Name: Ketsumeh (Of the Red Sands)
Age: 20
Race: Human
Hair Color: Silver
Eye Color: Red
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 130 lbs
Occupation: Puppeteer.
Personality
It rather goes without saying that Ketsumeh prefers the company of his puppets thhan other people. He is often more than not found in seclusion, repairing or improving Anubhasa. The puppeteer has an obvious bad habit, often talking to himself or his "weapon" to calm himself in bad situations. He isn't, however, openly hostile to others, as many other hermits are, though is not very loud spoken, and is often ignored, which consistently enrages him. As a further side affect of his surrounding himself with wordless, heartless marionettes, he is largely emotionless, his face often flat and somber, though there are certain occassions which warrant a smile from him, and while they are rare, they touch his whole face, and are warm and disarming.
Appearance
Ketsumeh has the appearance of a boy in his early teens, though in reality he's somewhere above twenty years old. As such, people commonly underestimate him, and pass over his small stature for tallier and bulkier warriors. Medium length silver hair crowns his head, and his face commonly wears a look of disinterest, the eyes halflidded as though just waking up. He always dons a long black robe with a wide, round collar, his arms never slipped through the sleeves. Beneath it, he wears a simple white sleeveless shirt and light black pants, with a red sash bound around his waist, serving as a belt. His feet are guarded with a pair of odd looking black sandals, which appear too be more of a light boot with the toes and heel removed.
History
Ketsumeh was born of the In'wehtos tribe of Ruuya, much to the dissatisfaction of his parents. As Ketsumeh grew, it became glaringly evident that he was too weak to lift the Khanda, too small to ride a horse without a companion. The way of the warrior was certainly not his path, but he did seem to find a niche in medicines and poisons, much to his father's chagrin. His brother, however, who'd been born a year later, showed great promise in his swordsmanship, and instilled trust in horses, taming them quicker than any other. A little jaded by his shadowing by a boy who was a year his junior, Ketsumeh dug deep into his work.
As puberty neared, Ketsumeh began to grow more rebellious and jealous of how everyone in the village swooned over his younger brother. In a vandal fit, he broke into a weapons storage, but accidentally found himself sealed inside with no way out. The others simply assumed he'd gone out to search for herbs, but after three days, they became suspicious. They found him in the basement of the storage building, surrounded in the dark by dozens of staring, silent puppets. It was evident that he'd suffered mental trauma, but he finally found his art; puppetry.
Puppeteers were rare, not only in Ruuya, but all of Fallien. They were a feared people, for they could bring their armed dolls to life to kill or serve as they wished. The puppets felt no pain, no remorse, so they were perfect assassination tools. While he expected them all to be happy of this, they seemed angry, and a little unsettled. By this time, his father had begun to suspect that Ketsumeh may not even be his own child, and that his wife had slept with another behind his back. The paranoid man filled his younger son's mind and heart with lies, and in time, the newly branded puppeteer would often catch his sibling staring at him with dark, hungry eyes. In a way, Ketsumeh had surpassed him finally.
One unseasonably, bitterly cold night, the younger boy slipped into Ketsumeh's sleeping quarter's with a katar in hand. Not knowing what to expect, he fell for the puppeteer's trap, tripping over what he thought was his feet, slamming to the ground and pulling Ketsumeh out of a sound sleep. Without hesitation, seeing the gleam of sharp steel, he redirected the strings to the body of Anubhasa, and swiftly killed the intruder. When he discovered that it was his own brother, his heart did not ache, but instead soared. Finally! Rid of the obnoxious, flamboyant bastard. Then, he hesitated...memories flashing into mind. How his parents had loathed his inabilities...so they must have convinced his brother to do this! In a fit of rage, he sent Anubhasa to his parent's bed and directed the puppet tyo brutally murder them as they lay together. That night, the sands flowed red, and before it could dry, he fled into the sands, fearing the retribution of the village.
Skills
Art Of Puppetry
A difficult skill to master, let alone use, the art allows a puppeteer to attach unseen strings formed of the user's own spiritual energy, and bring the doll to life. These strings cannot be cut through physical means, though a suitable distraction can force Ketsumeh to release them. By channeling his or her energy into the puppet, it can be used for combat, projecting one's voice through, seeing what it sees, or changing it's appearance to the user to trick an opponent. While master puppeteers can control at least ten puppets from a string attached to any one finger, Ketsumeh must control Anubhasa with all ten fingers, allowing him to control only one puppet at a time. He is proficient in the art.
Stealth
Ketsumeh is fairly able to hide himself in his given surroundings, though a sharp opponent could spot him in time.
Puppet Sealing
An ability often utilized by puppeteers, this allows for a number of puppets to be stored in a scroll. To call it forward, all one needs to do is swipe their hand over the name written on the scroll, and hold it before them. To dismiss it, one would have to simply sweep their hands over the puppet's eyes.
Chemical Knowledge
Ketsumeh was gifted with a sharp mind. He is average in the application of not only medicines, but poisons as well.
Weaknesses
Ketsumeh's small body is not suited for physical combat. As such, he has constantly counted out any weapons or hand to hand training. Without Anubhasa, Ketsumeh is absolutely ineffective, and can be killed with no trouble.
Equipment
Puppet(s)
Name: Anubhasa
Description: A tall humanoid figure about six foot in height, Anubhasa's chest is hollowed out and large enough for the small Ketsumeh to squeeze inside, curled up, eliminating the often trumpeted weakness of a puppeteer as a separation of his tool. The puppet is modeled after a normal Fallien warrior. The bone which makes up the puppet is dyed a light brown, to simulate the common complexion, and it's hair is bound in thick dreadlocks, bunched to the back of his head. It's mouth is hidden under a swath of white bandages. This hides the first of Anubhasa's weapons; a launcher with about the same composition of a crossbow, loaded with small steel chakram. At least thirty can be held in the magazine in it's throat, though only ten are equipped at the time. It is always seen with it's body hidden under a torn, ratty deep dark blue cloak. The second of it's weapons is stored in it's forearms. When engaged, its palms will spit halfway up through the middle finger, and the entire forearm will separate into two pieces, and a two and a half foot iron khanda blade will spring forth from both arms. Finally, while it is not often seen, a three foot long, eight inch wide edged iron tail with a sharp, spear like tip extends from it's middle back.
In addition to his clothes, and puppet, he carries a small, red colored scroll thrust into his sash as well as a small vial of Manikkali, a non fatal poison, unless delivered regularly.
Effects: Small doses of the poison can ease external pain. Ingested internally in small amounts will cause stomach pains and larger doses can cause great illness to a person. Death does not usually occur unless the plant is administered regularly.
o Antidote: A good nights rest. If death due to slow poisoning is suspected, administer Padzahr
