Nickames: "Adrianna" (Acquaintances/Friends), "Valentine" (Acquaintances/Friends), "Rei" (Close Friends), "Val" (Intimate), "Vye" (Intimate), "Vivi" (Intimate)
Age: 1,762 Years Old (Current Vestige Appears Late Twenties, Early Thirties)
Race: Earthbound (One of three classes of Angel)
Hair Color: Long Wavy Blonde
Eye Color: Cerulean/Turquoise/Aquamarine
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 135 lbs
Occupation: Justicar Spymaster of The High Overwatch
Personality:
Witty, playful, wry, curious, and cunning. Vyrei'thia is the type to seek out problems. In fact, that has been her job as an Earthbound for over a century. She will put herself in positions most would find uncomfortable or unusual just for information. She likes to learn what makes people tick and what keeps the world spinning. She is sharp, quick to observe, and just as able to expose your darkest secrets. In general, she is the type of person you'd get along with at the bar, but not the type you'd like to meet in political debate or dark alley. When her patience wanes, she is direct and to the point. She is also one of the Prime Justicars, and will not hesitate to avoid turning to the blade.
Appearance:
Vyrei'thia is a sleek, elegant, and stunning example of a woman (https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8664/15691653279_abf521189e_o.jpg). Some may even say an angel. They could not be closer to the truth. She has long, almost always tangle-free wavy hair, stunning blue eyes, and a form that would wag the tongues of men. She is confident in this and often wears garments to expose and accentuate her flawless skin. This is, of course, a trap for the foolish and the headstrong. Though enticing, Vyrei'thia will smite any mortal that makes an unwelcome advance. Aside from beauty, this warrior of above exudes cunning in her features. Even when honest and forward, she looks as though aiming to achieve some alternate purpose.
Skills
Way of the Blade:
As an Earthbound, Vyrei'thia has knowledge and proficient training in all arms. No mortal weapon is unfamiliar to her. Out of these, her preferred and practiced weaponry are estocs, rapiers, chains, spears, daggers, kukri, knives, needles, bows, and katars.
Anatomy of the Living:
As an Earthbound, she has knowledge of the creation of nearly all living things. Locating organs, arteries, veins, and similar weaknesses on the living is somewhat second nature. Only artificial constructs and abominations against nature pose a dilemma.
Anatomy of the Damned:
The Earthbounds have warred on mortal soil with demons, hell fiends, undead, and otherwise evil creatures for several millenia. As such, they are versed in the most efficient means to combat them. She is knowledgeable in the anatomy of common agents of the damned such as demons, fiends, devils, etcetera. Rare, and more elite members of darkness are another story.
Hand to Hand:
She is skilled in unarmed combat. Though not particularly trained in any one school of close quarters combat, she is more than able to handle herself in a brawl.
Language:
Vyrei'thia is able to speak all mortal languages as they are derived from the original Tower of Babel. On top of the mortal tongue, she is able to speak Divine, Demonic, Undead, and even converse with animals. The latter of which is more emphatic in nature than verbal.
Historian:
Earthbounds are as old as time itself. Though not all Earthbounds date back that far, they are all given the gift of historical knowledge. They know of past tragedies, wars both known and forgotten, secrets, truths, and the common history of the land. Keep in mind, they are also strictly trained in what information to reveal, and what information to protect. Certain infractions are punishable by true death.
Prime Runology:
Magic once had a source independent from the mortal realm and before the well known Tap of today. Vyrei'thia is versed in sigils, signs, runes, scripture, seals, and other various markings of magical importance. Thusly, she is also trained in creating and undoing them. However, this knowledge is regulated as strictly as secrets of life itself. Abuse of such is punishable by true death.
Abilities
Blessed Light:
Racial Ability: The Earthbound lets their true, angelic form show through their mortal vessel. This typically takes the form of blinding light and a severe cranial ringing. This light will temporarily blind an average mortal within 15 feet of the source no matter what direction they look. Anyone between 15 and 50 feet feet can be temporarily blinded if looking directly at the source as though looking at the sun. In addition to this light, victims within 15 ft will experience a deafening ring that seems to originate within their minds. Those up to 75 feet away will be affected by the ringing, but with diminished returns. Should one advert or cover their eyes/ears, they may be spared from the temporary blindness/deafness.
- Duration per Usage: 5 Seconds Maximum
- Cooldown: 1 minute per each second used.
- Mobility: Unable to act while ability is active. This does not include momentum prior to activation such as free falling, transportation, and lateral momentum.
- Duration of effects: 95% Blindness and/or Deafness lasting for the duration of the ability and diminishing normally as one would recover from the effects of a flashbang.
Luminus Eternium:
Racial Ability: Earthbounds do not bleed. They do not die. They are forged in the light of creation then bound to the mortal realm during their terms of service. Thusly, instead of blood, Earthbounds hemorrhage light. Their essence is similar to blood in the respects that they can "bleed out", except it flows and looks more like luminescent, wet sand. Since they are children of light, they cannot die by traditional mortal methods, but they can be temporarily neutralized. Earthbounds do not aesthetically age unless they desire to appear so. Thusly, they cannot perish by the sands of time. If they are stricken down in combat, they will be reborn again.
- Immortality: Revived within 4 hours for normal wounds and deaths. Revived in 24 hours if catastrophically mutilated such as vaporization, immolation, sundered to pieces, crushed, liquefied, etc.
- Exceptions: When within places devoid of innocence, purity, and "good" such as Hadia, Hell, Purgatory, and Blighted Land, they are as good as mortal. If killed in these places, their light will be consumed by surrounding darkness and they will perish forever. In some cases involving corruption, they may be reborn as a Hellbound.
Inhuman:
Racial Ability: Earthbound do not suffer the same vices as the common man. They do not get cold, overheat, hungry, or tired. They do not need to eat and only sleep to expedite revival, to heal, or as a rouse for meditating/communing with the Divine. This does not mean they are immune to ice or flame, but they will not get the chills, hypothermia, heatstroke, or thirsty. They can still be frozen or burnt to a crisp.
- Resistance: Minor resistance to cold and heat.

History
Vyrei'thia was born a mortal woman in the days long before the Demon Wars and after the Elve's civil conflict. Originally, Vyrei'thia was named Adrianna Wellspring, born to merchant parents. Her human life was pure, innocent, and in some ways perfect. She married at the young age of 14 in a prearranged engagement to another merchant heir, Vincent Valentine. Oddly, the arrangement worked out well, and the two fell for one another. In her adult years, she bore two children, Aliah and Elliwood. Together, they raised a family and ran a spanning chain of armories, smithies, tailors, and pubs. Near the peak of their wealth, Adrianna took an interest in giving to the less fortunate. Using surplus wealth, she funded the construction of three orphanages in Radasanth, Euriland, and Knife's Edge.
As her children aged, they became privy to their wealthy heritage and more importantly, their inheritance. The two educated, loved, and gifted children developed an unhealthy taste for the coin. As they became teenagers, they took a distaste to Adrianna “squandering” their inheritance on bastard children. With Vincent out managing their investments and businesses, the disciplinary figure could not check the teens. The loving family devolved to a battle of greed and immorality, yet Adrianna never gave up on her children or those left to be forgotten in her orphanages.
Around the same time Adrianna was wed, Aliah chose a suitor of her own, a less than savory son of a gambler. Shortly after the wedding day, which Adrianna spared no expense, Aliah and her husband Geddoff, raided the Valentine Family coffers and manipulated their way into removing Adrianna and Vincent from their own banking accounts. In light of this, Vincent never returned home. It was only assumed he had been murdered when a business negotiation turned south due to lack of funds. As the money left the family, so did Elliwood to chase down his sister and tie himself up with whores and prostitutes. Adrianna, stripped of her husband, children, the orphans she loved as her own, and her estate, fell into a deep depression. In these times, she prayed for help and received no reply. This, overtime, stilled her heart and claimed her from the mortal realm.
It was only then she received her reply. The Divines, specifically the Unbound, had taken notice of her selflessness, her persistence in the face of betrayal, and her unyielding love. In her, they saw the makings of one of their own. Thus, they accepted her into the ranks of angels, she earned her wings, and renamed her Vyrei'thia. In their tongue, this meant “One of Pure Heart”.
Here, she was wakened to stories of time, the knowledge of all, and the essence of purity and light. She took to it well, learned fast as any other, and became one of them. However, Adrianna had difficulty removing herself from the mortal realm. She would often spend her days watching the world below. She watched her children reap the fate which they sowed. Aliah died in a domestic abuse incident when Geddoff accused her of adultery. She was assumed guilty and beaten to death. Afterward, Geddoff ran off with the Valentine Estate only to lose it on a Citadel wager and find himself fall upon the blade by men more vile and corrupt than he. Elliwood became addicted to opiates as well as women. In the end, he fell asleep in a bed filled with a dozen whores and an overdose of opiates cut with nightshade. Though this saddened her greatly, Vyrei'thia took great interest in some of the orphans she had come to know. One of them grew up a power actress, another found love and created the perfect family. One even grew up a hero to lead an army against the rising demon threat.
It was then her fellow Divines proposed to her a way to once again walk the mortal realm. As a human given wings, they explained her unique ability to return to earth as an agent of above. These Divines, archangels as old as creation itself, called her kind “Eith'Dran” or “Earthbound”. Unlike her, the archangels, called “Ain'Dran” or “Unbound”, were unable to walk the mortal realm. They had not the memory nor the experience to manage a mortal vessel. In explaining this, the Unbound told her of a never ending war between good and evil. Importantly, they told her of the natural balance and the importance of maintaining harmony. Unlike the Divines, darkness knew no restriction and constantly needed to be kept at bay. In an attempt to seize the mortal realm, the Demons of Hadia spilled upon Althanas. Little did the mortals know that Divines had seen this happen and had Earthbound agents assisting them in their struggle. Vyrei'thia was offered a position as one of these agents. After much thought, she agreed.
Earthbounds are fallen angels that are still in the service of Divnity, not to be confused with Hellbounds. Hellbounds are those who were reborn into light, but were cast out for their greed, their hatred, their lust, or their pride. Unlike the Hellbounds, Earthbounds serve to right wrongs and maintain balance on Althanas. Many of which operate our of a hidden Island in an organization called the High Overwatch. This is where Vyrei'thia served many tours.
In her millennium of servitude and several tours to the mortal realm, Vyrei'thia exploited her knowledge of trade, politics, and ethics to find a niche in subterfuge. In her third tour (roughly 200 years each) Vyrei'thia had been promoted from Justicar, all the way to Spymaster. She was charged with intel and information from around the world. She foresaw the damage of the Forgotten Ones and acted. Her talents positioned and orchestrated the eventual downfall of Xem'Zund by the hands of mortals. In fact, her subtle arrangements saw through many wars. Some were lost, others won, but all in the name of balance.
For some time, Althanas had been quiet. Small skirmishes raised little concern and settled themselves. Only recently had Vyrei'thia been stirred back to action. Stories of Thaynes known as Tantalus, great evils known as “Oblivion”, the ruin of a nation called “Eiskalt”, and a darkness prying old locks, all of these beckoned her back to the field. It was time for her to protect the world for which she loved once again.
