I would like to sell my leather vest and purchase a leather chestpiece that has been enchanted to be as strong as Damascus or Dehlar? hopefully with selling my chestpiece and i will have enough.

If your goal is stronger than steel only, go with the Damascus enchantment. Both materials are relatively the same in terms of durability. Their difference is magical defense, with Damascus considerably weaker than Dehlar in that regard.
