It's Raiaera-centric (as is the calendar used). Other regions may have their own calendars, and their relation to Raiaera's may or may not be currently considered canon!

For reference, Christoph (in the podcast) mentioned that the current date is likely Coronari Poldora 1815 or 1816 (CP 1815 ~ 1816).

[Hysteria]

Batman can't be a villain. His whole idea and concept is that justice exists and he has absolute morality. No killing, no guns, etc. What makes batman so unique is that he doesn't hide behind a moral persona, like superman. Superman's is supposed to be the image of justice and good, and he is direct and powerful. Batman is pragmatic.

To really understand Batman you need to view him in contradiction with Joker. While Joker stands for chaos and meaningless, Batman believes in justice and order. The goal of joker is not to kill batman, but rather to have batman kill him. In doing so the fundamental concept behind batman will be broken.
