My most recent instance of this happened tonight, as I was reading through the first volume of Rat Queens (highly recommended, btw) that my brother gave me.

Alright, at first glance, there's a bit of a resemblance between the Rat Queens team and my roster of characters... but... omg. THE DAVES! The orcish-looking Dave even keeps birds in his beard. This has to happen, Otto. Officially.

I get this a lot with Talen. I mean, I know he's a shape shifter, so technically he could be anyone but it comes up when I see shadow users who have abilities like Talen.

Recently it was Noob Saibot in MK, with all his cheap teleporting and dark powahs.

Fun fact: more people at work know me by "D3" than by my actual name. And by "at work" I mean, there are people up at the corporate level who know "D3" but not who that actually is. At least twice a year I meet someone new, usually high up on the food chain, who says "Oh you're D3."

It's because when I started work, I was the third of...Four Daves.

I was interested in Rat Queens before, but now I pretty much have to read all of it immediately.

Writing a shapeshifter does allow a lot of cool freedom with interpretations, I bet, Hys. I always forget that Ags has her glamour, too...

It's so good, Dave, you have to! Some parts made me laugh so hard (and are relevant to these Althanas parallels), but while they weren't really spoilery, I didn't want to share them so you guys could discover the awesomeness for yourselves (these bits I posted are just from the beginning).
