway, looks good, have fun. Approved!
