Name: Joseph

Nickname/Alias:* Joe

Age: 28

Race:Human

Height: 5’8”

Weight:160lbs

Occupation:*Assassin (COVER: merchant, seller of fabrics)
Personality: For all intents and purposes, Joe is a happy individual. He enjoys selling his fabrics, coaxing people into buying his wares, and enjoys killing people for money just as much.
History:Born to a pleasant family of travelling merchants that frequented Scara Brae, Joseph had always thought that he’d continue their lifestyle, until while drinking one night he was in a fight with a large drunken man at a tavern. He dodged most of his punches, but could only stand so much. He’d grabbed a knife from a nearby table and stabbed him in the neck before he knew what he was doing. He was jailed for the night, but when morning came, it wasn’t the gallows that awaited him, but a generous sum of money for killing a dangerous criminal. Confused, he reported back to his family that he’d been brokering a deal with a nobleman the previous night. A lie, but did it matter where the money came from? He didn’t quite know how he felt about killing the man, but the money was so good that he contacted the office that had paid him and requested more names of criminals with bounties on their heads. After a few successful jobs, he turned to assassin work, being that more often than not a contract on a non-criminal paid better. He’s been doing this ever since. He still travels with his mother and father, and with his younger sister.

Appearance: About average height, with brown hair tied in a pony tail that reaches between his shoulder blades, Joe seems to be an average person. He isn’t a person one would look twice at, unless you were looking to buy some clothes; either that or have a man killed.

Skills: Joseph is both a trained merchant, this makes him extremely charismatic and affable to those around him. He is also an enterprising assassin, and knows how to ply the trade (Where to find clients, the handling of daggers as well as contracts.)

Abilities:
Strike from above: While undetected and above an individual, he can drop on them, striking at a vital point with his dagger.
Move silently: Joseph can move quietly enough to be undetected even by alert individuals, so long as he avoids their line of sight.
speed: Joseph is quick and dextrous, able to draw and strike with his dagger before most would be able to.
climb: Joseph is able to climb difficult objects easily, this allows him to get closer to his targets.

Equipment/Weapons: Outfits to suit his needs, black for moving at night, stained clothes for moving in poorer areas, as well as finer clothing for mingling with nobility. He also has two iron daggers; which are both about six inches long, and thin-bladed, good for piercing. He has a pipe and tobacco with him most times.

Hey redrout, sorry for the delay.

Everything looks good here except I need you to clarify the material Joe's daggers are made from. Please edit the material into the profile and post a reply here letting me know you've done it. We also don't let you start with poisons, so you'll need to edit that out. However, we do offer you 200 GP to start out, which is more than enough to buy a few vials of poison from the bazaar. Your next step once you're approved should be to head over there.

Thanks, and welcome to Althanas!

Edited. Can I have a few more languages? Joe is a successful merchant, after all.

Sure. Official canon languages are High Elven, Tradespeak/Common, Aleraran/Drow, Fallien, and Dheath. I'm sure each race has it's own language as well, but they haven't been submitted to canon yet, so feel free to invent your own if you'd like. You can edit them into your skills section.

Would I be able to set up in the bazaar as a textile merchant? What would that entail?

You could, yes, but you'd either do some writing to obtain some raw materials or have some start up capital to make it worth it. Once we're finished here, I'll turn you over to the bazaar moderators who can explain things in more detail. Is this the final version of your profile?

Yep

Great. Just as an FYI, I'm interpretting "alert individuals" in "move silently" to those with 2x perception or lower at level 1. Joe can get better at sneaking at higher levels!

You're approved!
