View Full Version : The Robe Enchantment
Sorish walked down the streets of the bazaar, the sky a pale blue as the sun began to rise. AS sorish looked he finally found the shop he wanted and entered the shop known as Elemental Enchanter. As soon as he entered a bell rang. The shop itself had a bunch of enchantment books for those who wanted to train in enchantments. Maybe I'll pick up a water enchantments book so that I can enchant things later, Sorish thought as he went to the bookshelf. He found a blue book that had a symbol that looked like a wave on its cover. Flipped through and saw that it was full of water elemental enhancements, both temporary and permanent. He closed the book and went to the front desk where an old woman stood with a smile on her face. Sorish smiled. "Excuse me mam, I would like to buy this book as well as get my robe enchanted so that when the hood is put up, the entire robe is filled with seawater. Is that possible and if so, how much would it be?" he asked as he placed the book on the counter.

Hey, just a quick note here. The book would count as a skill if you are just wanting it to be used for IC reasons. The robe is a bit iffy as to if it counts as an ability. If you take out the and just have it generate sea water on the inside I think that would be fine. In calculating the cost, it is similar to an enviromental suit, cutting out most airbone posion and allowing Sorish to breath (I think that is your intention?). Anti-toxins would have to be bought as one off uses, as they would count as a fairly high level ability if it was continual.
Removed the Anti-Toxin stuff and the book will be for IC stuff.

The woman glanced up from the counter, squinting in a vain attempt to see the shape looming over her. Her eyes weren't as good as they used to be, but even so, she knew the customer before her was huge.
He outlined what he wanted, and the elderly woman held up a hand, counting in her head, wrinkled brow furrowed in concentration as she studied the objects on the counter before her.
"Alright, sonny, 'm'sure we can manage the water-magic easy enough. Not done it in a while, mind you, but Ol' Nel knows what she's doing."
The old woman squinted at the cloth of the customer's cloak, fingering the material as another gnarled finger tapped her turkey-wattle neck. "It'll cost you two-hundred and seventy-five gold pieces if you want this enchantment done right, m'lad. Your choice, of course."
She looked at the book on the worn counter and started leafing through it. She hadn't seen it in years - forgotten she had it on her shelves, to be honest - and didn't know how much she should charge for something with the kind of powers contained within.
I still need to know the enchantments contained in the book before I can price it, as per my last PM.
Sorish Smiled at the old woman and started to remove the robe, A breastplate and greaves made out of coral kept him covered, not that it was a requirement to be clothed in coralian society mind you, but above the waves nudity was looked down upon even if you didn't have anything to hide. He handed the woman his fishscale robe "I think that is an acceptable amount to pay. As for the book, here are just a few of the enchantments that are mentioned."
"The Water Weapon which gives any weapon that this enchantment is used on the element of water. This means that it will harm any fire Elemental twice as badly as a normal person, however a water elemental will be hurt half as badly. This enchantment will only last 10 hits before it has to be reapplied."
"The Water Armor makes any armor have a water affinity, it puts out small fires on contact and absorbs most water attacks It can only last for 10 hits before it needs to be reapplied."
"The Bottomless Water Supply can be placed on any container full of water to make that container never run out of water. Handy for when you are entering the desert. This is a permanent enchantment."
"There are many more, however I don't think I can perform these enchantments yet as they seem pretty advanced."
I will update the list as my character levels up.

The woman flicked her eyes up at the towering figure, her gaze sharp despite the softness age had gifted the rest of her body.
"I can read, sonny! Just you hush, and let Ol' Nel think."
After a few more quiet moments, the old woman slammed the book shut and slid it closer to herself, removing the Coralian's hand in the process. She lifted the cloak from the table and sniffed it, her face wrinkling in distaste at the sea-reek coming from the garment. It was like the docks at low tide.
"I can have the cloak ready for you by the end of the day, lad. As for the book," she said, glancing over the cover again and debating internally, "call it two-hundred and it's yours."
Alright, if the book is only going to be used for IC development, then it shouldn't be an issue.
Sorish smiled as he took out a two sacks of 100gp from his backpack. "I'll give you 500gp total. 200 for the book, 275 for the robe, and 25 extra to atone for the smell that the robe might leave behind. The other 300 will be brought when I pick up the robe." He placed the bags on the table and gave the woman a fond farewell before he picked up the book and left to practice the enchantments before he did them on anything important.
It was near closing time when Sorish returned and placed the other 3 bags of 100 coins on the table. The woman then gave Sorish his robe which he tried out. The enchantment had worked like a charm. He was now able to breath without having to use his water bubble spell and would be able to enter toxic atmosphere without problem. "Thank you so much mam," Sorish said said as he left with his hood up. Now he was ready to kill that dragon... Well once he got some way to filter out the toxins in the air. Maybe he should buy antitoxins to put in his robes, luckily he had received a vile of the dragon's poison from the leaders of Arerar, now all Sorish needed was a doctor who could inject it into Sorish so he could make antitoxins. Sorish searched the streets and found the office of one Dr. Johns. However, the office seemed closed. guess I'll have to return tomorrow, Sorish thought as he walked away from the Bazaar for the night.
The Next Day Sorish entered the office and walked up to the front desk. "Do you accept walk-ins?" Sorish asked the secretary at the front desk.

Remember that you don't have anti-toxins, so the environment will still poison the water you're in. As Hysteria said, you'd need to get the anti-toxins to be able to do that.
