Name: Bliant Galeron Pendragon
Age: 18
Race: Human
Hair Color: Raven Black
Eye Color: Blood Red
Height: 5’10’’
Weight: 150 lbs
Occupation: Squire

Personality: Honor. Valor. Ambition. Purity. Focused on upholding the laws of the land and the laws of honor, Bliant wishes nothing more than to become a devout knight, undertaking every possible peril for his own glory and to further the cause of righteousness, and die in battle against the very legions of Hell. He sees no shades of grey in the world, for everything is in absolutes. Black and white, right and wrong, good and evil. There is no compromise, there is only victory and defeat, only one path to take. This very singular view of the world can make him frustrating at the least, but he is a true companion and will defend a friend or any righteous person or cause with his very life, without a second thought. Until he is knighted, however, he follows explicitly every order of his patron knight, Sir Druas.

Appearance: Bliant is a rather handsome young man, or at least, he can be when he puts his mind to it, such as for a formal appearance in Court. Otherwise he tends to wear loose pants and often goes shirtless, which shows off his incredibly muscular build.

History: As long as he can remember, he has been the charge of Sir Druas, the faithful servant and squire who always followed three steps behind in travel, two steps behind in Court, and one step behind in battle. In actuality, his father (who he does not know and cannot remember) offered Bliant as a squire when he was at the ripe old age of four, and because squires are not usually taken until ages 8-12, the chance to mold a four-year-old into the perfect servitor was not passed up by the cunning Sir Druas. Druas has never revealed these unusual circumstances to Bliant, who assumed his situation was perfectly normal and continues to do so. Bliant’s father was actually in trouble with the Duke of the area, and offered Bliant as compensation in return for his life.

Bliant has followed Sir Druas for 16 years now, and the time for his own knighthood is rapidly approaching. Within a few years, Bliant will be up for knighthood, and Druas will lose one of the best squires in the memory of the kingdom. Bliant certainly knows his trade inside and out, and has been trusted to follow Druas where few squires have been allowed to follow before. In the heat of the thickest battles, Bliant has fought by his side, though always on foot, and saved his masters life more often then the reverse has been true. In the songs of the minstrels where Druas’ name is heard, it is almost always followed by Bliant’s. And it has been that way for as long as Bliant can remember.

Skills:
~ Combat: Bliant is thoroughly trained in the use of his short sword, and while he is far from an expert, he can hold his own in a pitched battle. He is also proficient in the use of smaller shields. Bliant is a good shot with a shortbow, but only at close range. Once long ago he was taught to throw a javelin, but hasn't held one for years, and probably couldn't use one if his life depended on it. When he was ten years old he saw a barbarian warrior demonstrate axe-wielding at a show, but he doesn't remember. He is not proficient at all in any other weapon, and could use them no better than any peasant, if not worse. Actually, the average peasant could defeat him with most other weapons, simply because his sword-training habits would get in the way.
~Riding: Bliant has rudimentary riding skills and minimal experience. While he can do simple tasks such as direct the horse, bring it to a trot, and otherwise travel on it, he has difficulty mastering jumps and finds it near impossible to actually fight from horseback, though that hasn’t stopped him from trying (and usually failing) in the past.
~Heraldry: Being a member of the Court through Sir Druas, an official knight of the realm, Bliant knows standard Courtly procedures and manners as befits a squire. In addition, he recognizes the standards and emblems of most knights, dukes, barons, princes, kings, queens, and other royalty from nearby lands.
~Minor “Squiring”: Bliant knows the most basic of field repairs for Sir Druas’ armor, how to sharpen blades and to make weapons(and a few other things, like shelters) of wood. He has most recently learned how to make arrows, though it takes him quite some time (a full day) to produce a single usable arrow if he has all the necessary components, and so he rarely uses this skill. He can also handle horses and knows how care for basic injuries to horse and human if given the proper materials. He can recognize a handful of plants that are useful for one thing or another, and knows a little about which animals are good for eating and how best to catch, kill, clean, and cook them, as well as gather edible plants/berries/fruit and where best to find them. [none of these skills are as good as a traditional ranger or healer’s would be, it is simply accumulated knowledge from 16 years of on-and-off questing, most of which was in the wilderness, and hearing various tales and tips from other knights, squires, innkeepers, adventurers, etc. as such his knowledge is broad but shallow, but just enough to save the day sometimes]

Equipment: Bliant owns nothing except for a steel short sword and an oak short bow. (he currently has no arrows and would have to make or buy them) Being a squire, he is often laden down with carrying much of his master’s equipment and luggage, or leads the horse which is carrying the equipment. Sir Druas owns a tent which he and Bliant often use, as well as several blankets, cooking pots, flint and tinder, waterskins, field rations, and the usual assemblage of such necessary equipment. Bliant also carries the banner of Sir Druas, a black helm and silver sword on a field of solid crimson.

NPC: Sir Druas

(I'm just doing a brief overview of his abilities, saving his personality and history to be developed later on)

Riding: An accomplished horseman, Sir Druas has no problems fighting from horseback and does so rather often. He can ride even with his armor on, and fights with his lance when riding. His horse has served him well for many years and is beginning to grow old, not quite able to keep up with younger steeds in a race or a chase. Nevertheless, Justice, as the steed is called, is Sir Druas' chosen mode of transportation and combat.

Combat/Equipment: Sir Druas is best when fighting with a lance on horseback, and is particularly good when jousting. On foot, he favors his iron longsword, the classic weapon of knighthood, and has acquired a reputation for being somewhat slow to strike but always on guard, and when he does strike, it hurts. He generally wears full armor (made of steel) and carries his shield of steel, which bears his insignia of a black helm and a silver sword on a field of crimson. Though a lance is his best weapon, he recently broke his best one in battle and lost the other two in an unfortunate and quite disastrous river crossing, so he is lance-less at the moment.

These skills, while many, are small. So I'll let that be.

You're approved, but do not powergame, as per our convo.
