We all come from different walks of life. Outside the broken city of Eluriand is a confluence of souls, banded together by one thing: coin. The elves pay us a King's ransom to maintain their once great bastion in hopes that we can wrest it from the infernal clutches of an undead menace. It's a task that has proven, as of yet, impossible.

Those who survive ventures out into the night merit accolades and pay that garner them a much high asking price in other circles. Still, few leave the camp on sheer virtue that no one matches the elves' pay.

Some men are smart enough to realize that gold far outweighs the risk of losing one's life. I've considered it.

That's where my story starts. One fateful day, when night fell before the sun...

Viktor was born in Corone to a family of meager wealth in Serenti. His father was a shipwright who lost a great deal of his wealth after the conflict that resulted in the Coalition losing power. Forced to live between contracts, Viktor abandoned the family trade in favor of something more pliable.

Selling his sword cost Sava dearly in the first years. His family disowned him for the decision that they deemed foolish and declared that he had a death wish. With nothing to keep him in Serenti, he quickly left Corone in search of a means to collect greater wealth.

Though he bore his family no ill will, his desires to ensure that he never fell into the trap of complacency and make certain that he never relied too heavily on any faction prevailed. He joined one mercenary company after another, never renewing a contract. He never tarried too long in one place.

When finally he found the treasure trove that was the Raiaeran effort to retake their capital, he knew he'd found a cow that could be milked clean. So desperate to retake what had once been great, the elves would spare no expense. And Sava struck it rich.

Age: 34
Height: 6'
Weight: 190 lbs.
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Blue
Job: Sellsword

Appearance: Gruff, with long, wild black hair and a thick beard that frames his lips. Due to mostly stalking at night, his skin is lighter than most of his comrades, though notably not pale. His muscles are toned and he wears gray and black combat fatigues. Both arms are riddled with intricate sleeve tattoos. As of yet, the meanings of these are unknown.

Personality: Thoughtful and driven, Viktor is something of a free spirit. He rarely has a mean word to say about anyone, unless of course they drive him to it. Far from pessimistic, Sava looks for the best possible option in any situation and exhausts all other resources before ever considering surrender. He's the sort of on-his-feet thinker that keeps a group alive, and smiling while he does it. Quick with a joke, Viktor is an all around great guy to have on board.

Skills:

This is my Sword- Viktor is a Sellsword by trade. That means he's competent with a blade in hand. His fists are nothing to shake a stick at, either. He's pretty well known for conducting himself skillfully in a skirmish or brawl.

Arrows send my kind of message- Alongside the sword, Viktor is a notable marksman. His vision is keen and his hands are steady.

Abilities:

The Black Whisper: Exposure to the war zone around Eluriand left Viktor's mind open to powerful magics that lingered there. The Necromancy of Xem'Zund still festers beneath the surface of the land, and some can hear the echoes of that magic. With his spirit attuned to death itself, Viktor has a strange intuition about spirits and wights. A whisper that feels distant and powerful, but not wicked sometimes strokes his consciousness. This affords him the following powers:

+Deathsight- Viktor has the ability to touch a dying person and see everything that has ever happened in their life. This is a draining power that leaves him gasping for air and terribly haunted, but gives the target peace of mind to ease their transition to the next world.
+Borrowed Time- In the instants after a soul leaves this world, if Viktor connects with it, he is able to channel the departed spirit for three posts. After that, the spirit passes on to the afterlife and he loses all of the power he borrrowed. At this time, it's limited to a single ability or magical power, and his body enters a lucid state where the spirit overlaps his consciousness. Once per thread.

Ranger's Tricks: His time in Corone and Raiaera have fine tuned Viktor into a precise archer.
Dead Aim- Within 50 feet, if not impeded, Viktor never misses a shot.
Bowslinger- Viktor is able to use bows for grappling and fire in Close Quarters. He is able to draw and notch an arrow in 2 seconds, which allows him nearly rapid fire.
Go for the Throat- Viktor's aim does not suffer a penalty in close proximity. He can aim and hit vital points as normal, as long as his shot is not interrupted.

Items: One iron sword, one yew short bow, a side quiver containing 20 iron arrows.
